end_n that_o i_o may_v teach_v you_o truth_n you_o will_v not_o answer_v i_o our_o lord_n by_o answer_v these_o question_n which_o be_v ask_v by_o judge_n so_o wicked_a so_o cruel_a and_o so_o undeseruing_a of_o any_o respect_n at_o this_o hand_n do_v show_v how_o free_a his_o heart_n be_v from_o all_o passion_n and_o choler_n since_o he_o answer_v with_o so_o great_a serenity_n &_o peace_n of_o mind_n and_o thereby_o he_o prevent_v that_o aspersion_n which_o they_o will_v have_v cast_v upon_o he_o if_o he_o have_v be_v whole_o

man_n who_o give_v good_a language_n thronugh_v the_o much_o gain_n and_o merit_n which_o they_o get_v in_o the_o sight_n of_o almighty_a god_n and_o in_o they_o also_o who_o hear_v the_o good_a speech_n which_o be_v use_v by_o any_o man_n of_o his_o neighbour_n work_v the_o like_a effect_n for_o thereby_o they_o be_v edify_v and_o induce_v towards_o a_o love_n of_o virtue_n the_o fourteen_o chapter_n how_o we_o be_v to_o exercise_v this_o benignity_n and_o to_o use_v this_o good_a manner_n towards_o they_o who_o use_v we_o ill_o some_o christian_n there_o be_v who_o be_v very_o term_n which_o be_v use_v to_o they_o this_o be_v no_o good_a but_o a_o ill_a spirit_n for_o that_o i_o shall_v be_v well_o condition_v towards_o my_o neighbour_n because_o he_o also_o be_v so_o to_o i_o be_v no_o love_n of_o charity_n but_o a_o love_n of_o interest_n and_o concupiscence_n and_o that_o i_o shall_v fail_v in_o courtesy_n and_o good_a condition_n towards_o another_o because_o he_o fall_v short_a therein_o towards_o i_o be_v not_o the_o virtue_n of_o benignity_n but_o it_o be_v the_o vice_n of_o revenge_n that_o which_o charity_n and_o benignity_n require_v and_o which_o god_n i_o i_o shall_v please_v almighty_a god_n much_o the_o more_o for_o i_o shall_v move_v more_o pure_o for_o the_o love_n of_o he_o and_o shall_v exercise_v more_o virtue_n and_o increase_v merit_n and_o gain_v more_o reward_n in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n for_o together_o with_o the_o benignity_n which_o i_o shall_v exercise_v by_o carry_v myself_o sweet_o towards_o my_o neighbour_n i_o shall_v gentle_a word_n the_o same_o teach_v we_o also_o that_o when_o we_o have_v authority_n in_o our_o hand_n we_o may_v use_v word_n so_o severe_a and_o prick_v in_o some_o case_n towards_o public_a and_o obstinate_a sinner_n and_o who_o by_o their_o ill_a example_n be_v pernicious_a to_o other_o as_o may_v discover_v the_o grievousnes_n of_o their_o sin_n and_o may_v disgrace_v and_o condemn_v they_o as_o they_o deserve_v that_o so_o if_o it_o be_v possible_a they_o may_v be_v reform_v or_o at_o least_o that_o other_o may_v fear_v to_o follow_v their_o ill_a example_n and_o now_o we_o will_v go_v declare_v some_o instance_n which_o christ_n our_o lord_n leave_v we_o of_o this_o truth_n in_o the_o holy_a gospel_n saint_n luke_n chap._n 13._o relate_v that_o our_o lord_n be_v then_o as_o it_o say_v before_o that_o as_o no_o humane_a invention_n or_o mean_n be_v able_a to_o make_v the_o natural_a day_n one_o minute_n short_a than_o it_o be_v so_o neither_o be_v there_o any_o mean_n to_o shorten_v his_o life_n by_o one_o minute_n and_o therefore_o the_o substance_n of_o what_o he_o say_v be_v this_o during_o all_o that_o time_n of_o my_o life_n which_o be_v give_v i_o by_o the_o holy_a life_n and_o attribute_v to_o belzebub_n those_o most_o evident_a and_o express_a miracle_n which_o he_o wrought_v by_o divine_a power_n and_o persecute_v he_o to_o who_o they_o shall_v have_v carry_v all_o veneration_n and_o exhibit_v all_o obedience_n as_o to_o the_o true_a messiah_n and_o yet_o desire_v and_o procure_v by_o all_o the_o way_n they_o can_v to_o put_v he_o to_o death_n of_o heaven_n shall_v reprehend_v vice_n and_o that_o concern_v public_a sin_n he_o shall_v reprehend_v they_o public_o and_o that_o concern_v grievous_a &_o very_a hurtful_a sin_n he_o shall_v reprehend_v they_o grievous_o according_a to_o the_o quality_n and_o perniciousnes_n of_o the_o same_o that_o so_o they_o who_o be_v faulty_a may_v well_o feel_v the_o great_a hurt_n they_o do_v and_o all_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o people_n may_v be_v disabused_a and_o not_o have_v cause_n to_o follow_v either_o the_o ill_a example_n or_o ill_a precept_n of_o their_o wicked_a teacher_n and_o governor_n and_o now_o that_o christ_n our_o lord_n may_v execute_v this_o so_o important_a office_n for_o the_o salvation_n of_o soul_n which_o be_v ordain_v to_o the_o end_n of_o true_a charity_n such_o reprehension_n of_o his_o be_v necessary_a as_o may_v declare_v the_o grievousnes_n of_o the_o hypocrisy_n and_o other_o sin_n of_o those_o teacher_n and_o the_o hurt_n they_o do_v to_o the_o people_n and_o the_o damnation_n which_o they_o provide_v for_o themselves_o by_o commit_v such_o sin_n and_o he_o tell_v they_o who_o be_v the_o principal_a author_n thereof_o namely_o the_o devil_n who_o they_o obey_v and_o the_o
that_o light_n &_o sweet_a labour_n in_o perform_v that_o work_n of_o piety_n with_o her_o own_o hand_n she_o please_v almighty_a god_n so_o much_o and_o merit_v so_o great_o in_o his_o sight_n &_o obtain_v so_o much_o honour_n throughout_o the_o world_n that_o as_o long_o as_o it_o last_v she_o shall_v be_v praise_v &_o have_v in_o veneration_n for_o this_o work_n by_o all_o faithful_a their_o good_a life_n and_o when_o man_n murmur_v against_o they_o in_o our_o presence_n we_o must_v excuse_v their_o innocency_n &_o declare_v their_o virtue_n and_o if_o it_o so_o fall_v out_o that_o we_o have_v any_o credit_n with_o the_o murmurer_n we_o must_v procure_v to_o mend_v they_o and_o stop_v the_o discourse_n and_o if_o our_o advice_n by_o way_n of_o speech_n will_v not_o serve_v we_o must_v show_v both_o by_o our_o silence_n and_o by_o our_o countenance_n that_o such_o murmur_a be_v displease_v to_o us._n this_o be_v that_o which_o the_o holy_a ghost_n do_v admonish_v say_v that_o as_o the_o sharp_a cold_a wind_n come_v from_o the_o north_n hinder_v rain_n and_o permit_v not_o through_o the_o coldness_n thereof_o that_o the_o cloud_n shall_v easy_o dissolve_v themselves_o into_o water_n so_o do_v the_o reserve_v and_o sad_a countenance_n of_o he_o who_o hear_v tie_v up_o the_o tongue_n of_o the_o murmurer_n this_o say_v the_o wise_a man_n in_o the_o praise_n belong_v chief_o to_o person_n who_o be_v much_o know_v and_o have_v authority_n or_o public_a office_n as_o prelate_n judge_n preacher_n confessor_n religious_a man_n priest_n and_o rich_a and_o noble_a person_n for_o upon_o the_o virtue_n &_o prudence_n and_o wisdom_n of_o such_o as_o these_o who_o be_v as_o the_o head_n and_o heart_n depend_v the_o virtue_n of_o the_o people_n and_o so_o the_o good_a life_n and_o incorrupt_a doctrine_n of_o these_o servant_n of_o god_n be_v general_o know_v and_o commend_v the_o rest_n of_o man_n do_v profit_n by_o it_o so_o much_o the_o more_o and_o be_v more_o edify_v by_o their_o good_a speech_n and_o virtuous_a example_n and_o therefore_o to_o praise_v such_o person_n with_o that_o discretion_n which_o be_v fit_a be_v a_o thing_n very_o acceptable_a to_o god_n and_o very_o profitable_a for_o the_o gain_n of_o soul_n let_v we_o relate_v a_o example_n which_o christ_n our_o lord_n give_v we_o hereof_o the_o disciple_n of_o saint_n this_o world_n be_v always_o in_o love_n with_o regaloe_n and_o delicacy_n in_o their_o food_n their_o clothing_n and_o their_o habitation_n and_o be_v desirous_a of_o wealth_n and_o have_v recourse_n to_o the_o house_n of_o great_a man_n where_o these_o thing_n be_v find_v in_o abundance_n but_o in_o john_n you_o shall_v see_v nothing_o of_o this_o but_o a_o life_n of_o great_a penance_n and_o
