mean_n run_v away_o with_o that_o honour_n which_o they_o intend_v to_o give_v to_o the_o divine_a majesty_n but_o the_o question_n still_o remain_v whether_o notwithstanding_o all_o this_o the_o heathen_n do_v not_o design_n to_o worship_v the_o supreme_a god_n under_o the_o name_n of_o jove_n and_o nothing_o of_o this_o nature_n do_v show_v that_o the_o father_n believe_v the_o contrary_a and_o as_o to_o minucius_n felix_n dr._n st._n have_v produce_v a_o material_a passage_n out_o
clear_a and_o distinct_a three_o that_o it_o be_v general_a but_o i_o shall_v show_v you_o that_o this_o account_n fail_v in_o all_o those_o particular_n and_o withal_o that_o it_o do_v not_o clear_a because_o they_o be_v a_o disparagement_n of_o the_o divine_a nature_n and_o for_o this_o he_o produce_v the_o testimony_n of_o clemens_n alexandrinus_n justin_n martyr_n athenagoras_n origen_n lactantius_n and_o many_o other_o be_v this_o account_n true_a or_o false_a if_o false_a why_o be_v it_o not_o prove_v to_o be_v so_o if_o true_a why_o be_v it_o not_o allow_v be_v this_o fair_a or_o honest_a deal_n in_o pretend_v to_o answer_v and_o not_o take_v notice_n of_o the_o main_a objection_n or_o to_o give_v account_n of_o the_o father_n opinion_n of_o this_o matter_n and_o to_o say_v that_o spirit_n may_v possess_v image_n and_o be_v incorporate_v with_o they_o but_o i_o say_v this_o be_v a_o particular_a opinion_n and_o not_o the_o general_a belief_n for_o hermes_n from_o who_o s._n augustin_n give_v the_o most_o exact_a account_n of_o this_o hypothesis_n from_o the_o asclepian_a dialogue_n look_v upon_o it_o as_o a_o divine_a and_o peculiar_a art_n of_o draw_v invisible_a be_v charge_v with_o idolatry_n in_o the_o worship_n of_o image_n if_o it_o be_v for_o worship_v their_o image_n as_o god_n on_o the_o account_n of_o one_o of_o their_o god_n be_v incorporate_v in_o the_o image_n this_o i_o say_v be_v no_o account_n at_o all_o on_o t._n g.'s_n principle_n for_o then_o such_o a_o image_n be_v as_o fit_v a_o object_n of_o worship_n on_o their_o supposition_n as_o the_o adoration_n of_o the_o host_n be_v on_o you_o so_o that_o this_o be_v rather_o a_o clear_n the_o worship_n of_o image_n from_o the_o charge_n of_o idolatry_n among_o the_o heathen_n than_o give_v any_o account_n of_o it_o all_o the_o idolatry_n in_o this_o case_n lie_v in_o the_o worship_n of_o evil_a spirit_n and_o not_o in_o the_o worship_n of_o image_n 3._o this_o account_n be_v not_o general_a as_o to_o the_o heathen_n for_o many_o and_o those_o the_o most_o learned_a among_o they_o declare_v that_o they_o do_v not_o take_v their_o image_n for_o god_n as_o dr._n st._n prove_v in_o his_o first_o book_n not_o bare_o from_o the_o testimony_n of_o the_o heathen_n but_o from_o the_o father_n too_o which_o passage_n he_o repeat_v and_o urge_v against_o t._n g._n in_o
