a_o pardon_a sinner_n come_v from_o he_o like_o water_n from_o the_o cloud_n water_n will_v drop_v from_o the_o still_o but_o it_o be_v force_v by_o keep_v close_o the_o still_o and_o by_o the_o heat_n of_o the_o fire_n the_o fire_n of_o hell_n may_v make_v a_o wicked_a man_n aghast_a but_o sorrow_n for_o sin_n in_o a_o pardon_a man_n be_v like_o water_n from_o the_o cloud_n that_o be_v not_o force_v but_o do_v natural_o drop_v down_o char._n 4_o a_o four_o character_n he_o in_o who_o sin_n be_v pardon_v be_v a_o man_n in_o who_o be_v no_o guile_n psal_n 32._o some_o do_v take_v guile_n in_o a_o particular_a sense_n other_o extend_v it_o more_o large_o as_o a_o comprehensive_a word_n equivalent_a to_o sincerity_n he_o be_v a_o man_n in_o who_o spirit_n be_v no_o guile_n a_o upright_a man_n thus_o much_o for_o the_o use_n of_o trial_n i_o now_o come_v to_o answer_v the_o objection_n object_n 1_o the_o first_o objection_n i_o think_v i_o hear_v a_o doubt_a christian_a say_v woe_n and_o alas_o what_o state_n be_o i_o in_o i_o have_v misgive_a thought_n that_o god_n have_v not_o pardon_v my_o iniquity_n because_o i_o can_v find_v that_o i_o have_v a_o heart_n to_o mourn_v for_o particular_n answ_n 1_o first_o of_o all_o consider_v that_o all_o man_n have_v not_o a_o like_a natural_a tenderness_n and_o softness_n of_o disposition_n many_o be_v of_o soft_a disposition_n be_v natural_o incline_v to_o tear_n this_o be_v not_o grace_n but_o the_o ingenuousnesse_n and_o softness_n of_o nature_n all_o can_v sorrow_n a_o like_a there_o may_v be_v grace_n in_o a_o man_n if_o his_o disposition_n be_v hard_a and_o rugged_a yet_o he_o can_v shed_v tear_n as_o those_o that_o have_v a_o tender_a disposition_n answ_n 2_o second_o you_o that_o make_v this_o objection_n know_v this_o that_o there_o may_v be_v great_a sorrow_n for_o sin_n in_o the_o heart_n when_o there_o be_v no_o tear_n for_o sin_n flow_v from_o the_o eye_n tear_n from_o the_o eye_n do_v ease_n and_o lighten_v the_o mind_n there_o may_v be_v the_o great_a sorrow_n when_o it_o can_v have_v no_o vent_n from_o the_o eye_n answ_n 3_o three_o you_o that_o make_v this_o objection_n know_v you_o must_v distinguish_v of_o a_o twofold_a sorrow_n for_o sin_n first_o there_o be_v a_o judicious_a sorrow_n and_o second_o a_o sensitive_a sorrow_n first_o there_o be_v a_o judicious_a sorrow_n and_o this_o consist_v in_o a_o apprehension_n in_o the_o judgement_n that_o sin_n be_v the_o great_a evil_n in_o the_o world_n and_o most_o to_o be_v lament_v brand_a oppose_a and_o resist_v divine_v do_v place_n more_o strength_n &_o height_n of_o grace_n in_o have_v a_o indignation_n stir_v up_o in_o the_o understanding_n against_o sin_n touch_v the_o evil_a of_o sin_n this_o be_v more_o than_o to_o shed_v a_o few_o tear_n for_o sin_n now_o if_o thou_o have_v a_o judicious_a sorrow_n to_o apprehend_v sin_n to_o be_v a_o great_a evil_n though_o it_o have_v not_o vent_v at_o the_o eye_n yet_o this_o be_v godly_a sorrow_n for_o sin_n a_o man_n that_o have_v the_o toothache_n he_o will_v cry_v out_o and_o complain_v more_o and_o shed_v more_o tear_n happy_o for_o the_o exquisite_a pain_n of_o the_o toothache_n than_o he_o will_v do_v in_o the_o burn_a fever_n yet_o ask_v he_o which_o he_o have_v rather_o have_v he_o will_v tell_v you_o the_o toothache_n the_o reason_n be_v because_o the_o pestilential_a fever_n be_v more_o hazard_n ous_a to_o life_n so_o have_v you_o rather_o lose_v your_o child_n then_o lose_v the_o sense_n of_o god_n favour_n which_o have_v you_o rather_o have_v
