but_o it_o be_v careful_o to_o be_v resist_v and_o avoid_v as_o be_v displease_v yea_o odious_a to_o god_n who_o resist_v the_o proud_a and_o give_v grace_n to_o the_o humble_a and_o in_o who_o eye_n nothing_o be_v more_o acceptable_a than_o a_o meek_a and_o lowly_a spirit_n as_o also_o hurtful_a to_o ourselves_o in_o that_o it_o make_v we_o obstinate_a and_o incorrigible_a in_o error_n and_o comfort_n the_o remedy_n of_o this_o disease_n be_v the_o consideration_n not_o of_o our_o gift_n and_o grace_n but_o of_o our_o way_n &_o sin_n the_o which_o no_o doubt_n will_v pull_v down_o these_o peacock_n feather_n and_o make_v we_o base_a yea_o vile_a in_o our_o own_o eye_n by_o this_o reason_n the_o apostle_n exhort_v the_o roman_n rom._n 12.3_o not_o to_o be_v drink_v and_o besot_v with_o any_o great_a conceit_n of_o themselves_o but_o rather_o to_o think_v sober_o and_o modest_o of_o themselves_o for_o that_o god_n have_v give_v his_o grace_n not_o all_o to_o any_o one_o lest_o he_o shall_v have_v matter_n of_o pride_n but_o some_o to_o every_o one_o that_o none_o shall_v be_v subject_a to_o the_o contempt_n of_o other_o wherein_o the_o great_a wisdom_n and_o goodness_n of_o most_o excellent_a and_o rare_a gift_n and_o qualify_v the_o abundance_n of_o grace_n with_o some_o great_a want_n or_o grievous_a sin_n as_o we_o be_v teach_v by_o the_o example_n of_o lot_n noah_n david_n and_o solomon_n that_o the_o most_o heinous_a and_o horrible_a sin_n have_v be_v find_v in_o the_o holy_a man_n and_o extreme_a folly_n in_o the_o mirror_n of_o wisdom_n sect._n 8._o the_o second_o disease_n of_o the_o mind_n be_v error_n the_o which_o usual_o come_v of_o conceit_n and_o do_v accompany_v it_o where_o we_o do_v not_o mean_v any_o light_a error_n in_o matter_n of_o small_a importance_n for_o no_o man_n either_o be_v or_o can_v be_v free_a from_o these_o as_o long_o as_o he_o be_v in_o this_o world_n but_o such_o as_o be_v near_o about_o the_o foundation_n and_o substance_n of_o christian_a religion_n &_o which_o may_v seem_v to_o endanger_v a_o man_n salvation_n as_o about_o christ_n his_o incarnation_n passion_n nature_n about_o the_o manner_n or_o matter_n of_o our_o justification_n the_o church_n or_o sacrament_n or_o any_o other_o weighty_a point_n yet_o not_o any_o such_o error_n make_v a_o spiritual_a disease_n but_o only_o when_o as_o it_o happen_v in_o a_o time_n of_o light_n and_o knowledge_n wherein_o the_o contrary_a truth_n be_v both_o plain_o reveal_v by_o god_n and_o also_o general_o or_o at_o least_o common_o acknowledge_v by_o the_o church_n otherwise_o if_o it_o be_v a_o time_n of_o ignorance_n and_o darkness_n wherein_o that_o truth_n be_v reveal_v the_o most_o grievous_a error_n that_o be_v do_v not_o argue_v the_o distemperature_n of_o the_o soul_n or_o make_v a_o spiritual_a disease_n as_o we_o know_v no_o man_n account_v he_o either_o blind_a or_o ill_o sight_v who_o can_v see_v and_o discern_v thing_n in_o the_o night_n or_o in_o the_o dark_a dungeon_n or_o he_o to_o be_v of_o a_o evil_a constitution_n of_o body_n who_o be_v infect_v with_o a_o common_a sickness_n or_o plague_n but_o it_o come_v often_o to_o pass_v that_o the_o faithful_a be_v ignorant_a when_o they_o may_v see_v the_o truth_n it_o be_v by_o other_o see_v and_o acknowledge_v in_o this_o case_n great_a error_n argue_v a_o evil_a constitution_n of_o the_o mind_n &_o a_o unsound_a judgement_n yea_o they_o make_v our_o regeneration_n to_o be_v doubt_v of_o and_o call_v into_o question_n for_o this_o be_v a_o property_n of_o a_o mind_n sanctify_a and_o enlighten_v by_o god_n spirit_n if_o not_o to_o search_v and_o find_v out_o the_o truth_n when_o it_o be_v unknowen_a yet_o to_o acknowledge_v and_o receive_v it_o when_o it_o be_v offer_v but_o notwithstanding_o all_o this_o it_o can_v be_v deny_v for_o the_o experience_n of_o all_o age_n do_v witness_v it_o that_o man_n true_o regenerate_v may_v both_o live_v and_o die_v in_o great_a and_o most_o dangerous_a error_n yea_o when_o as_o the_o truth_n be_v both_o expound_v to_o they_o by_o other_o and_o also_o seek_v for_o by_o their_o own_o labour_n and_o continual_a study_n the_o remedy_n of_o this_o disease_n consist_v in_o these_o thing_n first_o that_o we_o suspect_v ourselves_o in_o those_o opinion_n wherein_o we_o disagree_v from_o those_o who_o be_v godly_a and_o learned_a know_v that_o they_o have_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n to_o lead_v and_o guide_v they_o into_o all_o truth_n as_o well_o as_o we_o second_o in_o know_v that_o god_n do_v often_o suffer_v they_o to_o fall_v into_o gre●u●us_a error_n to_o who_o he_o do_v show_v great_a favour_n not_o only_o in_o their_o regeneration_n but_o also_o in_o immediate_a and_o extraordinary_a revelation_n so_o we_o read_v deut._n 13._o if_o there_o arise_v among_o you_o a_o prophet_n a_o dreamer_n of_o dream_n and_o give_v thou_o a_o sign_n or_o wonder_n and_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v say_v
