at_o the_o pump_n and_o odd_a all_o himself_o it_o must_v needs_o go_v ill_a with_o the_o ship_n and_o that_o be_v in_o continual_a danger_n of_o sink_v but_o those_o gift_n that_o god_n have_v give_v the_o wife_n the_o husband_n must_v see_v they_o employ_v and_o then_o she_o shall_v be_v a_o fellow-helper_n unto_o he_o and_o bring_v a_o blessing_n upon_o the_o family_n by_o her_o labour_n and_o so_o much_o for_o the_o duty_n of_o husband_n and_o wife_n which_o i_o do_v not_o so_o speak_v as_o though_o be_v be_v in_o the_o power_n or_o nature_n of_o any_o man_n or_o woman_n to_o perform_v these_o duty_n nay_o by_o nature_n man_n be_v incline_v to_o the_o contrary_n the_o wife_n be_v natural_o disobedient_a and_o stubborn_a prone_a to_o conteme_z and_o despise_v her_o husband_n and_o he_o be_v prone_a to_o be_v wander_v abroad_o and_o take_v more_o delight_n in_o any_o one_o company_n then_o his_o own_o wife_n and_o if_o he_o be_v with_o she_o at_o any_o time_n he_o be_v so_o destitute_a of_o all_o true_a save_a knowledge_n as_o that_o he_o be_v ready_a always_o to_o be_v either_o light_n or_o foolish_a or_o else_o sour_a and_o churlish_a and_o to_o do_v she_o hurt_v by_o his_o example_n and_o make_v she_o worse_o rather_o than_o better_a and_o both_o of_o they_o be_v destitute_a of_o all_o true_a and_o spiritual_a love_n one_o of_o the_o other_o but_o god_n show_v these_o duty_n in_o his_o word_n to_o the_o end_n that_o we_o see_v our_o sin_n and_o our_o weakness_n may_v bewail_v our_o want_n before_o god_n and_o beseech_v he_o that_o require_v these_o thing_n at_o our_o hand_n to_o work_v these_o thing_n in_o our_o heart_n and_o as_o he_o have_v give_v we_o these_o good_a commandment_n &_o to_o give_v we_o grace_n to_o make_v our_o heart_n good_a to_o keep_v the_o commandment_n and_o he_o that_o make_v this_o use_n of_o the_o law_n he_o profit_v by_o the_o doctrine_n but_o if_o any_o be_v so_o blind_a and_o so_o unacquainted_a with_o the_o wickedness_n of_o his_o own_o heart_n as_o that_o he_o dream_v of_o some_o strength_n in_o himself_o to_o do_v these_o duty_n it_o be_v certain_a he_o never_o do_v perform_v any_o of_o they_o in_o of_o public_a person_n follow_v which_o be_v either_o in_o church_n as_o minister_v and_o people_n commonweal_n as_o magistrate_n and_o subject_n for_o the_o minister_n and_o people_n it_o be_v evident_a that_o the_o minister_n be_v a_o father_n it_o be_v plain_a 1._o cor._n 4._o where_o paul_n though_o you_o have_v many_o teacher_n yet_o i_o have_v beget_v you_o unto_o christ_n and_o paul_n call_v timothy_n and_o titus_n his_o child_n because_o as_o their_o natural_a parent_n be_v instrument_n of_o god_n to_o beget_v they_o to_o a_o natural_a life_n so_o he_o be_v god_n instrument_n to_o beget_v he_o to_o a_o spiritual_a life_n now_o the_o duty_n of_o the_o minister_n and_o people_n be_v either_o common_a or_o special_a the_o common_a duty_n which_o mutual_o belong_v to_o they_o both_o be_v to_o pray_v one_o for_o another_o and_o to_o give_v thanks_o one_o for_o another_o that_o the_o minister_n ought_v to_o pray_v for_o the_o people_n the_o continual_a example_n and_o practice_n of_o paul_n almost_o in_o all_o his_o epistle_n do_v declare_v as_o to_o the_o philip._n coloss_n thess_n for_o who_o he_o write_v that_o he_o give_v thanks_o to_o god_n and_o pray_v day_n and_o night_n for_o their_o increase_n in_o all_o good_a grace_n by_o paul_n example_n than_o minister_n must_v learn_v to_o pray_v to_o god_n in_o secret_a for_o the_o flock_n commit_v to_o their_o charge_n that_o god_n will_v pardon_v all_o their_o sin_n and_o heal_v their_o nature_n and_o make_v his_o doctrine_n effectual_a to_o work_v grace_n and_o salvation_n in_o their_o heart_n and_o then_o if_o god_n have_v hear_v his_o prayer_n and_o bless_v his_o preach_n to_o convert_v the_o heart_n of_o his_o people_n &_o to_o save_v their_o soul_n he_o must_v not_o let_v this_o slip_n but_o mark_v and_o observe_v and_o return_v thanks_o unto_o god_n for_o it_o so_o 1_o sam._n 12._o 23._o the_o people_n be_v affright_v with_o god_n fearful_a sign_n and_o see_v their_o sin_n than_o they_o come_v unto_o samuel_n the_o prophet_n of_o god_n as_o common_o it_o be_v the_o practice_n of_o man_n in_o time_n of_o prosperity_n to_o set_v light_n by_o the_o minister_n and_o not_o to_o regard_v direction_n so_o in_o affliction_n they_o come_v to_o samuel_n and_o earnest_o desire_v he_o to_o pray_v for_o they_o then_o his_o answer_n be_v god_n forbid_v that_o i_o shall_v sin_v against_o god_n to_o deliver_v aright_o and_o divide_v the_o word_n of_o truth_n to_o be_v with_o his_o meditation_n and_o direct_v his_o tongue_n that_o he_o may_v to_o their_o conscience_n and_o for_o their_o edify_n and_o again_o if_o at_o any_o time_n god_n have_v pour_v down_o more_o plentiful_a grace_n upon_o their_o minister_n that_o he_o have_v be_v better_o stir_v up_o to_o teach_v they_o and_o have_v speak_v with_o more_o power_n and_o zeal_n then_o ordinary_a more_o earnest_o reprove_v their_o sin_n and_o exhort_v they_o to_o repentance_n yet_o they_o take_v it_o but_o as_o a_o ordinary_a thing_n and_o let_v it_o pass_v without_o any_o notice_n as_o though_o it_o be_v not_o any_o mercy_n of_o god_n to_o prepare_v the_o minister_n mouth_n to_o speak_v to_o their_o conscience_n and_o because_o they_o be_v thus_o slack_a in_o desire_v and_o negligent_a in_o thanksgiving_n for_o so_o great_a a_o favour_n god_n do_v just_o deprive_v
while_n he_o can_v with_o that_o spirit_n and_o courage_n pray_v to_o god_n for_o you_o and_o so_o powerful_o and_o cheerful_o preach_v the_o word_n of_o god_n unto_o you_o this_o confute_v they_o that_o brag_n of_o there_o good_a deal_n with_o the_o minister_n and_o think_v they_o pay_v he_o all_o his_o due_n as_o well_o as_o any_o man_n and_o take_v it_o as_o a_o wrong_n that_o the_o minister_n esteem_v not_o of_o they_o as_o well_o as_o he_o do_v of_o any_o but_o do_v they_o perform_v their_o duty_n and_o what_o duty_n be_v it_o they_o perform_v do_v they_o obey_v the_o gospel_n which_o he_o preach_v and_o submit_v themselves_o to_o his_o doctrine_n this_o be_v the_o heart_n of_o duty_n and_o where_o this_o be_v not_o there_o be_v no_o duty_n do_v worth_a thanks_n lest_o they_o they_o convert_v they_o do_v not_o pay_v the_o minister_n his_o due_n for_o a_o faithful_a pastor_n and_o man_n of_o god_n regard_v not_o so_o much_o the_o tithe_n and_o look_n not_o to_o the_o fleece_n he_o come_v as_o christ_n say_v to_o peter_n to_o be_v a_o fisher_n of_o man_n and_o if_o they_o will_v not_o be_v draw_v out_o of_o their_o lust_n and_o sin_n by_o his_o preach_n it_o be_v no_o duty_n for_o he_o that_o neglect_v obedience_n to_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o ministry_n be_v a_o ill_a sheep_n and_o ungodly_a person_n show_v what_o kindness_n he_o will_v to_o the_o particular_a person_n of_o the_o minister_n the_o last_o duty_n of_o the_o people_n to_o the_o minister_n be_v to_o perform_v maintenance_n unto_o he_o both_o for_o his_o relief_n and_o sustenance_n as_o also_o for_o his_o defence_n against_o the_o wrong_n of_o ill_a depose_a person_n for_o his_o relief_n and_o sustenance_n that_o be_v command_v galat._n 6._o 6._o let_v he_o that_o be_v teach_v in_o the_o word_n make_v he_o that_o haih_o teach_v he_o partaker_n of_o all_o his_o good_n be_v not_o deceive_v god_n be_v not_o mock_v etc._n etc._n where_o will_v they_o that_o be_v teach_v to_o provide_v for_o the_o maintenance_n of_o the_o minister_n he_o meet_v with_o common_a corruption_n of_o man_n that_o think_v all_o be_v get_v that_o they_o can_v cozen_v and_o deceive_v the_o minister_n of_o and_o therefore_o carnal_a man_n be_v never_o more_o witty_a in_o any_o thing_n then_o in_o withhold_v his_o due_n but_o he_o say_v be_v not_o deceive_v as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v you_o think_v to_o deceive_v a_o other_o but_o indeed_o you_o overreach_v yourself_o yourselves_o be_v deceive_v at_o the_o length_n for_o though_o this_o cunning_a deal_n may_v happy_o be_v hide_v from_o man_n and_o do_v so_o close_o that_o it_o shall_v not_o be_v know_v yet_o god_n will_v not_o be_v thus_o mock_v he_o see_v and_o know_v man_n fetch_n well_o enough_o it_o be_v no_o colour_n with_o he_o that_o search_v the_o heart_n for_o if_o you_o deal_v thus_o wrongful_o make_v a_o account_n that_o as_o you_o sow_v so_o you_o shall_v reap_v such_o as_o your_o seed_n time_n be_v such_o shall_v be_v your_o harvest_n this_o your_o corrupt_a and_o unjust_a deal_n shall_v get_v but_o a_o sorry_a reward_n and_o such_o as_o shall_v bring_v but_o small_a comfort_n to_o yourselves_o and_o in_o a_o other_o place_n the_o apostle_n say_v if_o they_o give_v spiritual_a thing_n be_v it_o a_o great_a matter_n that_o they_o receive_v calnall_a and_o those_o that_o serve_v at_o the_o altar_n live_v by_o the_o altar_n so_o that_o it_o be_v the_o people_n duty_n free_o and_o without_o grudge_v to_o help_v the_o minister_n with_o sufficient_a allowance_n for_o matter_n of_o this_o life_n last_o they_o must_v give_v he_o maintenance_n against_o the_o wrong_n of_o bad_a man_n as_o it_o be_v note_v of_o aquila_n and_o priscilla_n that_o they_o stand_v for_o paul_n and_o that_o be_v not_o a_o thing_n that_o he_o alone_o be_v bind_v to_o be_v thankful_a to_o they_o for_o but_o in_o so_o do_v they_o deserve_v thanks_n of_o the_o whole_a church_n which_o receive_v good_a by_o his_o ministry_n and_o if_o this_o duty_n be_v careful_o perform_v persecuter_n will_v not_o be_v so_o bold_a and_o audacious_a to_o molest_v and_o trouble_v the_o minister_n and_o faithful_a man_n of_o god_n as_o they_o be_v but_o it_o come_v oft_o so_o to_o pass_v that_o though_o the_o minister_n be_v in_o all_o thing_n faithful_a to_o his_o power_n and_o bear_v such_o a_o love_n unto_o his_o people_n as_o that_o he_o will_v part_v with_o his_o blood_n to_o do_v they_o good_a yet_o let_v but_o some_o vild_a person_n of_o a_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a life_n as_o indeed_o the_o devil_n never_o lack_v such_o instrument_n to_o vex_v god_n minister_n let_v some_o but_o base_a limb_n of_o the_o devil_n step_v forth_o to_o set_v himself_o against_o the_o minister_n and_o to_o persecute_v he_o many_o in_o the_o congregation_n will_v be_v ready_a to_o join_v with_o he_o and_o have_v their_o hand_n in_o as_o deep_a as_o any_o but_o other_o of_o the_o better_a sort_n have_v no_o courage_n to_o stand_v for_o he_o and_o to_o defend_v his_o good_a cause_n many_o think_v they_o do_v not_o break_v the_o five_o commandment_n and_o yet_o know_v that_o god_n have_v say_v that_o he_o that_o malice_n of_o the_o devil_n and_o his_o limb_n wicked_a persecutor_n but_o this_o be_v a_o most_o soul_n fault_n for_o if_o any_o have_v a_o good_a friend_n to_o who_o he_o be_v much_o behold_v and_o of_o who_o he_o have_v receive_v many_o benefit_n no_o man_n almost_o be_v so_o cowardly_a and_o base_a mind_v but_o if_o he_o hear_v one_o rail_v upon_o he_o and_o abuse_v he_o he_o will_v take_v courage_n to_o speak_v for_o he_o and_o for_o his_o credit_n but_o who_o almost_o can_v be_v find_v of_o many_o in_o a_o parish_n that_o can_v afford_v a_o good_a word_n for_o the_o minister_n nay_o be_v not_o most_o of_o this_o mind_n that_o if_o he_o be_v molest_v all_o be_v lose_v that_o fall_v beside_o thus_o much_o for_o the_o duty_n of_o the_o people_n the_o minister_n particular_a duty_n follow_v the_o first_o be_v to_o be_v a_o good_a example_n and_o pattern_n unto_o they_o in_o love_n in_o faith_n in_o patience_n and_o in_o every_o good_a duty_n as_o 1._o tim._n 4._o 12._o let_v no_o man_n despise_v thy_o youth_n i_o but_o might_n timothy_n say_v can_v i_o keep_v they_o from_o despise_v my_o youth_n i_o can_v hinder_v it_o yet_o show_v thyself_o a_o example_n to_o those_o how_o he_o must_v govern_v his_o servant_n and_o order_v his_o child_n and_o his_o whole_a household_n else_o if_o he_o lay_v load_n of_o doctrine_n upon_o other_o and_o do_v nothing_o himself_o they_o may_v say_v physician_n heal_v thyself_o and_o pull_v out_o the_o beam_n out_o of_o thy_o own_o eye_n thou_o hypocrite_n &_o this_o will_v make_v all_o his_o preach_v fruitless_o &_o vain_a the_o word_n and_o gospel_n of_o christ_n that_o so_o his_o people_n may_v be_v prepare_v as_o a_o fit_a and_o pure_a virgin_n to_o marry_v christ_n and_o so_o far_o
heart_n of_o god_n people_n they_o be_v as_o heathen_a man_n their_o soul_n be_v cut_v of_o from_o the_o church_n they_o have_v no_o life_n of_o grace_n no_o fruit_n or_o work_n of_o the_o word_n and_o sacrament_n more_o than_o of_o any_o idle_a tale_n and_o profane_a story_n no_o grace_n wrought_v by_o it_o no_o death_n of_o sin_n no_o hope_n nor_o desire_n of_o heaven_n but_o live_v as_o beast_n no_o recourse_n to_o god_n in_o christ_n jesus_n nor_o no_o virtue_n that_o they_o draw_v from_o christ_n so_o that_o indeed_o they_o do_v not_o live_v in_o christ_n but_o be_v dead_a in_o their_o spirit_n while_o they_o live_v in_o their_o body_n they_o may_v say_v indeed_o &_o say_v true_a that_o they_o can_v see_v no_o good_a by_o the_o exercise_n of_o the_o sabbath_n they_o be_v unpleasant_a to_o they_o and_o unprofitable_a so_o that_o they_o have_v no_o benefit_n by_o it_o and_o why_o be_v this_o not_o because_o god_n ordinance_n want_v their_o force_n &_o virtue_n but_o because_o they_o want_v reverence_n of_o they_o and_o be_v wicked_a contemn_v they_o therefore_o their_o soul_n be_v cut_v of_o their_o heart_n harden_v they_o have_v forfeit_v their_o salvation_n then_o a_o other_o ill_a effect_n be_v as_o in_o jerem._n 17._o where_o he_o say_v if_o they_o pollute_v his_o sabbath_n he_o will_v kindle_v a_o fire_n in_o their_o house_n that_o shall_v not_o be_v to_o it_o of_o force_n necessity_n compel_v they_o and_o what_o necessity_n why_o such_o thing_n lie_v to_o be_v do_v that_o will_v be_v spoil_v else_o why_o but_o why_o do_v you_o forget_v they_o before_o now_o shall_v your_o former_a forgetfulness_n be_v a_o warrant_n for_o you_o to_o steal_v god_n holy_a time_n and_o abuse_v it_o to_o unholy_a thing_n some_o have_v a_o bond_n to_o pay_v that_o will_v be_v forfeit_v else_o and_o why_o do_v you_o not_o remember_v before_o to_o make_v your_o condition_n with_o such_o a_o exception_n unless_o it_o be_v on_o the_o sabbath_n and_o then_o to_o defer_v it_o for_o some_o reasonable_a time_n after_o or_o some_o such_o like_a condition_n and_o so_o i_o have_v this_o and_o this_o thing_n that_o must_v be_v do_v and_o why_o do_v not_o you_o think_v of_o this_o before_o to_o prevent_v it_o as_o it_o be_v sure_a you_o may_v if_o you_o do_v serve_v god_n in_o your_o call_n and_o not_o covetousness_n so_o other_o say_v it_o be_v so_o tedious_a and_o irksome_a to_o spend_v that_o day_n holy_a that_o they_o can_v endure_v it_o and_o why_o be_v it_o tedious_a to_o you_o be_v it_o not_o because_o you_o prepare_v not_o your_o soul_n to_o keep_v it_o you_o let_v sin_n keep_v dominion_n in_o your_o hart_n all_o the_o week_n and_o then_o it_o must_v needs_o be_v dull_a and_o dead_a to_o all_o goodness_n on_o the_o seven_o day_n but_o those_o that_o do_v labour_n to_o walk_v uprightlie_o &_o pure_o before_o god_n six_o day_n find_v such_o comfort_n thereby_o as_o no_o outward_a pleasure_n can_v bring_v nor_o any_o thing_n in_o this_o world_n but_o only_o the_o ordinance_n of_o god_n can_v afford_v second_o this_o teach_v we_o to_o lay_v as_o a_o duty_n every_o one_o upon_o his_o own_o conscience_n to_o remember_v this_o day_n &_o in_o all_o our_o affair_n to_o have_v this_o in_o our_o mind_n that_o we_o entangle_v not_o ourselves_o by_o any_o business_n which_o may_v hinder_v we_o from_o keep_v of_o it_o first_o because_o we_o have_v so_o direct_a a_o item_n as_o we_o call_v it_o to_o remember_v this_o day_n second_o because_o whereas_o god_n content_v himself_o in_o all_o the_o other_o commandment_n to_o set_v they_o down_o either_o only_a affirmative_o or_o only_o negativelie_a he_o have_v not_o do_v so_o in_o this_o commandment_n but_o to_o set_v the_o deep_a impression_n in_o our_o heart_n have_v set_v it_o down_o both_o affirmativelie_a and_o negative_o keep_v it_o holy_a say_v he_o and_o as_o though_o that_o be_v not_o enough_o do_v no_o manner_n of_o work_n in_o it_o and_o then_o whereas_o other_o of_o the_o commandment_n for_o the_o most_o part_n have_v no_o reason_n annex_v to_o they_o in_o the_o decalogue_n though_o in_o the_o scripture_n else_o where_o they_o have_v this_o and_o the_o second_o commandment_n have_v diverse_a reason_n add_v unto_o they_o that_o man_n may_v have_v a_o great_a regard_n unto_o it_o therefore_o if_o we_o will_v do_v any_o thing_n for_o god_n sake_n then_o do_v this_o for_o his_o sake_n if_o a_o friend_n shall_v come_v to_o we_o and_o say_v i_o have_v some_o ten_o errand_n which_o i_o will_v have_v you_o do_v for_o i_o and_o i_o will_v recompense_v you_o thorough_o for_o your_o pain_n but_o of_o all_o the_o ten_o there_o be_v one_o among_o the_o rest_n which_o i_o will_v have_v you_o especial_o to_o remember_v and_o of_o all_o love_n see_v that_o you_o forget_v it_o not_o will_v not_o one_o think_v he_o very_o negligent_a and_o unmindful_a of_o his_o friend_n that_o will_v forget_v this_o of_o which_o he_o have_v such_o a_o special_a charge_n especial_o if_o his_o friend_n shall_v in_o most_o of_o the_o other_o give_v but_o the_o bare_a commandment_n and_o thing_n set_v down_o without_o any_o more_o word_n but_o shall_v insist_v upon_o that_o and_o give_v he_o reason_n upon_o reason_n why_o he_o shall_v have_v a_o special_a care_n of_o it_o but_o so_o god_n say_v to_o we_o he_o give_v we_o warn_v before_o show_v that_o we_o be_v ready_a to_o forget_v it_o but_o he_o will_v have_v we_o strive_v against_o this_o forgetfulness_n and_o then_o because_o we_o shall_v not_o forget_v but_o do_v it_o he_o urge_v it_o with_o many_o reason_n now_o then_o to_o forget_v this_o be_v it_o not_o a_o plain_a contempt_n and_o neglect_n it_o follow_v to_o keep_v it_o holy_a now_o the_o lord_n show_v what_o be_v to_o be_v do_v on_o the_o sabbath_n day_n namely_o we_o must_v keep_v it_o holy_a it_o be_v not_o enough_o to_o forbear_v our_o own_o work_n and_o so_o to_o keep_v it_o idle_o but_o we_o must_v be_v as_o careful_a to_o do_v god_n work_v and_o so_o to_o keep_v it_o holy_a hence_o than_o we_o learn_v this_o doctrine_n that_o the_o sabbath_n must_v be_v employ_v in_o holy_a exercise_n it_o must_v not_o be_v a_o bare_a rest_n but_o a_o sanctify_a rest_n so_o cease_v from_o worldly_a thing_n as_o that_o we_o be_v take_v up_o in_o heavenly_a thing_n for_o idleness_n be_v a_o sin_n every_o day_n but_o much_o more_o on_o the_o sabbath_n no_o man_n have_v allowance_n in_o god_n word_n to_o spend_v any_o time_n idle_o but_o it_o be_v a_o damnable_a sin_n in_o the_o week_n day_n much_o less_o be_v we_o warrant_v to_o spend_v god_n time_n unprofitablie_o and_o idle_o of_o the_o twain_o it_o be_v better_o leave_v one_o own_o work_n undo_v upon_o one_o own_o day_n permit_v for_o his_o labour_n than_o god_n work_n on_o god_n day_n appoint_v for_o his_o service_n now_o the_o reason_n why_o this_o must_v be_v spend_v only_o in_o holy_a exercise_n be_v take_v from_o the_o ill_a effect_n that_o will_v follow_v if_o we_o do_v not_o spend_v it_o in_o these_o work_n these_o ill_a effect_n we_o shall_v see_v in_o exod._n 31._o 12._o where_o god_n command_v they_o that_o they_o shall_v abstain_v from_o excommunication_n these_o be_v the_o punishment_n of_o pollute_v the_o sabbath_n no_o small_a punishment_n and_o these_o god_n do_v execute_v daily_o even_o among_o we_o for_o though_o the_o law_n after_o examination_n of_o our_o own_o heart_n and_o find_v out_o of_o our_o sinful_a way_n with_o repentance_n and_o sorrow_n for_o the_o same_o to_o beseech_v god_n that_o he_o will_v prepare_v and_o fit_v our_o heart_n to_o profit_n by_o the_o public_a exercise_n of_o religion_n on_o the_o sabbath_n and_o to_o entreat_v he_o that_o he_o will_v so_o direct_v the_o minister_n mouth_n be_v that_o he_o may_v speak_v to_o our_o heart_n and_o say_v something_o that_o serve_v to_o kill_v our_o sin_n and_o to_o comfort_n and_o build_v up_o our_o soul_n that_o as_o he_o be_v appoint_v for_o a_o physician_n so_o he_o will_v fit_v we_o with_o some_o medicine_n as_o well_o as_o other_o as_o saint_n paul_n bid_v they_o pray_v for_o he_o that_o he_o may_v have_v the_o door_n of_o utterance_n and_o when_o one_o do_v this_o in_o a_o humble_a hart_n desire_v to_o repent_v and_o turn_v from_o his_o sin_n in_o good_a earnest_n he_o shall_v never_o come_v to_o the_o sermon_n but_o he_o shall_v hear_v some_o one_o lesson_n or_o other_o that_o will_v make_v he_o better_o and_o he_o shall_v have_v cause_n to_o thank_v god_n for_o it_o but_o if_o one_o come_v rude_o into_o god_n house_n from_o brawl_a &_o chide_v at_o home_n or_o so_o soon_o as_o he_o be_v out_o of_o his_o bed_n to_o come_v to_o the_o church_n without_o prepare_v his_o hart_n or_o fit_v himself_o by_o any_o prayer_n to_o god_n or_o confession_n and_o sorrow_n for_o his_o sin_n than_o he_o shall_v feel_v that_o to_o his_o unclean_a hart_n all_o thing_n be_v unclean_a the_o word_n shall_v be_v but_o a_o tediousness_n &_o serve_v to_o the_o further_o harden_v of_o his_o hart_n also_o one_o must_v read_v some_o part_n of_o the_o scripture_n private_o that_o may_v season_v his_o hart_n and_o settle_v and_o quiet_v his_o mind_n &_o affection_n that_o he_o may_v be_v more_o teachable_a and_o that_o he_o may_v the_o better_o fit_v himself_o after_o this_o sort_n he_o be_v to_o rise_v betimes_o in_o the_o morning_n for_o there_o be_v none_o so_o good_a a_o master_n no_o work_n so_o good_a in_o itself_o nor_o none_o that_o will_v bring_v so_o great_a a_o reward_n &_o therefore_o we_o shall_v rise_v as_o early_o to_o serve_v this_o master_n in_o this_o work_n as_o any_o day_n else_o for_o any_o other_o work_n and_o if_o we_o do_v thus_o we_o may_v have_v sufficient_a to_o provide_v for_o the_o public_a exercise_n that_o we_o may_v come_v unto_o they_o with_o profit_n also_o a_o other_o private_a work_n of_o the_o sabbath_n be_v to_o releâ—ue_v and_o visit_v they_o that_o be_v sick_a or_o in_o any_o kind_n of_o misery_n and_o so_o also_o to_o reconcile_v those_o that_o be_v at_o jar_n and_o discord_n further_o also_o to_o meditate_v upon_o the_o word_n that_o we_o have_v hear_v and_o to_o ponder_v of_o it_o to_o apply_v it_o to_o ourselves_o to_o mark_v what_o we_o have_v remember_v what_o we_o have_v lay_v up_o in_o our_o heart_n and_o purpose_n to_o follow_v and_o how_o matter_n stand_v betwixt_o god_n and_o ourselves_o in_o the_o thing_n that_o have_v be_v deliver_v for_o till_o the_o word_n be_v thus_o make_v our_o own_o it_o be_v but_o as_o chaff_n lie_v loose_a in_o the_o hart_n that_o every_o puff_n of_o wind_n will_v drive_v away_o and_o every_o temptation_n will_v blow_v from_o us._n it_o be_v not_o as_o a_o treasure_n lock_v up_o that_o will_v stand_v we_o in_o some_o steed_n in_o the_o time_n of_o need_n likewise_o to_o confer_v with_o other_o christian_n among_o who_o we_o live_v &_o to_o talk_v of_o the_o thing_n teach_v call_v they_o to_o mind_n and_o how_o they_o be_v prove_v unto_o we_o and_o then_o further_o to_o enlarge_v they_o according_a to_o our_o own_o particular_a necessity_n and_o as_o it_o be_v to_o spread_v the_o medicine_n upon_o one_o a_o other_o heart_n these_o be_v the_o private_a thing_n which_o as_o every_o one_o be_v more_o careful_a to_o perform_v so_o shall_v he_o receive_v a_o more_o large_a and_o abundant_a blessing_n upon_o the_o public_a now_o the_o public_a themselves_o be_v to_o join_v with_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o congregasion_n in_o pray_v and_o praise_v god_n with_o one_o hart_n and_o voice_n in_o diligent_a attend_v to_o the_o word_n public_o read_v &_o preach_v for_o there_o be_v a_o great_a blessing_n promise_v to_o this_o ministerial_a read_n then_o to_o any_o man_n read_v at_o home_n then_o also_o the_o use_n of_o the_o sacrament_n as_o to_o be_v present_a at_o baptism_n for_o the_o depart_n away_o argue_v a_o great_a contempt_n of_o it_o and_o with_o a_o public_a disgrace_n of_o partaker_n of_o the_o new_a covenant_n and_o join_v to_o christ_n jesus_n and_o to_o examine_v himself_o what_o fruit_n he_o have_v feel_v in_o himself_o of_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n in_o kill_v his_o sin_n and_o of_o his_o resurrection_n in_o raise_v he_o up_o to_o newness_n of_o life_n &_o so_o either_o to_o be_v humble_v if_o he_o feel_v not_o that_o profit_n he_o will_v or_o to_o be_v continue_v from_o the_o begin_n to_o the_o end_n as_o in_o psal_n 92._o 2._o to_o declare_v god_n love_a kindness_n in_o the_o morning_n and_o his_o truth_n at_o night_n so_o that_o the_o sabbath_n must_v be_v spend_v both_o morning_n night_n and_o all_o the_o day_n in_o holy_a duty_n one_o must_v forbear_v worldly_a business_n yea_o worldly_a thought_n the_o whole_a four_o &_o and_z twenty_o hour_n for_o if_o one_o give_v his_o thought_n liberty_n to_o run_v after_o matter_n of_o the_o world_n in_o the_o night_n he_o break_v the_o sabbath_n in_o one_o part_n sleep_v one_o may_v lawful_o speak_v to_o he_o in_o public_a so_o to_o speak_v to_o he_o out_o of_o our_o heart_n in_o private_a &_o not_o to_o give_v ourselves_o leave_v to_o think_v the_o least_o thought_n of_o any_o worldly_a whole_a day_n but_o keep_v some_o part_n of_o it_o from_o god_n to_o ourselves_o &_o accord_o as_o any_o man_n come_v short_a in_o any_o of_o these_o duty_n so_o he_o come_v short_a of_o the_o fruit_n of_o the_o sabbath_n but_o if_o one_o labour_n with_o joy_n to_o do_v all_o the_o duty_n of_o the_o sabbath_n the_o whole_a day_n he_o shall_v find_v in_o his_o own_o soul_n that_o it_o be_v in_o parent_n to_o their_o child_n in_o their_o young_a year_n be_v to_o correct_v they_o to_o give_v they_o correction_n which_o the_o holy_a ghost_n in_o the_o proverb_n command_v often_o and_o show_v
