may_v venture_v abroad_o and_o show_v their_o head_n bold_o while_o the_o sun_n shine_v but_o can_v they_o outface_v a_o storm_n they_o appear_v like_o saint_n in_o the_o halcyon_n day_n of_o the_o church_n when_o she_o enjoy_v peace_n and_o tranquillity_n and_o flourish_n under_o the_o protection_n of_o pious_a and_o prudent_a governor_n but_o sure_o they_o will_v tremble_v at_o the_o fiery_a trial_n and_o make_v shipwreck_n concern_v faith_n in_o the_o tempest_n of_o persecution_n they_o may_v bless_v god_n when_o they_o be_v in_o prosperity_n while_o he_o make_v a_o hedge_n about_o they_o and_o their_o house_n but_o can_v they_o do_v it_o as_o hearty_o like_a job_n when_o they_o be_v in_o affliction_n a_o judas_n may_v own_o christ_n and_o cry_v hosanna_n to_o the_o son_n of_o david_n when_o he_o ride_v in_o triumph_n towards_o jerusalem_n and_o a_o peter_n may_v deny_v he_o when_o he_o be_v at_o calvary_n it_o be_v persecution_n that_o be_v the_o sure_a touchstone_n to_o try_v a_o christian_a it_o be_v that_o which_o will_v discover_v the_o true_a metal_n from_o the_o counterfeit_n for_o certain_o he_o that_o will_v ready_o lay_v down_o his_o life_n for_o christ_n sake_n will_v much_o more_o be_v willing_a to_o part_v with_o all_o his_o sin_n for_o he_o and_o will_v not_o dare_v to_o harbour_v the_o least_o lust_n which_o may_v provoke_v his_o displeasure_n but_o suppose_v there_o arise_v no_o such_o thing_n as_o persecution_n to_o disturb_v they_o but_o all_o be_v calm_a and_o quiet_a such_o person_n as_o these_o must_v needs_o be_v very_o unhappy_a notwithstanding_o for_o sure_o they_o will_v find_v but_o very_o little_a satisfaction_n in_o any_o of_o their_o action_n no_o not_o in_o their_o very_a prayer_n themselves_o for_o we_o know_v that_o god_n hear_v not_o sinner_n and_o he_o be_v
