where_o this_o opinion_n be_v entertain_v in_o the_o persuasion_n of_o governor_n there_o church_n assert_v their_o powet_n and_o order_n to_o be_v jure_fw-la divino_fw-la and_o the_o appointment_n of_o jesus_n christ_n can_v have_v no_o better_a nor_o more_o honourable_a entertainment_n than_o a_o toleration_n or_o permission_n yet_o herein_o there_o be_v this_o remarkable_a advantage_n to_o all_o party_n that_o differ_v about_o what_o in_o government_n be_v of_o christ_n appointment_n in_o that_o such_o magistrate_n have_v a_o far_o great_a latitude_n in_o conscience_n to_o tolerate_v and_o permit_v the_o several_a form_n of_o each_o so_o bind_v up_o in_o their_o persuasion_n than_o they_o have_v to_o submit_v unto_o what_o the_o magistrate_n shall_v impose_v and_o thereupon_o the_o magistrate_n exercise_v a_o indulgency_n and_o forbearance_n with_o protection_n and_o encouragement_n to_o the_o people_n of_o god_n so_o differ_v from_o he_o and_o among_o themselves_o do_v therein_o discharge_v as_o great_a a_o faithfulness_n to_o christ_n and_o love_n to_o his_o people_n as_o can_v any_o way_n be_v suppose_v and_o expect_v from_o any_o christian_a magistrate_n of_o what_o persuasion_n soever_o he_o be_v and_o where_o this_o clemency_n from_o governor_n be_v show_v to_o any_o sort_n of_o person_n or_o church_n of_o christ_n upon_o such_o a_o principle_n it_o will_v in_o equity_n produce_v this_o just_a effect_n that_o all_o that_o so_o differ_v from_o he_o and_o among_o themselves_o stand_v in_o equal_a and_o alike_a difference_n from_o the_o principle_n of_o such_o a_o magistrate_n he_o be_v equal_o free_a to_o give_v a_o like_a liberty_n to_o they_o one_o as_o well_o as_o the_o other_o this_o faithfulness_n in_o our_o governor_n we_o do_v with_o thankfulness_n to_o god_n acknowledge_v and_o to_o their_o everlasting_a honour_n which_o appear_v much_o in_o the_o late_a reformation_n the_o hierarchy_n common-prayer-book_n and_o all_o other_o thing_n grievous_a to_o god_n people_n be_v remove_v they_o make_v choice_n of_o a_o assembly_n of_o learned_a man_n to_o advise_v what_o government_n and_o order_n be_v meet_v to_o be_v establish_v in_o the_o room_n of_o these_o thing_n and_o because_o it_o be_v know_v there_o be_v different_a opinion_n as_o always_o have_v be_v among_o godly_a man_n about_o form_n of_o church-government_n there_o be_v by_o the_o ordinance_n first_o send_v forth_o to_o call_v a_o assembly_n not_o only_o a_o choice_n make_v of_o person_n of_o several_a persuasion_n to_o sit_v as_o member_n there_o but_o liberty_n give_v to_o a_o lesser_a number_n if_o dissent_v to_o report_v their_o judgement_n and_o reason_n as_o well_o and_o as_o free_o as_o the_o major_a part_n hereupon_o the_o honourable_a house_n of_o commons_o a_o indulgence_n we_o hope_v will_v never_o be_v forget_v find_v by_o paper_n receive_v from_o they_o that_o the_o member_n of_o the_o assembly_n be_v not_o like_a to_o compose_v difference_n among_o themselves_o so_o as_o to_o join_v in_o the_o same_o rule_n for_o church-government_n do_v order_n further_o as_o follow_v that_o a_o committee_n of_o lord_n and_o commons_o etc._n etc._n do_v take_v into_o consideration_n the_o difference_n of_o the_o opinion_n in_o the_o assembly_n of_o divine_n in_o point_n of_o church-government_n and_o to_o endeavour_v a_o union_n if_o it_o be_v possible_a and_o in_o case_n that_o can_v be_v do_v to_o endeavour_v the_o find_v out_o some_o may_v how_o far_o tender_a conscience_n who_o can_v in_o all_o thing_n submit_v to_o the_o same_o rule_n which_o shall_v be_v establish_v may_v be_v bear_v with_o according_a to_o the_o word_n and_o as_o may_v stand_v with_o the_o public_a peace_n by_o all_o which_o it_o be_v evident_a the_o parliament_n purpose_v not_o to_o establish_v the_o rule_n of_o church-government_n with_o such_o rigor_n as_o may_v not_o permit_v and_o bear_v with_o a_o practice_n different_a from_o what_o they_o have_v establish_v in_o person_n and_o church_n of_o different_a principle_n if_o occasion_n be_v and_o this_o christian_a clemency_n and_o indulgence_n in_o our_o governor_n have_v be_v the_o foundation_n of_o that_o freedom_n and_o liberty_n in_o the_o manage_n of_o church-affair_n which_o our_o brethren_n as_o well_o as_o we_o that_o differ_v from_o they_o do_v now_o and_o have_v many_o year_n enjoy_v the_o honourable_a house_n by_o several_a ordinance_n of_o parliament_n after_o much_o consultation_n have_v settle_v rule_n for_o church-government_n and_o such_o a_o eccleasistical_a 1645._o order_n as_o they_o judge_v will_v best_o joint_a with_o the_o law_n and_o government_n of_o the_o kingdom_n do_v publish_v they_o require_v the_o practice_n hereof_o throughout_o the_o nation_n and_o in_o particular_a by_o the_o min._n of_o the_o pr._n of_o lon._n but_o upon_o the_o former_a reason_n or_o the_o like_a charitable_a consideration_n these_o rule_n be_v not_o impose_v by_o they_o under_o any_o penalty_n or_o rigorous_a enforcement_n though_o frequent_o urge_v thereunto_o by_o some_o our_o reverend_a brethren_n of_o the_o province_n of_o london_n have_v consider_v of_o these_o ordinance_n and_o the_o church-government_n lay_v down_o in_o they_o declare_v their_o 1646._o opinion_n to_o be_v that_o there_o be_v not_o a_o complete_a rule_n in_o
