wherein_o though_o we_o be_v assure_v of_o god_n favour_n yet_o we_o have_v no_o feeling_n or_o apprehension_n of_o the_o same_o which_o differ_v in_o christian_n much_o according_a as_o they_o be_v more_o or_o less_o sensible_a of_o their_o estate_n some_o again_o use_v not_o that_o care_n and_o diligence_n in_o the_o use_n of_o mean_n which_o god_n require_v whereupon_o they_o be_v just_o deprive_v of_o that_o inward_a peace_n and_o comfort_n which_o other_o enjoy_v there_o be_v a_o difference_n likewise_o in_o growth_n and_o continuance_n in_o christianity_n some_o be_v strong_a christian_n and_o some_o weak_a answerable_a whereunto_o be_v the_o difference_n of_o assurance_n of_o god_n love_v usual_o in_o the_o heart_n of_o his_o people_n nay_o it_o be_v possible_a that_o for_o a_o long_a time_n the_o lord_n jewel_n his_o redeem_a one_o may_v want_v this_o bless_a comfort_n assurance_n for_o we_o must_v conceive_v there_o be_v a_o double_a act_n of_o faith_n first_o a_o act_n whereby_o a_o poor_a distress_a sinner_n cast_v himself_o upon_o god_n as_o reconcile_v to_o he_o in_o christ._n second_o there_o be_v a_o reflect_v act_n whereby_o know_v that_o we_o rely_v upon_o the_o truth_n and_o promise_n of_o the_o almighty_a we_o have_v assurance_n of_o his_o favour_n now_o a_o man_n may_v perform_v the_o one_o act_n and_o not_o the_o other_o many_o of_o the_o saint_n sometime_o can_v hardly_o say_v that_o they_o have_v any_o assurance_n but_o yet_o notwithstanding_o they_o will_v daily_o cast_v themselves_o upon_o the_o rich_a mercy_n and_o free_a grace_n of_o god_n in_o jesus_n christ._n assurance_n beside_o there_o be_v many_o thing_n which_o may_v hinder_v this_o act_n of_o assurance_n because_o together_o with_o believe_a god_n may_v present_v such_o thing_n to_o my_o mind_n as_o may_v so_o damp_n and_o disquiet_n my_o soul_n that_o i_o can_v have_v any_o definitive_a thought_n about_o that_o which_o god_n will_v especial_o have_v i_o to_o think_v upon_o as_o when_o god_n will_v humble_v a_o man_n he_o take_v not_o away_o the_o spirit_n of_o faith_n whole_o from_o he_o but_o set_v before_o such_o a_o sinful_a creature_n his_o anger_n and_o sore_a displeasure_n together_o with_o the_o hellish_a torment_n and_o pain_n of_o the_o damn_a as_o due_a to_o his_o soul_n which_o make_v he_o for_o the_o present_a to_o be_v in_o a_o estate_n little_o differ_v from_o the_o reprobate_n so_o that_o he_o be_v far_o from_o say_v he_o have_v any_o assurance_n at_o that_o time_n yet_o notwithstanding_o he_o do_v not_o leave_v off_o nor_o renounce_v his_o confidence_n but_o cast_v himself_o upon_o god_n mercy_n still_o though_o the_o lord_n kill_v he_o yet_o will_v he_o trust_v in_o he_o although_o he_o see_v nothing_o but_o terror_n &_o wrath_n before_o he_o this_o god_n do_v to_o tame_v our_o presumption_n and_o prepare_v we_o for_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o his_o future_a glory_n if_o we_o feel_v not_o sense_n of_o assurance_n it_o be_v good_a to_o bless_v god_n for_o what_o we_o have_v we_o can_v deny_v but_o god_n offer_v himself_o in_o mercy_n to_o we_o and_o that_o he_o intend_v our_o good_a thereby_o for_o so_o we_o ought_v to_o construe_v his_o merciful_a deal_n towards_o we_o and_o not_o have_v he_o in_o jealousy_n without_o ground_n have_v we_o but_o willing_a heart_n to_o praise_n god_n for_o that_o which_o we_o can_v but_o acknowledge_v come_v from_o he_o he_o will_v be_v ready_a in_o his_o time_n to_o show_v himself_o more_o clear_o to_o we_o we_o taste_v of_o his_o goodness_n many_o way_n &_o it_o be_v accompany_v with_o much_o patience_n and_o these_o in_o their_o nature_n shall_v lead_v we_o not_o only_o to_o repentance_n but_o to_o near_a dependence_n on_o he_o we_o ought_v to_o follow_v
