prayer_n we_o shall_v consider_v of_o our_o petition_n and_o what_o we_o have_v beg_v of_o god_n 2._o humble_o expect_v a_o gracious_a answer_n and_o return_v to_o thy_o prayer_n not_o for_o any_o worthiness_n or_o desert_n in_o thyself_o or_o prayer_n but_o for_o christ_n sake_n alone_o 3._o serve_v providence_n in_o the_o use_n of_o fair_a and_o lawful_a mean_n for_o the_o attain_v those_o good_a thing_n thou_o have_v pray_v for_o 4._o to_o prayer_n add_v watchfulness_n if_o through_o grace_n thy_o heart_n have_v be_v wrought_v to_o a_o good_a temper_n and_o holy_a frame_n in_o prayer_n labour_v to_o keep_v it_o afterward_o labour_v to_o preserve_v those_o apprehension_n and_o those_o affection_n in_o thy_o soul_n which_o thou_o find_v in_o time_n of_o prayer_n and_o therefore_o one_o well_o advise_v that_o for_o some_o little_a time_n after_o we_o have_v pray_v we_o shall_v keep_v ourselves_o silent_a and_o quiet_a nor_o present_o and_o in_o the_o next_o moment_n as_o some_o i.e._n of_o ability_n for_o holy_a duty_n though_o not_o of_o his_o renew_v grace_n and_o yet_o such_o plenty_n of_o blossom_n as_o here_o be_v may_v sometime_o be_v without_o fruit_n 3._o true_a grace_n may_v suffer_v a_o shrewd_a decay_n the_o leaf_n may_v fail_v though_o there_o may_v remain_v some_o life_n in_o the_o root_n we_o read_v in_o scripture_n of_o a_o decay_n both_o of_o faith_n love_n and_o obedience_n some_o leave_v their_o first_o faith_n 1_o tim._n 5.12_o other_o left_a their_o first_o love_n rev._n 2.4_o and_o as_o for_o obedience_n we_o read_v of_o the_o first_o way_n
