it_o may_v be_v pitch_n on_o a_o particular_a promise_n that_o suit_n his_o need_n yet_o he_o may_v fix_v on_o christ_n and_o on_o the_o covenant_n in_o general_a which_o be_v one_o of_o the_o main_a thing_n that_o faith_n act_v on_o and_o indeed_o unless_o himself_o be_v act_v on_o by_o faith_n his_o benefit_n fail_v and_o though_o a_o serious_a soul_n can_v get_v a_o particular_a promise_n to_o which_o christian_n hope_v to_o have_v in_o heaven_n and_o such_o as_o be_v bind_v and_o on_o their_o way_n thitherward_o shall_v have_v this_o be_v a_o general_a hint_n of_o what_o a_o heavenly_a conversation_n or_o a_o conversation_n in_o heaven_n be_v and_o because_o in_o prosecute_a the_o doctrine_n to_o be_v deduce_v from_o the_o word_n we_o will_v have_v occasion_n to_o explain_v it_o more_o particular_o we_o shall_v say_v no_o more_o of_o it_o now_o the_o doctrine_n that_o arise_v from_o the_o word_n be_v especial_o these_o four_o the_o first_o whereof_o be_v that_o there_o be_v i_o have_v our_o conversation_n in_o heaven_n and_o the_o many_o that_o he_o speak_v of_o here_o we_o take_v to_o be_v those_o of_o who_o he_o speak_v in_o the_o first_o chapter_n who_o preach_v christ_n but_o out_o of_o envy_n and_o press_v holiness_n it_o be_v like_a with_o more_o than_o ordinary_a fervour_n be_v zealous_a of_o the_o law_n and_o seek_v to_o mix_v the_o righteousness_n of_o it_o with_o the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n in_o the_o point_n of_o justification_n yet_o they_o have_v not_o their_o conversation_n in_o heaven_n as_o he_o and_o some_o other_o have_v we_o shall_v not_o prosecute_v these_o doctrine_n distinct_o see_v this_o be_v the_o scope_n of_o they_o all_o even_o to_o hold_v forth_o and_o commend_v the_o necessity_n and_o excellency_n of_o a_o to_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n even_o as_o to_o have_v a_o earthly_a conversation_n be_v to_o mind_n earthly_a thing_n to_o have_v a_o bentness_n of_o spirit_n towards_o they_o and_o to_o be_v whole_o seek_v after_o heaven_n and_o heavenly_a thing_n as_o the_o word_n be_v col._n 3.1_o seek_v after_o or_o set_v your_o affection_n on_o those_o thing_n that_o be_v above_o second_o as_o it_o import_v all_o mean_n and_o duty_n that_o lead_v to_o heaven_n seek_v say_v the_o apostle_n in_o that_o col._n 3.1_o those_o thing_n that_o be_v above_o set_v your_o affection_n on_o thing_n above_o not_o on_o thing_n beneath_o or_o on_o the_o earth_n to_o hold_v forth_o the_o earnestness_n and_o ardency_n of_o affection_n that_o christian_n ought_v to_o have_v towards_o thing_n heavenly_a and_o how_o serious_a heart-exercise_n because_o of_o the_o want_n of_o a_o heavenly_a mind_n and_o that_o not_o only_o sometime_o at_o the_o hear_n of_o a_o sermon_n or_o in_o time_n of_o sickness_n or_o when_o under_o some_o other_o trouble_n but_o in_o your_o more_o constant_a and_o habitual_a walk_n be_v it_o one_o of_o the_o great_a thing_n for_o which_o you_o blame_v and_o find_v fault_n with_o yourselves_o before_o god_n and_o though_o your_o outside_n and_o visible_a conversation_n be_v blameless_a yet_o while_o you_o look_v on_o the_o carnalness_n and_o earthliness_n of_o your_o mind_n and_o on_o the_o want_n of_o this_o divine_a and_o heavenly_a frame_n of_o soul_n it_o make_v you_o hang_v the_o head_n mar_v your_o boldness_n and_o as_o it_o be_v lay_v your_o feather_n because_o do_v what_o you_o can_v your_o heart_n will_v not_o abide_v in_o heaven_n if_o it_o be_v thus_o it_o be_v a_o token_n for_o good_a and_o some_o ground_n of_o peace_n but_o o_o how_o rare_a be_v this_o many_o of_o you_o be_v like_a have_v often_o overly_o pray_v forgive_v we_o our_o sin_n who_o never_o take_v with_o nor_o pray_v for_o the_o pardon_n of_o this_o sin_n but_o have_v lyen_fw-we down_o at_o night_n and_o rise_v up_o in_o the_o morning_n have_v your_o heart_n plunge_v and_o pudle_v in_o the_o world_n without_o once_o mind_v heaven_n in_o earnest_n and_o yet_o have_v never_o be_v challenge_v for_o it_o qui_fw-fr sad_a state_n the_o three_o use_n serve_v to_o reprove_v and_o expostulat_v for_o this_o unworthy_a carriage_n for_o have_v either_o nothing_o at_o all_o or_o but_o very_o little_a of_o a_o conversation_n in_o heaven_n we_o take_v it_o for_o grant_v that_o many_o of_o we_o be_v far_o from_o it_o and_o that_o all_o of_o we_o be_v little_a in_o it_o but_o very_o few_o even_n of_o the_o best_a be_v daily_o and_o constant_o converse_v in_o heaven_n alace_o its_o but_o now_o and_o then_o with_o many_o sad_a interruption_n for_o quicken_a this_o reproof_n and_o expostulation_n a_o little_a let_v i_o propose_v these_o few_o query_n to_o you_o and_o in_o the_o first_o place_n do_v you_o not_o know_v that_o the_o neglect_n of_o this_o be_v a_o sin_n and_o the_o and_o settle_v on_o the_o earth_n without_o mind_v heaven_n and_o be_v so_o confine_v within_o time_n as_o not_o serious_o to_o mind_n eternity_n 4._o how_o can_v you_o come_v before_o god_n with_o confidence_n and_o boldness_n who_o do_v not_o endeavour_v thus_o to_o walk_v with_o he_o can_v you_o say_v with_o holy_a boldness_n our_o father_n which_o be_v in_o heaven_n who_o conversation_n be_v not_o heavenly_a can_v you_o pray_v for_o holiness_n and_o say_v these_o word_n thy_o will_v be_v do_v on_o earth_n as_o it_o be_v do_v in_o heaven_n who_o never_o study_v to_o be_v heavenly_a in_o any_o duty_n that_o you_o put_v hand_n to_o but_o 5._o and_o above_o all_o i_o will_v ask_v you_o can_v you_o hope_v to_o die_v comfortable_o nay_o can_v you_o hope_v to_o die_v in_o safety_n as_o
