likewise_o in_o the_o tradition_n of_o the_o catholic_a church_n as_o catholic_n maintain_v rely_v upon_o the_o true_a understanding_n of_o these_o three_o thing_n especial_o viz._n 1._o the_o way_n whereby_o christianity_n be_v settle_v in_o the_o church_n which_o will_v appear_v to_o have_v be_v by_o oral_a tradition_n and_o external_a uniform_a practice_n as_o be_v more_o secure_a from_o error_n and_o mistake_n than_o writing_n 2._o the_o occasion_n of_o the_o write_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o other_o book_n of_o the_o new_a testament_n and_o the_o benefit_n which_o the_o church_n reap_v by_o they_o 3._o the_o meaning_n of_o this_o phrase_n thing_n necessary_a to_o salvation_n and_o the_o free_n of_o it_o from_o ambiguity_n and_o misapplication_n i_o conceive_v it_o therefore_o hierome_n for_o before_o they_o be_v admit_v into_o the_o canon_n we_o may_v be_v sure_a that_o great_a caution_n and_o exact_a information_n be_v use_v so_o that_o after_o all_o this_o they_o have_v be_v now_o many_o age_n acknowledge_v by_o the_o whole_a church_n for_o divine_a write_n we_o may_v have_v a_o great_a assurance_n of_o they_o then_o of_o the_o book_n of_o aristotle_n cicero_n etc._n tradition_n in_o the_o example_n of_o king_n william_n the_o conqueror_n of_o england_n for_o first_o all_o the_o person_n live_v in_o the_o time_n of_o luther_n apostasy_n in_o all_o province_n not_o of_o one_o kingdom_n but_o of_o the_o whole_a catholic_a church_n agree_v in_o testify_v that_o their_o ancestor_n have_v deliver_v such_o thing_n to_o they_o as_o of_o tradition_n apostolical_a and_o i_o can_v not_o conceive_v it_o possible_a that_o a_o tradition_n of_o such_o a_o nature_n can_v be_v false_a add_v to_o the_o confirmation_n of_o the_o same_o doctrine_n the_o testimony_n of_o form_n of_o devotion_n feast_n time_n of_o mortification_n etc._n etc._n all_o these_o argument_n of_o certainty_n conspire_v in_o a_o far_o more_o eminent_a manner_n to_o prove_v these_o kind_n of_o
