first_o and_o they_o be_v all_o to_o end_n and_o terminate_v there_o the_o first_o wedding_n which_o be_v the_o marriage_n of_o christ_n unto_o his_o head_n which_o be_v in_o eternity_n this_o be_v the_o glorious_a exemplar_n and_o this_o be_v the_o rest_n of_o the_o people_n of_o god_n by_o he_o thus_o to_o be_v bring_v to_o god_n and_o all_o that_o be_v after_o ward_n it_o be_v but_o a_o glorious_a project_n for_o the_o enrich_n and_o embellish_v of_o that_o marriage_n as_o i_o may_v say_v as_o if_o the_o lord_n can_v not_o show_v love_n enough_o in_o set_v up_o such_o a_o object_n as_o man_n in_o the_o person_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n from_o all_o eternity_n in_o his_o heavenly_a man_n as_o if_o he_o can_v not_o show_v love_n enough_o in_o espouse_v in_o he_o all_o his_o heavenly_a race_n that_o shall_v be_v produce_v out_o of_o he_o suppose_v christ_n as_o he_o be_v describe_v in_o prov._n 8._o where_o he_o be_v say_v to_o be_v by_o he_o and_o rejoice_v always_o before_o he_o suppose_v i_o say_v that_o christ_n have_v a_o race_n of_o man_n and_o a_o seed_n that_o he_o have_v beget_v and_o bring_v forth_o from_o that_o glory_n in_o which_o he_o be_v in_o eternity_n this_o have_v be_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o love_n in_o god_n thus_o to_o espouse_v man_n and_o to_o beautify_v and_o glorify_v man_n but_o i_o say_v for_o the_o glory_n of_o this_o love_n the_o lord_n project_n that_o this_o man_n who_o be_v the_o object_n of_o this_o love_n he_o shall_v come_v forth_o in_o a_o natural_a image_n as_o it_o be_v say_v in_o the_o 1_o cor._n 15._o first_o that_o which_o be_v natural_a and_o afterward_o that_o that_o be_v spiritual_a and_o therefore_o he_o make_v first_o adam_z a_o earthly_a man_n he_o make_v he_o first_o a_o live_a soul_n but_o yet_o here_o be_v not_o ground_n rich_a enough_o that_o be_v it_o be_v not_o dark_a enough_o to_o set_v off_o the_o love_n and_o glory_n of_o god_n and_o therefore_o this_o man_n at_o his_o man_n at_o his_o best_a be_v then_o but_o a_o earthly_a piece_n though_o pure_a earth_n here_o be_v a_o project_n for_o this_o love_n to_o go_v out_o further_o to_o man_n in_o his_o fall_n and_o therefore_o the_o divine_a counsel_n permit_v all_o that_o suffer_v man_n to_o fall_v into_o the_o utmost_a extremity_n into_o the_o worst_a of_o circumstance_n that_o can_v possible_o be_v and_o then_o from_o thence_o do_v the_o lord_n recover_v he_o and_o bring_v he_o up_o to_o the_o first_o image_n as_o a_o passage_n to_o the_o second_o and_o heavenly_a image_n he_o be_v restore_v in_o principle_n in_o christ_n but_o not_o so_o restore_v as_o to_o rest_v there_o and_o yet_o i_o fear_v there_o be_v thousand_o of_o professor_n that_o rest_v there_o that_o be_v restore_v to_o no_o more_o than_o christ_n active_a and_o legal_a obedience_n and_o they_o account_v this_o the_o new_a birth_n but_o it_o be_v not_o so_o for_o all_o that_o restore_n even_o in_o christ_n himself_o it_o be_v but_o to_o declare_v he_o to_o be_v a_o fit_a sacrifice_n a_o lamb_n without_o spot_n and_o to_o furnish_v the_o matter_n of_o that_o sacrifice_n and_o every_o saint_n have_v something_o of_o this_o spotless_a lamb_n as_o i_o may_v say_v though_o not_o in_o perfection_n he_o be_v not_o without_o spot_n as_o christ_n but_o he_o be_v without_o
spot_n in_o christ_n not_o in_o himself_o for_o if_o you_o examine_v the_o action_n of_o the_o best_a man_n and_o take_v a_o trial_n of_o they_o and_o weigh_v they_o they_o can_v hold_v weight_n before_o the_o lord_n though_o a_o saint_n in_o his_o mind_n have_v a_o more_o noble_a principle_n be_v renew_v after_o the_o image_n of_o he_o that_o create_v he_o but_o if_o it_o be_v so_o in_o christ_n that_o he_o at_o the_o very_a height_n of_o his_o legal_a righteousness_n be_v only_o thereby_o qualify_v and_o furnish_v to_o be_v a_o sacrifice_n to_o his_o father_n it_o be_v that_o which_o instruct_v we_o that_o in_o all_o our_o attainment_n in_o that_o first_o image_n we_o shall_v look_v upon_o it_o to_o be_v only_o give_v we_o for_o a_o sacrifice_n there_o be_v you_o know_v several_a offering_n under_o the_o law_n some_o be_v but_o a_o pair_n of_o young_a pigeon_n yet_o it_o be_v accept_v so_o that_o i_o say_v whether_o we_o have_v more_o or_o less_o of_o that_o active_a righteousness_n in_o the_o force_n of_o our_o first_o life_n and_o principle_n restore_v this_o be_v a_o great_a shortness_n in_o our_o knowledge_n not_o to_o know_v that_o there_o be_v in_o christ_n himself_o a_o first_o covenant-life_n a_o first_o covenant-principle_n this_o must_v all_o be_v lay_v down_o and_o part_v with_o christ_n do_v so_o himself_o and_o so_o must_v all_o he_o and_o this_o be_v that_o that_o the_o lord_n be_v carry_v on_o through_o this_o life_n we_o be_v die_v daily_o and_o offer_v up_o our_o body_n and_o i_o pray_v what_o be_v that_o body_n which_o be_v dead_a because_o of_o sin_n the_o apostle_n speak_v of_o man_n that_o be_v in_o the_o body_n of_o the_o flesh_n therefore_o this_o body_n be_v the_o body_n of_o the_o first_o creation_n light_n it_o be_v that_o image_n of_o god_n that_o be_v present_v in_o its_o perfection_n by_o christ_n in_o as_o great_a and_o absolute_a a_o perfection_n as_o in_o the_o first_o adam_n and_o it_o be_v restore_v in_o say_v the_o law_n be_v not_o capable_a to_o be_v a_o man_n husband_n as_o it_o be_v only_o a_o doctrine_n or_o as_o it_o be_v a_o form_n of_o word_n what_o be_v that_o to_o be_v one_o husband_n therefore_o you_o must_v consider_v herein_o that_o it_o be_v christ_n mark_v you_o that_o be_v the_o husband_n even_o under_o the_o law_n for_o he_o have_v a_o first_o covenant_n wise_a and_o first_o covenant_n child_n he_o be_v a_o husband_n under_o the_o law_n be_v it_o not_o say_v though_o i_o be_v a_o husband_n unto_o they_o jer._n 31.32_o i_o beseech_v you_o accept_v of_o these_o hint_n and_o weigh_v they_o i_o desire_v not_o to_o speak_v my_o own_o word_n and_o if_o i_o do_v not_o think_v that_o there_o be_v that_o in_o these_o thing_n which_o do_v main_o import_v our_o soul_n i_o dare_v and_o husband_n for_o it_o be_v christ_n that_o be_v the_o person_n in_o both_o in_o law_n and_o gospel_n moses_n be_v but_o a_o typical_a mediator_n it_o be_v christ_n that_o be_v the_o true_a mediator_n there_o be_v a_o appearance_n in_o which_o christ_n come_v forth_o which_o be_v not_o to_o abide_v but_o be_v to_o go_v away_o as_o he_o acquaint_v his_o disciple_n with_o the_o expedience_n of_o it_o then_o yet_o he_o be_v a_o bridegroom_n then_o but_o he_o be_v a_o bridegroom_n in_o the_o flesh_n and_o that_o covenant-relation_n be_v to_o be_v exchange_v for_o a_o better_a free_a hold_n of_o sin_n now_o christ_n he_o come_v in_o the_o flesh_n and_o he_o therein_o fulfil_v all_o rightousnesse_n and_o so_o do_v as_o i_o may_v say_v recover_v that_o ground_n which_o the_o first_o adam_n have_v loâ—t_o sin_n be_v enter_v upon_o the_o flesh_n christ_n he_o come_v and_o plant_v righteousness_n in_o the_o flesh_n mark_v you_o it_o be_v but_o in_o the_o flesh_n the_o flesh_n be_v that_o active_a sit_v of_o first-covenant_n life_n and_o righteousness_n in_o conformity_n to_o the_o law_n and_o letter_n which_o be_v the_o state_n which_o be_v restore_v in_o christ_n a_o believer_n have_v now_o give_v up_o as_o christ_n do_v when_o he_o give_v up_o that_o first_o life_n and_o righteousness_n to_o his_o father_n when_o he_o have_v do_v all_o and_o the_o law_n can_v require_v no_o more_o from_o he_o he_o have_v another_o piece_n of_o obedience_n which_o be_v a_o note_n above_o all_o the_o law_n what_o be_v that_o why_o he_o must_v be_v obedient_a unto_o death_n person_n in_o that_o glory_n which_o our_o nature_n have_v be_v invest_v with_o from_o his_o ascension_n then_o will_v christ_n and_o his_o bride_n the_o lamb_n and_o the_o lamb_n wise_a plant_n and_o model_n the_o world_n and_o they_o will_v have_v a_o new_a seed_n after_o that_o which_o shall_v be_v bear_v in_o christ_n own_o image_n as_o adam_n be_v say_v to_o beget_v a_o son_n in_o his_o own_o image_n which_o will_v be_v the_o new_a race_n of_o man_n and_o woman_n after_o this_o glorious_a marriage_n for_o christ_n will_v have_v generation_n of_o saint_n that_o shall_v be_v bring_v forth_o unto_o he_o in_o his_o kingdom_n in_o another_o glory_n than_o we_o have_v know_v all_o this_o time_n thus_o i_o have_v be_v carry_v whether_o i_o will_v not_o for_o what_o i_o design_v to_o speak_v i_o be_o not_o come_v to_o i_o shall_v have_v show_v you_o by_o the_o example_n and_o pattern_n of_o his_o wedding_n on_o christ_n part_n the_o glory_n of_o his_o marriage_n and_o i_o shall_v have_v pick_v out_o of_o these_o word_n the_o hope_n be_v that_o we_o shall_v be_v like_o christ_n when_o he_o appear_v the_o evidence_n of_o this_o hope_n be_v that_o we_o shall_v see_v he_o as_o he_o be_v for_o the_o hope_n itself_o you_o see_v it_o concern_v we_o our_o person_n and_o our_o spirit_n and_o that_o be_v the_o immediate_a and_o great_a concern_v and_o expectation_n of_o believer_n in_o christ_n glorious_a kingdom_n and_o at_o his_o glorious_a appear_v the_o change_n that_o shall_v be_v bring_v upon_o ourselves_o the_o glorious_a change_n that_o shall_v be_v bring_v upon_o all_o thing_n for_o he_o that_o sit_v upon_o the_o throne_n say_v behold_v i_o make_v all_o thing_n new_a be_v to_o begin_v first_o upon_o we_o it_o be_v to_o begin_v upon_o the_o saint_n and_o when_o they_o be_v change_v not_o only_o will_v all_o thing_n be_v change_v to_o they_o but_o all_o thing_n shall_v be_v change_v with_o they_o though_o not_o present_o yet_o in_o due_a course_n and_o order_n for_o the_o apostle_n say_v that_o the_o whole_a creation_n groan_n and_o travel_n in_o pain_n expect_v to_o be_v deliver_v into_o the_o glorious_a liberty_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n they_o be_v to_o be_v deliver_v into_o our_o liberty_n and_o the_o gospel_n throughout_o in_o all_o the_o privilege_n both_o of_o grace_n and_o glory_n in_o both_o state_n of_o the_o kingdom_n both_o that_o of_o grace_n and_o of_o glory_n the_o militant_a and_o the_o triumphant_a state_n do_v hold_v forth_o first_o fruit_n that_o shall_v be_v first_o visit_v and_o first_o save_v and_o then_o the_o lump_n and_o body_n first_o the_o root_n and_o then_o the_o branch_n and_o i_o do_v the_o rather_o put_v a_o note_n upon_o this_o because_o we_o be_v apt_a to_o be_v carry_v forth_o into_o other_o contemplation_n and_o expectation_n of_o the_o change_n of_o time_n the_o change_n of_o kingdom_n commonwealth_n church_n and_o overlook_v the_o fundamental_a change_n this_o head_n change_n this_o right_a change_n which_o begin_v in_o the_o person_n of_o saint_n of_o believer_n themselves_o which_o may_v be_v call_v the_o beginning_n of_o change_n as_o we_o read_v of_o the_o begin_n of_o revenge_n in_o deuteronòmy_n or_o the_o head_n revenge_n of_o the_o enemy_n so_o this_o be_v the_o head_n of_o change_n and_o in_o vain_a do_v we_o look_v for_o a_o happiness_n to_o come_v unto_o we_o by_o the_o change_n of_o our_o circumstance_n and_o of_o our_o condition_n if_o there_o be_v not_o this_o radical_a this_o fundamental_a change_n in_o our_o person_n and_o spirit_n now_o this_o change_n i_o shall_v first_o present_v it_o to_o you_o in_o the_o substance_n of_o it_o and_o then_o shall_v consider_v the_o argument_n the_o illustrate_v argument_n in_o the_o text_n and_o in_o the_o context_n first_o the_o substance_n of_o this_o change_n into_o a_o likeness_n of_o christ_n when_o he_o shall_v appear_v we_o shall_v be_v like_o he_o the_o likeness_n unto_o christ_n be_v that_o which_o can_v but_o speak_v for_o itself_o and_o commend_v itself_o sufficient_o to_o our_o desire_n can_v there_o be_v any_o better_a thing_n then_o to_o be_v like_o christ_n can_v there_o be_v a_o great_a thing_n then_o to_o be_v like_o christ_n let_v we_o but_o consider_v who_o and_o what_o he_o be_v he_o be_v the_o likeness_n of_o god_n the_o brightness_n of_o his_o glory_n the_o character_n of_o his_o person_n in_o who_o god_n have_v draw_v forth_o himself_o to_o the_o life_n he_o be_v the_o image_n he_o be_v the_o glory_n of_o god_n there_o be_v not_o any_o excellency_n in_o god_n but_o it_o be_v display_v in_o our_o lord_n jesus_n most_o beautiful_o most_o divine_o most_o advantageous_o and_o therefore_o it_o may_v well_o be_v a_o hope_n
