be_o much_o in_o service_n yet_o have_v i_o but_o a_o natural_a conscience_n but_o on_o the_o other_o hand_n if_o the_o holiness_n of_o my_o conversation_n carry_v a_o proportion_n to_o my_o profession_n if_o i_o be_o not_o a_o hearer_n of_o the_o word_n only_o but_o a_o doer_n of_o it_o if_o grace_n grow_v in_o season_n of_o duty_n then_o do_v i_o act_v in_o the_o thing_n of_o god_n from_o a_o renew_a
conscience_n 7._o and_o last_o if_o a_o natural_a conscience_n be_v the_o spring_n of_o duty_n why_o then_o this_o spring_n run_v fast_o at_o first_o and_o so_o abate_v and_o at_o last_o dri_v up_o but_o if_o a_o renew_a conscience_n a_o sanctify_a heart_n be_v the_o spring_n of_o duty_n than_o this_o spring_n will_v never_o dry_v up_o it_o will_v run_v always_o from_o first_o to_o last_o and_o that_o be_v christ_n gift_n have_v their_o root_n in_o nature_n but_o grace_n have_v its_o root_n in_o christ_n and_o therefore_o the_o weak_a grace_n shall_v outlive_v the_o great_a gift_n and_o part_n because_o there_o be_v life_n in_o the_o root_n of_o one_o and_o not_o in_o the_o root_n of_o the_o other_o gift_n and_o grace_n differ_v like_o the_o leather_n of_o your_o shoe_n and_o the_o skin_n of_o your_o foot_n take_v a_o pair_n of_o shoe_n that_o have_v the_o thick_a sol_n and_o if_o you_o go_v much_o in_o they_o the_o leather_n wear_v out_o and_o in_o a_o little_a time_n a_o man_n cause_n that_o the_o seed_n be_v say_v to_o wither_v away_o mat._n 13.5_o 6._o be_v be_v because_o it_o have_v no_o deepness_n of_o earth_n where_o there_o be_v a_o through_o conviction_n there_o be_v a_o depth_n of_o earth_n in_o the_o heart_n and_o there_o the_o seed_n of_o the_o word_n grow_v but_o where_o conviction_n be_v slight_a and_o common_a there_o the_o seed_n wither_v for_o want_v of_o depth_n so_o that_o you_o see_v clear_o in_o this_o one_o instance_n whence_o it_o be_v that_o many_o be_v but_o almost_a christian_n when_o they_o have_v go_v so_o far_o in_o religion_n viz._n for_o want_n of_o sound_a conviction_n 21._o mat._n 13.20_o 21._o second_o and_o this_o have_v a_o near_a relation_n to_o the_o former_a it_o be_v for_o want_v of_o a_o through_o work_n of_o grace_n first_o in_o his_o grammar_n before_o he_o be_v out_o of_o his_o primer_z clothe_v that_o be_v not_o wrought_v well_o in_o the_o loom_n will_v neither_o wear_v well_o nor_o wear_v long_o it_o will_v do_v little_a service_n so_o that_o christian_n that_o do_v not_o come_v well_o off_o the_o loom_n that_o have_v not_o a_o through_o work_n of_o grace_n in_o his_o heart_n will_v never_o wear_v well_o he_o will_v shrink_v in_o the_o wet_n and_o never_o do_v much_o service_n for_o god_n it_o be_v not_o the_o prune_n of_o a_o bad_a tree_n will_v make_v it_o bring_v forth_o good_a fruit_n but_o the_o into_o a_o profession_n of_o religion_n but_o be_v not_o right_o bear_v if_o he_o be_v not_o beget_v of_o god_n and_o bear_v of_o the_o spirit_n if_o there_o be_v not_o a_o through_o work_n of_o grace_n in_o his_o heart_n all_o his_o profession_n of_o religion_n will_v never_o mend_v he_o he_o may_v be_v boulsterd_v out_o by_o a_o life_n of_o duty_n but_o he_o will_v be_v but_o a_o hypocrite_n at_o last_o for_o want_v of_o a_o through_o work_n at_o first_o a_o form_n of_o godliness_n may_v cover_v his_o crookedness_n but_o will_v never_o cure_v it_o a_o man_n can_v never_o be_v a_o true_a christian_a nor_o accept_v of_o god_n though_o in_o the_o high_a profession_n of_o religion_n without_o a_o work_n of_o grace_n in_o the_o heart_n for_o 1._o there_o must_v be_v a_o
