prisoner_n but_o now_o you_o be_v to_o consider_v what_o sir_n john_n can_v say_v on_o behalf_n of_o himself_o first_o he_o make_v a_o objection_n against_o the_o credit_n of_o the_o witness_n that_o they_o be_v not_o to_o be_v believe_v upon_o this_o account_n because_o they_o be_v know_v to_o be_v roman_a catholic_n their_o conscience_n indeed_o as_o to_o oath_n be_v somewhat_o large_a especial_o when_o they_o swear_v against_o protestant_n and_o therefore_o say_v he_o they_o be_v not_o to_o be_v allow_v against_o protestant_n as_o witness_n at_o least_o their_o credit_n be_v not_o sufficient_a to_o induce_v a_o jury_n to_o believe_v they_o at_o first_o he_o allege_v that_o there_o be_v a_o statute_n that_o disable_v they_o from_o be_v witness_n there_o be_v no_o such_o thing_n nor_o be_v that_o at_o all_o a_o diminution_n of_o the_o credit_n of_o their_o testimony_n for_o i_o must_v tell_v you_o they_o be_v legal_a witness_n though_o there_o be_v several_a law_n to_o punish_v they_o as_o roman_a catholic_n yet_o no_o law_n that_o render_v they_o infamous_a or_o incredible_a witness_n that_o i_o know_v of_o for_o you_o must_v know_v gentleman_n that_o papist_n be_v christian_n and_o they_o do_v swear_v by_o the_o same_o evangelist_n as_o we_o do_v and_o for_o that_o objection_n that_o they_o look_v upon_o we_o as_o heretic_n and_o may_v be_v absolve_v for_o swear_v false_o it_o have_v be_v well_o observe_v by_o the_o king_n council_n they_o will_v never_o obtain_v any_o dispensation_n whatsoever_o when_o by_o their_o swear_v they_o do_v a_o papist_n mischief_n so_o they_o be_v good_a witness_n as_o to_o their_o credit_n and_o competency_n but_o then_o he_o insist_o upon_o it_o that_o blair_n be_v not_o to_o be_v look_v upon_o as_o a_o witness_n and_o he_o tell_v you_o why_o first_o that_o he_o have_v deny_v he_o know_v any_o thing_n of_o the_o plot_n the_o occasion_n of_o that_o be_v this_o when_o he_o be_v in_o the_o gatehouse_n there_o be_v news_n in_o the_o fly_a post_n or_o post_n boy_n where_o it_o be_v allege_v that_o blair_n have_v confess_v all_o and_o that_o thereupon_o blair_n do_v say_v he_o be_v innocent_a you_o be_v to_o consider_v the_o weight_n of_o that_o objection_n suppose_v he_o have_v say_v so_o at_o that_o juncture_n and_o do_v own_o that_o he_o know_v nothing_o at_o that_o time_n by_o a_o man_n disow_v of_o a_o thing_n because_o he_o will_v not_o confess_v or_o trust_v those_o man_n with_o his_o confession_n that_o therefore_o he_o be_v not_o to_o be_v believe_v when_o he_o come_v and_o
