know_v it_o be_v all_o one_o not_o to_o worship_v he_o at_o all_o as_o not_o to_o worship_v he_o in_o that_o way_n he_o like_v to_o be_v worship_v therefore_o the_o most_o part_n of_o man_n be_v but_o self-worshipper_n because_o they_o please_v none_o but_o themselves_o in_o it_o it_o be_v not_o the_o worship_n his_o soul_n have_v choose_v but_o their_o own_o invention_n for_o you_o must_v take_v this_o as_o a_o undeniable_a ground_n that_o god_n must_v be_v worship_v according_a to_o his_o own_o will_n and_o pleasure_n &_o not_o according_a to_o you●…_n humour_n or_o invention_n therefore_o his_o soul_n abhor_v will-worship_n devise_v by_o man_n out_o of_o ignorant_a zeal_n or_o superstition_n though_o there_o may_v seem_v much_o devotion_n in_o it_o &_o much_o affection_n to_o god_n as_o in_o the_o israelit_v sacrifice_v their_o child_n whatmore_o seem_v ing_z self-denial_n and_o yet_o what_o more_o real_a self-idolatry_n god_n own_v not_o such_o a_o service_n for_o it_o be_v not_o service_n &_o obedience_n to_o his_o will_n and_o pleasure_n but_o to_o man_n own_o will_n and_o humour_n therefore_o a_o man_n must_v not_o look_v for_o a_o reward_n but_o from_o himself_o now_o it_o be_v not_o only_a will-worship_n when_o the_o matter_n and_o substance_n of_o the_o worship_n be_v not_o command_v of_o god_n but_o also_o when_o a_o command_v worship_n be_v not_o discharge_v in_o the_o appoint_a manner_n therefore_o o_o how_o few_o true_a worshipper_n will_v the_o father_n find_v true_a worship_n must_v have_v truth_n for_o the_o substance_n and_o spirit_n for_o the_o manner_n of_o it_o else_o it_o be_v not_o such_o a_o worship_n as_o the_o father_n seek_v &_o will_v be_v please_v with_o divine_a worship_n must_v have_v truth_n in_o it_o that_o be_v plain_a but_o what_o be_v that_o truth_n it_o must_v be_v conform_v to_o the_o rule_n &_o pattern_n of_o worship_n which_o be_v god_n will_n &_o pleasure_n reveal_v in_o the_o word_n of_o truth_n true_a worship_n be_v the_o very_a practice_n of_o the_o word_n of_o truth_n it_o carry_v the_o image_n and_o superscription_n and_o command_n upon_o it_o which_o be_v a_o necessary_a ingredient_n in_o it_o and_o constituent_v of_o it_o therefore_o if_o thy_o service_n have_v the_o image_n of_o thy_o own_o will_n stamp_v on_o it_o it_o be_v not_o divine_a worship_n but_o will-worship_n thus_o all_o humane_a ceremony_n and_o ordinance_n enjoin_v for_o service_n of_o god_n carry_v the_o inscription_n not_o of_o god_n but_o of_o man_n who_o be_v the_o author_n and_o original_n of_o they_o &_o so_o be_v but_o adulterate_v and_o false_a coin_n that_o will_v not_o pass_v current_n with_o god_n i_o fear_v there_o be_v many_o rite_n and_o vain_a custom_n among_o ignorant_a people_n in_o which_o they_o place_v some_o religion_n which_o have_v no_o ground_n in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n but_o be_v only_o old_a wife_n fable_n and_o tradition_n how_o many_o thing_n of_o that_o nature_n be_v use_v upon_o a_o religious_a account_n in_o which_o god_n have_v place_v no_o religion_n many_o have_v a_o superstitious_a conceit_n of_o the_o public_a place_n of_o worship_n as_o if_o there_o be_v more_o holiness_n in_o it_o than_o in_o any_o other_o house_n &_o so_o they_o think_v their_o prayer_n in_o the_o church_n be_v more_o acceptable_a then_o in_o their_o chamber_n but_o christ_n refute_v that_o superstitious_a opinion_n of_o place_n &_o so_o consequent_o of_o day_n meat_n and_o all_o such_o external_a thing_n the_o jew_n have_v a_o great_a opinion_n of_o their_o temple_n the_o samaritan_n of_o their_o mountain_n as_o if_o these_o place_n have_v sanctify_v their_o service_n but_o say_v our_o lord_n vers_n 21._o the_o hour_n come_v when_o you_o shall_v neither_o worship_n in_o this_o mountain_n etc._n etc._n but_o it_o be_v any_o where_o acceptable_a if_o so_o be_v you_o worship_v in_o spirit_n and_o truth_n many_o of_o you_o account_v it_o religion_n to_o pray_v &_o mutter_v word_n of_o your_o own_o in_o the_o time_n of_o public_a prayer_n but_o who_o have_v require_v this_o at_o your_o hand_n if_o you_o will_v pray_v yourselves_o go_v apart_o shut_v the_o door_n or_o if_o a_o man_n leave_v they_o behind_o he_o he_o can_v but_o fall_v into_o a_o pit_n but_o the_o purpose_n of_o god_n will_v be_v depth_n of_o wisdom_n nay_o his_o very_a will_n be_v a_o mind_n of_o all_o these_o different_a kind_n of_o creature_n creature_n must_v have_v some_o example_n and_o copy_n to_o look_v to_o but_o what_o be_v his_o pattern_n who_o have_v be_v his_o counsellor_n to_o teach_v he_o rome_n 11._o 34._o who_o give_v he_o the_o first_o rudiment_n of_o principle_n of_o that_o art_n sure_o none_o he_o have_v no_o pattern_n give_v he_o not_o the_o least_o idea_n of_o any_o of_o these_o thing_n furnish_v he_o but_o it_o be_v absolute_o and_o sole_o his_o own_o wise_a contrivance_n 2._o this_o purpose_n of_o god_n be_v most_o free_a and_o absolute_a there_o be_v no_o cause_n no_o reason_n why_o he_o have_v thus_o dispose_v all_o thing_n and_o not_o otherwise_o as_o he_o may_v have_v do_v but_o his_o own_o good_a will_n and_o pleasure_n if_o it_o be_v so_o in_o a_o matter_n of_o deep_a concernment_n rom._n 9_o 18_o it_o must_v be_v so_o also_o in_o all_o other_o thing_n we_o may_v find_v indeed_o many_o inferior_a cause_n many_o peculiar_a reason_n for_o such_o and_o such_o a_o way_n of_o administration_n many_o end_n &_o use_n for_o which_o they_o serve_v for_o there_o be_v nothing_o that_o his_o majesty_n have_v appoint_v but_o it_o be_v for_o some_o use_n &_o reason_n yet_o we_o must_v rise_v above_o all_o these_o and_o ascend_v into_o the_o tower_n of_o his_o most_o high_a will_n and_o pleasure_n which_o be_v found_v on_o a_o depth_n of_o wisdom_n and_o from_o thence_o we_o shall_v behold_v all_o the_o order_n administration_n and_o use_n of_o the_o creature_n to_o depend_v and_o herein_o be_v a_o great_a difference_n between_o his_o majesty_n purpose_n and_o we_o you_o know_v there_o be_v still_o something_o present_v under_o the_o notion_n of_o good_a and_o convenient_a that_o move_v our_o will_n and_o incline_v we_o for_o its_o own_o goodness_n to_o seek_v after_o it_o and_o so_o to_o fall_v upon_o the_o mean_n to_o compass_v it_o therefore_o the_o end_n which_o we_o propose_v to_o ourselves_o have_v its_o
