be_v acquit_v of_o all_o the_o duty_n we_o bear_v thereto_o when_o we_o do_v no_o more_o than_o this_o but_o he_o show_v that_o for_o to_o retain_v we_o under_o his_o subjection_n and_o in_o his_o service_n he_o have_v publish_v his_o law_n and_o at_o this_o day_n will_v have_v it_o preach_v for_o herein_o it_o be_v his_o pleasure_n to_o prove_v whether_o he_o shall_v dispatch_v and_o come_v be_v we_o shall_v not_o only_o be_v slow_a herein_o but_o we_o shall_v draw_v clean_o backward_o from_o that_o which_o he_o will_v we_o if_o he_o call_v we_o unto_o himself_o we_o shall_v recoil_v and_o flee_v back_o from_o he_o yea_o we_o shall_v be_v force_v to_o follow_v that_o which_o be_v evil_a so_o far_o shall_v we_o be_v from_o be_v able_a to_o desire_v any_o manner_n of_o way_n that_o which_o be_v good_a but_o note_v we_o that_o which_o we_o have_v already_o touch_v that_o although_o god_n have_v give_v we_o some_o good_a affection_n albeit_o he_o have_v set_v we_o in_o some_o good_a way_n yet_o be_v we_o still_o slothful_a and_o loath_a to_o remove_v one_o foot_n whereas_o a_o minute_n of_o time_n ought_v to_o serve_v we_o have_v need_n of_o a_o hour_n we_o winch_v &_o fling_v in_o such_o sort_n when_o we_o be_v put_v forward_o and_o if_o happy_o we_o move_v one_o step_n either_o we_o stumble_v or_o else_o we_o start_v back_o two_o pace_n for_o one_o or_o we_o take_v so_o grevous_a fall_v as_o it_o be_v pity_n to_o behold_v so_o it_o be_v not_o without_o good_a cause_n that_o god_n say_v here_o take_v heed_n you_o do_v that_o i_o command_v you_o as_o if_o every_o one_o desire_v to_o be_v at_o his_o ease_n and_o in_o prosperity_n we_o need_v not_o to_o be_v teach_v to_o wish_v this_o unto_o ourselves_o for_o our_o nature_n lead_v we_o hereunto_o but_o for_o all_o this_o it_o seem_v that_o we_o have_v conspire_v our_o own_o misery_n and_o wretchedness_n for_o the_o mean_a to_o prosper_v be_v this_o that_o we_o be_v obedient_a unto_o god_n and_o number_n of_o his_o creature_n and_o so_o let_v we_o note_v that_o god_n will_v in_o this_o place_n reprove_v man_n and_o show_v they_o that_o they_o be_v themselves_o the_o cause_n of_o all_o the_o misery_n and_o wretchedness_n they_o suffer_v in_o this_o world_n and_o that_o they_o must_v attribute_v it_o to_o their_o sin_n and_o wickedness_n but_o he_o will_v moreover_o withal_o allure_v his_o unto_o himself_o when_o he_o set_v before_o they_o a_o reward_n as_o if_o he_o say_v go_v to_o there_o be_v great_a cause_n why_o i_o shall_v be_v serve_v of_o you_o i_o deserve_v it_o full_a well_o at_o your_o hand_n though_o you_o have_v small_a regard_n of_o i_o for_o see_v that_o you_o be_v my_o creature_n be_v it_o not_o good_a reason_n that_o you_o be_v my_o subject_n and_o render_v all_o affectionate_a &_o more_o willing_o dispose_v to_o serve_v and_o please_v he_o see_v that_o he_o come_v not_o unto_o they_o with_o such_o rigour_n and_o severity_n as_o he_o may_v but_o yield_v of_o the_o right_n which_o appertain_v unto_o he_o choose_v rather_o to_o execute_v the_o office_n of_o a_o father_n say_v that_o if_o we_o will_v be_v his_o child_n he_o will_v be_v a_o liberal_a and_o bountiful_a father_n towards_o we_o and_o albeit_o he_o owe_v we_o nothing_o of_o duty_n yet_o will_v he_o bestow_v a_o reward_n on_o we_o for_o the_o service_n which_o we_o shall_v have_v do_v he_o now_o hereby_o we_o be_v admonish_v that_o it_o please_v god_o by_o so_o great_a gentleness_n and_o liberality_n to_o allure_v and_o win_v we_o unto_o himself_o but_o we_o must_v not_o hereupon_o infer_v that_o man_n may_v merit_v and_o deserve_v any_o thing_n by_o serve_v of_o god_n as_o the_o papist_n when_o they_o hear_v such_o place_n they_o run_v to_o their_o merit_n and_o it_o seem_v unto_o they_o that_o god_o be_v further_o bind_v and_o behold_v unto_o they_o than_o he_o have_v promise_v but_o god_n contrariwise_o mean_v to_o show_v we_o that_o he_o be_v ready_a to_o apply_v himself_o to_o we_o and_o to_o the_o fashion_n of_o man_n that_o he_o desire_v nothing_o else_o but_o to_o win_v we_o by_o all_o gentleness_n unto_o his_o obedience_n and_o this_o be_v not_o for_o indebt_v unto_o we_o moreover_o when_o he_o chastise_v we_o and_o that_o we_o be_v subject_a to_o so_o many_o misery_n let_v we_o know_v that_o we_o do_v but_o gather_v in_o the_o fruit_n of_o our_o sovereign_a king_n we_o seek_v to_o dedicate_v ourselves_o unto_o he_o as_o to_o our_o creator_n we_o seek_v to_o honour_v he_o as_o our_o father_n when_o this_o affection_n and_o desire_n shall_v be_v in_o we_o then_o have_v we_o the_o beginning_n of_o the_o whole_a law_n and_o of_o all_o righteousness_n &_o that_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o it_o be_v say_v 7._o that_o the_o true_a wisdom_n be_v the_o fear_n of_o god_n and_o when_o we_o will_v know_v whether_o we_o have_v profit_v in_o the_o law_n of_o god_o we_o must_v sound_v our_o heart_n to_o make_v the_o trial_n hereof_o to_o feel_v if_o we_o have_v such_o a_o zeal_n and_o desire_n that_o god_o be_v honour_v and_o glorify_v of_o we_o for_o if_o there_o be_v such_o a_o fear_n in_o the_o heart_n the_o fruit_n thereof_o will_v appear_v both_o in_o our_o hand_n and_o in_o our_o foot_n and_o in_o all_o the_o part_n and_o member_n of_o our_o body_n as_o god_n have_v also_o ordain_v this_o rule_n when_o he_o publish_v his_o law_n so_o that_o they_o which_o boast_v themselves_o of_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n when_o their_o life_n be_v lose_v to_o all_o wickedness_n their_o own_o tongue_n tell_v they_o they_o lie_v and_o they_o show_v full_a well_o how_o impudent_a and_o past_a shame_n they_o be_v when_o they_o vaunt_v so_o much_o of_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n we_o see_v then_o a_o place_n which_o be_v well_o worthy_a to_o be_v observe_v wherein_o moses_n first_o declare_v that_o to_o serve_v god_n aright_o it_o behove_v that_o our_o heart_n be_v whole_o give_v over_o unto_o he_o that_o it_o suffice_v not_o that_o in_o outward_a appearance_n we_o have_v all_o the_o virtue_n that_o a_o man_n may_v imagine_v except_o such_o a_o affection_n and_o inward_a desire_n of_o the_o heart_n go_v before_o again_o that_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n be_v no_o hide_a and_o idle_a thing_n although_o it_o be_v in_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n yet_o must_v it_o appear_v and_o show_v itself_o in_o their_o life_n for_o it_o be_v the_o heart_n which_o govern_v both_o the_o hand_n and_o the_o foot_n and_o all_o the_o other_o part_n and_o member_n of_o the_o body_n we_o must_v therefore_o learn_v to_o show_v by_o effect_n and_o experience_n that_o we_o fear_v god_n by_o order_v our_o whole_a life_n according_a unto_o his_o will._n now_o hereby_o we_o may_v well_o gather_v that_o god_n disallow_v allthing_n which_o man_n attempt_v beside_o his_o word_n as_o the_o papist_n be_v continual_a man_n and_o religious_a as_o they_o say_v in_o the_o service_n of_o god_n but_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n what_o do_v they_o they_o travel_v much_o and_o be_v never_o the_o near_o for_o they_o profit_v nothing_o because_o in_o the_o whole_a worship_n of_o god_n which_o they_o pretend_v there_o be_v nothing_o but_o the_o invention_n and_o device_n of_o man_n to_o serve_v god_n be_v to_o mumble_v a_o few_o small_a prayer_n and_o to_o crouch_v before_o their_o moppet_n and_o idol_n to_o trudge_v from_o altar_n to_o altar_n to_o chant_v their_o mass_n to_o gad_n on_o pilgrimage_n to_o fast_v such_o a_o day_n in_o the_o honour_n of_o such_o and_o such_o a_o saint_n to_o eat_v no_o flesh_n on_o friday_n nor_o saturday_n brief_o it_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o a_o dungeon_n of_o such_o like_a trumpery_n whatsoever_o they_o have_v under_o this_o shadow_n
