with_o god_n while_o you_o be_v at_o the_o sacrament_n you_o shall_v exercise_v your_o repentance_n in_o both_o these_o particular_n 1_o you_o shall_v labour_v to_o be_v affect_v with_o a_o true_a grief_n and_o sorrow_n foâ—_n your_o sin_n to_o that_o end_n serious_o meditate_v of_o the_o manifold_a suffering_n of_o christ_n for_o certain_o a_o due_a and_o serious_a meditation_n of_o what_o christ_n have_v suffer_v for_o our_o sin_n can_v but_o affect_v our_o heart_n with_o some_o measure_n of_o grief_n and_o sorrow_n for_o the_o same_o for_o shall_v christ_n bleed_v for_o our_o sin_n and_o therefore_o as_o he_o be_v the_o wise_a builder_n who_o build_v his_o house_n upon_o the_o rock_n so_o he_o be_v the_o wise_a christian_a who_o build_v his_o hope_n of_o salvation_n only_o you_o may_v lie_v down_o in_o sorrow_n and_o fall_v short_a of_o eternal_a life_n and_o salvation_n 3_o other_o build_v their_o hope_n of_o salvation_n upon_o their_o bare_a outward_a profession_n of_o religion_n they_o have_v be_v baptize_v and_o profess_v the_o true_a christian_a faith_n and_o thereupon_o think_v themselves_o as_o good_a christian_n as_o the_o best_a 19_o but_o as_o christ_n curse_v the_o figtree_n which_o have_v leaf_n only_o and_o no_o fruit_n so_o will_v he_o curse_v they_o who_o bear_v the_o leaf_n of_o profession_n but_o want_v the_o fruit_n of_o a_o godly_a life_n and_o conversation_n and_o it_o be_v like_a to_o fare_v with_o they_o as_o it_o do_v with_o the_o five_o foolish_a virgin_n who_o have_v their_o lamp_n of_o profession_n as_o well_o as_o the_o wise_a virgin_n but_o for_o want_v of_o oil_n in_o their_o lamp_n i._n e._n of_o grace_n in_o their_o heart_n be_v shut_v out_o of_o the_o bride-chamber_n i._n e._n out_o of_o heaven_n which_o be_v the_o bride-chamber_n of_o jesus_n christ._n 4_o other_o build_v and_o bottom_n their_o hope_n of_o salvation_n upon_o their_o civil_a righteousness_n and_o moral_a honesty_n their_o just_a and_o upright_o deal_n with_o man_n and_o the_o like_a when_o as_o many_o heathen_a who_o have_v no_o knowledge_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o so_o fall_v short_a of_o heaven_n have_v go_v further_o in_o morality_n and_o civil_a righteousness_n than_o these_o man_n 5_o other_o build_v their_o hope_n of_o salvation_n upon_o their_o religious_a righteousness_n their_o frequent_a performance_n of_o holy_a and_o religious_a duty_n they_o be_v frequent_a in_o hear_v pray_v read_v partake_v of_o the_o lord_n supper_n etc._n etc._n and_o hereupon_o flatter_v themselves_o with_o a_o hope_n of_o salvation_n whereas_o their_o best_a service_n shall_v they_o be_v weigh_v in_o the_o balance_n of_o the_o sanctuary_n will_v be_v find_v too_o light_a and_o insufficient_a to_o salvation_n be_v full_a of_o notice_n of_o these_o thing_n 1_o that_o a_o man_n may_v be_v sufficient_o humble_v and_o break_v for_o his_o sin_n though_o not_o so_o deep_o as_o other_o for_o true_a humiliation_n admit_v of_o degree_n and_o all_o christian_n have_v it_o not_o in_o a_o like_a measure_n and_o therefore_o far_o be_v it_o from_o any_o to_o conclude_v that_o they_o be_v not_o sufficient_o humble_v because_o they_o have_v not_o attain_v to_o such_o a_o measure_n and_o degree_n thereof_o as_o some_o other_o have_v 2_o though_o thou_o be_v not_o so_o deep_o humble_v as_o some_o other_o have_v be_v yet_o if_o thou_o be_v so_o sensible_a of_o thy_o sin_n and_o of_o thy_o misery_n thereby_o that_o thou_o be_v true_o sensible_a of_o the_o need_n and_o necessity_n thou_o have_v of_o jesus_n christ_n it_o be_v sufficient_a and_o thou_o may_v with_o boldness_n go_v unto_o jesus_n christ_n roll_n thyself_o into_o his_o bosom_n and_o cast_v thyself_o into_o his_o arm_n though_o thou_o never_o know_v what_o belong_v to_o the_o bitter_a throw_n and_o sting_a pang_n which_o other_o feel_v in_o their_o new_a birth_n yet_o that_o work_n be_v do_v for_o which_o deep_a humiliation_n be_v require_v namely_o to_o be_v sensible_a of_o the_o need_n of_o christ_n and_o thereupon_o to_o long_o after_o he_o thou_o may_v be_v encourage_v to_o go_v unto_o jesus_n christ_n and_o to_o rest_v upon_o he_o as_o for_o the_o pardon_n of_o thy_o sin_n here_o so_o for_o eternal_a life_n and_o salvation_n hereafter_o 3_o know_v that_o if_o thou_o be_v not_o at_o present_a so_o deep_o humble_v and_o break_v for_o thy_o sin_n as_o thou_o will_v be_v yet_o thou_o may_v be_v more_o humble_v after_o thy_o believe_a in_o christ._n for_o a_o christian_n sorrow_n and_o humiliation_n for_o sin_n and_o misery_n
