fruit_n that_o either_o the_o ignorance_n or_o neglect_n hereof_o bring_v forth_o in_o our_o age_n and_o if_o there_o be_v no_o more_o but_o this_o the_o continual_a carnalitie_n and_o carnal_a security_n that_o every_o where_o reign_v till_o it_o be_v discover_v and_o feel_v and_o the_o distrust_n yea_o desperation_n that_o then_o rage_v when_o the_o lord_n be_v please_v to_o lay_v it_o open_v and_o to_o press_v it_o hard_a and_o home_o as_o we_o say_v to_o to_o the_o heart_n these_o be_v sufficient_a enough_o not_o only_o to_o prove_v the_o point_n but_o also_o to_o cause_v we_o in_o time_n to_o leave_v our_o great_a and_o grievous_a corruption_n and_o in_o in_o a_o good_a and_o acceptable_a season_n even_o while_o it_o be_v call_v to_o day_n as_o the_o scripture_n say_v to_o look_v to_o better_a course_n assure_v ourselves_o that_o as_o for_o popery_n it_o can_v never_o be_v repel_v but_o by_o the_o sound_n knowledge_n of_o god_n will_v reveal_v in_o his_o word_n this_o truth_n be_v as_o contrary_a to_o that_o error_n and_o falsehood_n as_o day_n be_v to_o darkness_n and_o as_o for_o assure_a comfort_n in_o distress_n or_o distrust_n it_o be_v not_o where_o to_o be_v find_v but_o general_o in_o the_o same_o word_n also_o and_o particular_o in_o the_o sweet_a promise_n thereof_o which_o as_o god_n alone_o that_o be_v altogether_o faithful_a have_v plentiful_o make_v so_o will_v he_o that_o be_v only_o almighty_a and_o do_v whatsoever_o please_v he_o both_o in_o heaven_n and_o earth_n in_o a_o acceptable_a time_n gracious_o perform_v for_o his_o glory_n and_o the_o good_a of_o his_o people_n and_o that_o therefore_o we_o shall_v endeavour_n by_o all_o the_o good_a mean_n that_o possible_o we_o can_v that_o the_o word_n of_o christ_n may_v dwell_v often_o request_v by_o some_o dear_a friend_n of_o i_o who_o i_o can_v not_o well_o deny_v to_o publish_v it_o i_o be_o bold_a under_o your_o patronage_n to_o let_v it_o pass_v to_o the_o press_n and_o to_o come_v forth_o to_o behold_v the_o light_n and_o from_o you_o to_o cause_v it_o to_o come_v to_o the_o view_v of_o other_o for_o you_o and_o their_o spiritual_a benefit_n especial_o and_o in_o this_o dedication_n of_o my_o poor_a travail_n unto_o you_o i_o can_v not_o but_o join_v you_o all_o together_o as_o one_o because_o that_o though_o as_o in_o respect_n of_o your_o several_a boldness_n so_o with_o earnestness_n father_n father_n the_o same_o spirit_n witness_v with_o our_o spirit_n that_o we_o be_v the_o child_n of_o god_n if_o child_n than_o heir_n also_o etc._n etc._n to_o the_o same_o end_n tend_v that_o of_o 1._o cor._n 2._o where_o he_o say_v we_o have_v receive_v not_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o world_n but_o the_o spirit_n which_o be_v of_o god_n that_o by_o it_o we_o may_v know_v the_o thing_n that_o be_v give_v unto_o we_o of_o god_n and_o though_o this_o be_v sufficient_a and_o indeed_o great_a than_o all_o exception_n yet_o have_v we_o beside_o the_o powerful_a work_n of_o the_o same_o spirit_n frame_v we_o and_o fashion_v we_o to_o sound_v conversion_n before_o god_n and_o to_o the_o yield_a orbr_v out_o of_o the_o sincere_a fruit_n of_o faith_n that_o be_v to_o say_v good_a work_n which_o can_v but_o assure_v i_o of_o my_o salvation_n and_o of_o god_n grace_n and_o confirm_v i_o in_o the_o certain_a hope_n of_o the_o one_o and_o the_o other_o and_o this_o be_v that_o which_o saint_n peter_n provoke_v unto_o when_o he_o say_v brethren_n g_o we_o diligence_n by_o good_a work_n to_o make_v your_o call_n and_o election_n sure_a for_o may_v be_v idle_a in_o we_o no_o very_o satan_n when_o he_o possess_v man_n will_v not_o suffer_v they_o to_o be_v idle_a much_o less_o jesus_n christ_n but_o provoke_v they_o still_o to_o honest_a labour_n and_o good_a work_n for_o by_o his_o spiritual_a power_n he_o manife_v his_o own_o strength_n in_o the_o midst_n of_o our_o manifold_a weakness_n now_o if_o that_o be_v true_a than_o this_o ensue_v thereupon_o that_o i_o be_o christ_n and_o christ_n be_v i_o as_o the_o church_n &_o faithful_a soul_n sing_v in_o the_o book_n of_o the_o canticle_n yea_o he_o himself_o with_o all_o his_o grace_n and_o merit_n whatsoever_o so_o that_o he_o which_o feel_v and_o find_v these_o effect_n in_o himself_o can_v not_o but_o must_v of_o necessity_n infer_v thereupon_o that_o he_o have_v faith_n manner_n be_v true_a as_o in_o respect_n of_o our_o spiritual_a life_n here_o in_o religion_n we_o know_v that_o god_n accept_v both_o the_o whole_a church_n &_o the_o several_a member_n of_o it_o according_a to_o that_o they_o have_v and_o not_o according_a to_o that_o they_o have_v not_o provide_v always_o that_o that_o which_o they_o have_v they_o have_v it_o from_o he_o or_o else_o how_o can_v the_o church_n &_o member_n of_o it_o rejoice_v or_o comfort_v themselves_o in_o the_o thing_n that_o they_o do_v and_o from_o hence_o be_v it_o indeed_o that_o we_o learn_v notwithstanding_o weakness_n &_o want_n either_o in_o whole_a congregation_n or_o several_a member_n not_o to_o break_v the_o unity_n of_o the_o spirit_n in_o the_o band_n of_o peace_n nor_o to_o forsake_v the_o fellowship_n of_o the_o brethren_n and_o the_o exercise_n of_o the_o church_n as_o the_o manner_n of_o sin_n be_v but_o n_o holy_a wisdom_n and_o power_n from_o above_o to_o put_v a_o difference_n betwixt_o good_a and_o evil_a and_o that_o not_o only_o in_o our_o persuasion_n but_o in_o our_o practice_n not_o forsake_v the_o good_a of_o our_o god_n for_o some_o evil_n or_o corruption_n of_o man_n adjoin_v therewithal_o nor_o yet_o for_o the_o good_n sake_n justify_v or_o approve_v the_o evil_a and_o if_o this_o be_v not_o sufficient_a yet_o we_o have_v further_a prop_n to_o our_o faith_n this_o life_n we_o can_v not_o attain_v to_o that_o fullness_n of_o faith_n which_o we_o great_o hunger_n and_o thirst_n after_o and_o though_o through_o god_n goodness_n we_o have_v gain_v somewhat_o yet_o many_o time_n we_o find_v those_o grace_n so_o eclipse_v and_o darken_v in_o we_o that_o they_o seem_v to_o be_v as_o if_o they_o be_v not_o but_o what_o mean_v we_o to_o travail_v in_o the_o strengthen_n of_o these_o point_n which_o in_o everye_o man_n mind_n and_o mouth_n almost_o be_v so_o clear_a and_o usual_a as_o nothing_o more_o the_o thing_n rather_o that_o we_o shall_v strive_v unto_o be_v this_o namely_o that_o sith_o by_o corrupt_a opinion_n we_o be_v or_o may_v be_v daily_o assault_v outward_o and_o by_o satan_n subtle_a suggestion_n and_o our_o own_o curse_a corruption_n we_o be_v continual_o provoke_v inward_o as_o to_o every_o other_o evil_n general_o so_o particular_o to_o this_o sore_a sickness_n of_o our_o soul_n distrust_n or_o doubt_v we_o shall_v in_o the_o where_o but_o as_o if_o it_o be_v be_v in_o a_o letargie_n or_o dead_a sleep_n or_o senslesnes_n pass_v three_o day_n without_o fear_n yea_o without_o conscience_n but_o if_o this_o either_o do_v not_o please_v or_o satisfy_v we_o may_v say_v further_o that_o he_o speak_v here_o of_o a_o set_a purpose_n that_o man_n have_v to_o do_v evil_a or_o to_o sin_n as_o we_o say_v against_o conscience_n he_o meaning_n that_o such_o manner_n of_o person_n so_o long_o as_o they_o continue_v in_o that_o persuasion_n and_o practice_v also_o that_o they_o can_v hardly_o or_o not_o at_o all_o determine_v touch_v the_o certainty_n of_o our_o salvation_n by_o the_o testimony_n of_o their_o own_o heart_n because_o they_o have_v a_o sting_n within_o they_o that_o witness_v the_o contrary_a for_o this_o we_o must_v know_v that_o faith_n and_o a_o good_a conscience_n be_v unseperable_a companion_n and_o go_v as_o it_o be_v arm_n in_o arm_n together_o as_o the_o apostle_n show_v 1._o tim._n 1.19_o yea_o and_o that_o the_o fruit_n accompany_v they_o be_v never_o utter_o sunder_v from_o they_o but_o at_o some_o one_o time_n or_o another_o be_v to_o be_v find_v in_o their_o measure_n where_o the_o thing_n themselves_o be_v and_o that_o therefore_o they_o that_o have_v a_o good_a conscience_n have_v boldness_n towards_o god_n and_o be_v well_o certify_v of_o his_o grace_n and_o their_o own_o salvation_n thereby_o and_o that_o this_o in_o his_o meaning_n indeed_o it_o may_v appear_v by_o sundry_a word_n before_o go_v as_o when_o he_o say_v by_o this_o that_o be_v true_a and_o sincere_a love_n to_o our_o brethren_n we_o know_v that_o we_o be_v of_o the_o truth_n that_o be_v belong_v unto_o god_n who_o he_o signify_v also_o in_o the_o word_n follow_v when_o be_v say_v and_o shall_v before_o he_o assure_v our_o heart_n which_o assurance_n bring_v with_o it_o peace_n and_o tranquillity_n can_v but_o shut_v out_o and_o kill_v as_o it_o be_v all_o doubt_v and_o again_o in_o the_o assurance_n yet_o as_o in_o respect_n of_o god_n his_o word_n his_o spirit_n christ_n absolute_a obedience_n etc._n etc._n he_o may_v have_v hope_n and_o boldness_n second_o we_o say_v that_o it_o be_v no_o good_a or_o sound_a reason_n to_o reason_n from_o the_o fact_n of_o man_n to_o or_o for_o the_o doctrine_n of_o god_n for_o man_n fact_n for_o the_o most_o part_n be_v evil_a and_o unlawful_a whereas_o all_o the_o doctrine_n of_o god_n be_v true_a and_o holy_a even_o as_o he_o himself_o &_o though_o man_n either_o in_o practice_n or_o persuasion_n will_v condemn_v he_o or_o they_o yet_o shall_v he_o be_v just_a when_o he_o speak_v and_o pute_v when_o he_o judge_v fact_n express_v or_o show_v thing_n do_v but_o never_o declare_v much_o less_o prove_v the_o lawefulnes_n gracious_a work_n of_o his_o bless_a spirit_n this_o work_n of_o change_v and_o alter_v our_o nature_n not_o only_o may_v but_o as_o we_o see_v by_o former_a and_o daily_a experience_n be_v bring_v to_o pass_v for_o as_o nothing_o can_v hinder_v he_o but_o further_o he_o rather_o when_o he_o command_v light_a to_o shine_v out_o of_o darkness_n so_o nothing_o now_o can_v stop_v his_o work_n but_o shall_v further_o it_o rather_o in_o change_v that_o curse_a and_o corrupt_a nature_n of_o we_o so_o that_o though_o this_o be_v true_a that_o by_o force_n and_o power_n of_o nature_n they_o can_v
