that_o offer_v violence_n to_o their_o body_n the_o roman_a pagan_a emperor_n who_o like_a lion_n persecute_v the_o church_n 2_o tim._n 4.17_o they_o by_o persecution_n increase_v it_o though_o his_o own_o spirit_n do_v more_o symbolize_v with_o antichrist_n then_o with_o caesar_n rather_o in_o secret_a supplant_n then_o in_o open_a persecute_v the_o church_n and_o ordinance_n of_o christ_n beply_n 3._o we_o do_v not_o say_v that_o it_o be_v a_o part_n of_o the_o magistrate_n duty_n to_o see_v all_o his_o subject_n to_o become_v christian_n if_o they_o be_v pagan_n before_o though_o we_o say_v it_o be_v his_o duty_n to_o neglect_v no_o good_a mean_n to_o help_v they_o onward_o to_o the_o knowledge_n and_o faith_n of_o christ_n jesus_n but_o why_o do_v the_o discusser_n shake_v this_o duty_n out_o of_o the_o magistrate_n to_o see_v that_o the_o church_n and_o the_o christian_n under_o his_o government_n shall_v walk_v in_o purity_n of_o worship_n at_o least_o not_o so_o far_o to_o degenerate_v and_o apostate_n as_o to_o provoke_v christ_n to_o depart_v from_o they_o can_v he_o hope_v that_o such_o christian_n will_v be_v faithful_a and_o loyal_a to_o their_o prince_n who_o he_o see_v to_o grow_v false_a and_o disloyal_a to_o their_o god_n sure_o the_o land_n of_o ishmael_n though_o it_o have_v some_o peculiar_a and_z and_o typical_a holiness_n belong_v to_o it_o yet_o no_o other_o than_o what_o do_v prefigure_v the_o holiness_n of_o the_o church_n which_o be_v as_o holy_a to_o christ_n and_o aught_o to_o be_v as_o holy_a to_o we_o as_o the_o land_n of_o israel_n be_v to_o they_o if_o therefore_o it_o be_v the_o duty_n of_o jehosaphat_n hezekiah_n and_o isaiah_n to_o reduce_v the_o people_n of_o israel_n from_o their_o backslide_n because_o they_o be_v a_o holy_a
