away_o that_o be_v as_o these_o beast_n be_v strong_a to_o catch_v their_o prey_n and_o when_o they_o have_v set_v upon_o it_o do_v devour_v it_o and_o it_o be_v in_o vain_a to_o think_v to_o get_v it_o safe_a out_o of_o their_o clutch_n so_o god_n be_v incense_v he_o will_v show_v himself_o able_a and_o strong_a to_o punish_v those_o who_o have_v do_v it_o and_o it_o be_v a_o most_o foolish_a thing_n to_o think_v by_o man_n or_o any_o other_o mean_n to_o prevent_v the_o mischief_n he_o certain_o determine_v it_o be_v like_o the_o offering_n to_o take_v back_o a_o prey_n from_o the_o jaw_n of_o a_o hungry_a and_o rage_a lion_n who_o can_v rescue_v out_o of_o his_o hand_n when_o he_o declare_v war_n who_o can_v make_v peace_n man_n may_v fight_v with_o man_n but_o it_o be_v in_o vain_a to_o strive_v against_o god_n or_o to_o think_v that_o any_o mean_n or_o project_n will_v prosper_v where_o he_o be_v the_o enemy_n and_o as_o these_o savage_a beast_n when_o they_o have_v catch_v their_o prey_n and_o eat_v it_o up_o use_v to_o retire_v to_o their_o den_n and_o covert_n and_o lurk_v there_o so_o in_o allusion_n to_o this_o god_n say_v in_o the_o last_o verse_n he_o will_v return_v to_o his_o place_n that_o be_v as_o it_o be_v shut_v himself_o up_o in_o heaven_n that_o the_o earth_n shall_v no_o more_o feel_v his_o gracious_a presence_n or_o the_o comfortable_a effect_n thereof_o he_o will_v so_o leave_v they_o and_o forsake_v they_o by_o withdraw_v the_o favourable_a expression_n of_o his_o providence_n as_o that_o they_o shall_v be_v tempt_v to_o think_v he_o have_v confine_v himself_o to_o heaven_n and_o will_v no_o more_o visit_v the_o earth_n nor_o the_o child_n of_o men._n but_o all_o this_o god_n do_v not_o so_o much_o out_o of_o wrath_n and_o for_o destruction_n as_o out_o of_o love_n that_o he_o may_v at_o last_o save_v they_o and_o make_v they_o partaker_n of_o his_o great_a goodness_n they_o be_v so_o perverse_a as_o to_o resist_v his_o gentle_a method_n so_o stubborn_a as_o not_o to_o be_v wrought_v upon_o by_o his_o former_a act_n of_o kindness_n that_o he_o be_v provoke_v and_o if_o it_o be_v proper_a to_o speak_v so_o of_o the_o almighty_a constrain_v to_o take_v up_o the_o rod_n and_o to_o deal_v with_o they_o thus_o rough_o and_o severe_o but_o still_o his_o intent_n be_v not_o to_o cut_v they_o off_o utter_o from_o he_o but_o rather_o to_o bring_v they_o into_o a_o strict_a union_n with_o he_o afterward_o he_o let_v his_o anger_n out_o now_o upon_o they_o that_o they_o may_v afterward_o be_v make_v capable_a of_o his_o love_n to_o wit_n when_o they_o become_v sensible_a of_o their_o sin_n and_o folly_n in_o forsake_v the_o command_n of_o god_n and_o resolve_v to_o seek_v he_o serious_o in_o all_o time_n come_v this_o say_v he_o i_o will_v do_v till_o they_o acknowledge_v their_o offence_n and_o seek_v my_o face_n and_o as_o god_n have_v this_o end_n before_o he_o in_o their_o punishment_n so_o there_o be_v here_o a_o gracious_a intimation_n that_o the_o punishment_n lay_v upon_o they_o shall_v be_v effectual_a for_o this_o purpose_n in_o their_o affliction_n they_o will_v seek_v i_o early_o which_o word_n be_v not_o so_o much_o a_o prediction_n of_o what_o probable_o they_o will_v do_v as_o a_o promise_n what_o he_o will_v then_o by_o his_o grace_n make_v they_o do_v affliction_n have_v indeed_o some_o natural_a tendency_n to_o soften_v man_n to_o render_v they_o tractable_a and_o obedient_a but_o then_o only_a this_o be_v true_o effectuate_v when_o god_n sanctify_v affliction_n and_o give_v his_o grace_n with_o they_o and_o when_o affliction_n produce_v this_o when_o people_n be_v so_o happy_a as_o to_o be_v convert_v by_o they_o than_o god_n lay_v aside_o all_o quarrel_n he_o put_v off_o his_o anger_n and_o put_v on_o bowel_n of_o love_n and_o compassion_n he_o hide_v his_o face_n while_o man_n continue_v in_o their_o sin_n and_o transgression_n all_o the_o time_n they_o be_v go_v astray_o from_o god_n he_o retire_v within_o his_o place_n as_o be_v here_o say_v but_o when_o they_o begin_v to_o acknowledge_v their_o offence_n and_o in_o all_o sincerity_n seek_v his_o face_n than_o he_o come_v forth_o of_o his_o place_n and_o lift_v the_o light_n of_o his_o countenance_n upon_o they_o and_o speak_v comfortable_o unto_o they_o his_o go_v forth_o be_v prepare_v as_o the_o morning_n and_o then_o he_o come_v unto_o we_o as_o the_o rain_n as_o the_o latter_a and_o former_a rain_n unto_o the_o earth_n which_o both_o refresh_v it_o and_o make_v it_o fruitful_a thus_o i_o have_v explain_v the_o word_n and_o give_v you_o the_o genuine_a scope_n and_o purport_n of_o they_o in_o the_o next_o place_n i_o intend_v to_o propose_v plain_o such_o instruction_n as_o they_o afford_v and_o as_o i_o judge_v they_o both_o useful_a and_o seasonable_a so_o i_o pray_v god_n they_o may_v be_v candid_o hear_v meek_o receive_v serious_o consider_v and_o careful_o observe_v first_o then_o we_o may_v read_v and_o discern_v state_n here_o the_o cause_n and_o occasion_n of_o all_o the_o evil_n and_o mischief_n which_o come_v either_o upon_o private_a person_n or_o on_o
