shut_v they_o out_o of_o door_n but_o he_o speak_v as_o thus_o unto_o they_o well-beloved_a it_o be_v very_o true_a that_o the_o law_n be_v common_a unto_o we_o all_o we_o be_v all_o the_o child_n that_o his_o word_n may_v bear_v such_o rule_n over_o we_o that_o we_o be_v govern_v by_o it_o and_o conform_v our_o whole_a life_n thereto_o until_o that_o be_v despoil_v of_o all_o our_o carnal_a enterprise_v to_o clout_n unto_o the_o word_n of_o god_n his_o patch_n and_o piece_n and_o how_o many_o law_n they_o have_v make_v one_o on_o the_o back_n of_o another_o and_o why_o for_o it_o seem_v unto_o they_o that_o it_o suffice_v not_o to_o walk_v upright_o according_a unto_o the_o word_n of_o god_n but_o that_o it_o be_v further_a good_a and_o convenient_a that_o their_o medley_n shall_v be_v make_v therein_o how_o god_n contrariwise_o say_v that_o if_o we_o have_v his_o law_n we_o shall_v have_v his_o statute_n commandment_n ordinance_n and_o rite_n as_o if_o he_o say_v that_o mortal_a man_n must_v not_o be_v so_o presumptuous_a and_o overween_a as_o to_o desire_v to_o seem_v wise_a than_o he_o for_o when_o they_o shall_v have_v make_v their_o long_a discourse_n they_o we_o with_o some_o desire_n thereto_o albeit_o he_o govern_v we_o with_o his_o holy_a spirit_n the_o thing_n will_v not_o be_v over_o easy_a for_o if_o he_o leave_v we_o to_o remain_v such_o as_o we_o be_v we_o shall_v not_o only_o be_v slow_a herein_o but_o we_o shall_v draw_v clean_o backward_o from_o that_o which_o he_o will_v we_o if_o he_o call_v we_o unto_o himself_o we_o shall_v recoil_v fling_v in_o such_o sort_n when_o we_o be_v put_v forward_o and_o if_o happy_o we_o move_v one_o step_n either_o we_o stumble_v or_o else_o we_o start_v back_o two_o pace_n for_o one_o or_o we_o take_v so_o grevous_a fall_v as_o it_o be_v pity_n to_o behold_v so_o it_o be_v not_o without_o good_a cause_n that_o god_n say_v here_o take_v heed_n you_o do_v that_o i_o command_v you_o as_o if_o shall_v speak_v we_o will_v know_v that_o every_o mouth_n must_v be_v stop_v &_o that_o our_o ear_n must_v be_v open_v to_o hear_v and_o to_o receive_v whatsoever_o he_o shall_v say_v unto_o we_o but_o yet_o it_o suffice_v not_o that_o every_o one_o for_o his_o own_o part_n only_o employ_v himself_o to_o serve_v and_o honour_n god_n but_o we_o must_v procure_v and_o endeavour_n as_o much_o as_o in_o we_o lie_v that_o he_o be_v adore_v and_o worship_v of_o the_o whole_a world_n yea_o we_o must_v labour_v that_o his_o service_n may_v endure_v and_o continue_v after_o our_o death_n that_o the_o name_n of_o god_o live_v not_o and_o die_v with_o we_o when_o we_o shall_v be_v take_v out_o of_o the_o world_n but_o that_o it_o remain_v and_o abide_v unto_o all_o posterity_n and_o lo_o what_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o moses_n say_v their_o child_n and_o those_o which_o shall_v issue_v from_o their_o race_n shall_v continue_v to_o serve_v god_n and_o too_o bserue_v his_o law_n let_v we_o therefore_o diligent_o note_v that_o moses_n in_o this_o place_n not_o only_o exhort_v every_o one_o for_o his_o own_o time_n to_o serve_v and_o obey_v god_o by_o conform_v his_o life_n unto_o the_o law_n which_o he_o have_v deliver_v but_o he_o will_v that_o father_n bestow_v all_o their_o pain_n to_o instruct_v their_o child_n that_o we_o may_v leave_v such_o a_o seed_n after_o we_o if_o it_o be_v possible_a as_o that_o god_n be_v worship_v of_o our_o posterity_n that_o his_o name_n be_v always_o pure_o and_o sincere_o call_v upon_o &_o that_o by_o this_o mean_a they_o which_o shall_v be_v descend_v from_o our_o loin_n may_v be_v bless_v and_o that_o the_o covenant_n of_o god_n wherein_o our_o salvation_n be_v contain_v endure_v for_o ever_o and_o never_o perish_v albeit_o we_o be_v mertall_a and_o of_o small_a continuance_n but_o we_o be_v so_o far_o from_o discharge_v our_o duty_n in_o this_o doctrine_n that_o we_o may_v see_v father_n give_v such_o example_n unto_o their_o child_n that_o it_o seem_v they_o have_v conspire_v to_o abolish_v and_o to_o take_v clean_o away_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n and_o the_o whole_a observation_n of_o his_o law_n we_o ought_v not_o therefore_o to_o marvel_v if_o god_o also_o withdraw_v himself_o from_o we_o and_o that_o it_o seem_v that_o he_o will_v cut_v off_o quite_o all_o the_o benefit_n and_o blessing_n which_o he_o have_v bestow_v on_o we_o for_o be_v we_o worthy_a unto_o who_o he_o shall_v continue_v they_o see_v we_o be_v so_o reckless_a and_o negligent_a to_o procure_v that_o his_o service_n and_o worship_n may_v continue_v in_o his_o entire_a and_o perfect_a estate_n and_o yet_o this_o shall_v serve_v we_o to_o so_o good_a a_o purpose_n as_o i_o have_v say_v that_o it_o be_v not_o speak_v in_o vain_a let_v we_o therefore_o labour_n with_o all_o our_o might_n to_o teach_v those_o which_o shall_v come_v after_o we_o in_o such_o sort_n that_o the_o worship_n of_o god_o and_o his_o service_n may_v continue_v for_o ever_o and_o that_o man_n always_o know_v and_o acknowledge_v he_o for_o the_o father_n and_o saviour_n of_o all_o the_o world_n and_o give_v themselves_o over_o full_o and_o whole_o unto_o he_o withal_o moses_n have_v adjoin_v that_o whereof_o he_o have_v before_o speak_v that_o this_o be_v to_o the_o end_n that_o their_o day_n may_v be_v prolong_v and_o that_o god_o may_v make_v the_o people_n to_o prosper_v according_a to_o the_o promise_n which_o he_o make_v unto_o their_o father_n that_o he_o will_v geve_v they_o a_o land_n flow_v with_o milk_n &_o honey_n we_o have_v already_o expound_v what_o moses_n have_v understand_v by_o this_o word_n namely_o that_o god_n albeit_o by_o one_o word_n he_o may_v constrain_v we_o to_o serve_v he_o notwithstanding_o use_v towards_o we_o a_o most_o mild_a and_o amiable_a manner_n to_o win_v we_o to_o himself_o when_o he_o promise_v we_o a_o reward_n when_o we_o shall_v have_v serve_v he_o not_o that_o our_o work_v deserve_v any_o thing_n or_o that_o he_o be_v any_o thing_n at_o all_o bind_v unto_o we_o but_o when_o he_o gratifi_v we_o so_o and_o be_v in_o such_o wise_a beneficial_a towards_o we_o it_o be_v to_o this_o end_n that_o we_o may_v be_v so_o much_o the_o more_o lively_a touch_v &_o that_o we_o may_v serve_v he_o with_o a_o more_o ardent_a zeal_n &_o desire_n for_o shall_v we_o not_o be_v over_o wicked_a and_o unthankful_a when_o we_o hear_v that_o god_n of_o his_o own_o good_a will_n bind_v himself_o unto_o we_o and_o that_o he_o will_v propose_v unto_o we_o a_o reward_n and_o recompense_v shall_v we_o not_o i_o say_v be_v over_o wicked_a and_o unthankful_a if_o we_o apply_v not_o ourselves_o whole_o unto_o his_o service_n we_o be_v his_o and_o whatsoever_o we_o be_v able_a to_o do_v we_o owe_v unto_o he_o as_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n speak_v plain_o hereof_o who_o be_v you_o say_v he_o i_o demand_n of_o you_o when_o a_o man_n shall_v have_v a_o servant_n yea_o a_o slave_n shall_v have_v pass_v a_o thousand_o contract_n with_o we_o to_o reward_v and_o recompense_v our_o work_v it_o want_v so_o much_o that_o we_o may_v say_v he_o owe_v we_o any_o thing_n that_o he_o may_v rather_o accurse_v and_o detest_v we_o for_o who_o be_v he_o among_o we_o which_o observe_v the_o law_n as_o be_v requisite_a if_o we_o observe_v one_o article_n thereof_o we_o fail_v in_o a_o hundred_o and_o when_o we_o think_v to_o fulfil_v that_o which_o god_n have_v command_v we_o in_o his_o law_n we_o falter_v therein_o we_o trail_v our_o leg_n after_o we_o there_o be_v always_o such_o great_a imperfection_n and_o weakness_n in_o we_o that_o we_o can_v never_o run_v in_o such_o wise_a as_o we_o ought_v and_o
be_v always_o this_o exception_n under_o it_o so_o that_o this_o derogate_v nothing_o from_o the_o right_n which_o appertain_v unto_o god_o of_o which_o it_o have_v be_v already_o handle_v in_o the_o first_o table_n for_o we_o know_v that_o the_o service_n by_o the_o which_o god_n be_v worship_v aught_o to_o go_v before_o all_o other_o thing_n and_o see_v why_o saint_n paul_n 1._o also_o willing_a to_o geve_v we_o the_o exposition_n of_o this_o place_n express_o add_v that_o the_o child_n ought_v to_o obey_v their_o father_n and_o mother_n howbeit_o in_o the_o lord_n and_o we_o have_v say_v that_o the_o foundation_n whereupon_o we_o ought_v to_o build_v be_v when_o we_o will_v be_v obedient_a humble_a and_o subject_a to_o our_o superior_n namely_o to_o know_v that_o almighty_a god_o be_v represent_v in_o their_o person_n now_o take_v away_o the_o foundation_n and_o must_v not_o the_o whole_a building_n totter_v and_o fall_v unto_o the_o ground_n but_o all_o they_o which_o have_v not_o respect_n unto_o god_n take_v away_o the_o foundation_n of_o this_o doctrine_n so_o then_o the_o go_v forward_o be_v perverse_a and_o wicked_a now_o this_o aught_o to_o admonish_v aswell_o they_o which_o be_v in_o authority_n as_o those_o which_o be_v subject_a unto_o they_o if_o then_o man_n and_o woman_n have_v child_n they_o ought_v to_o know_v that_o no_o subjection_n be_v due_a unto_o they_o except_o god_n bear_v rule_v above_o all_o what_o be_v then_o behooveful_a and_o necessary_a to_o be_v do_v it_o behove_v a_o father_n diligent_o to_o instruct_v and_o bring_v up_o his_o child_n in_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n and_o that_o he_o begin_v himself_o to_o show_v they_o the_o way_n hereunto_o the_o mother_n must_v do_v the_o like_a that_o god_n may_v have_v his_o honour_n above_o all_o both_o small_a &_o great_a old_a and_o young_a let_v magistrate_n in_o like_a manner_n seek_v by_o all_o mean_v they_o may_v that_o god_n be_v serve_v and_o honour_v let_v they_o maintain_v asmuch_o as_n lie_v in_o they_o all_o that_o which_o appertain_v unto_o this_o end_n &_o sith_o he_o vouchsafe_v to_o do_v they_o this_o honour_n which_o they_o deserve_v not_o to_o sit_v in_o the_o seat_n which_o be_v dedicate_v to_o his_o majesty_n &_o to_o carry_v the_o sword_n which_o as_o a_o thing_n sacred_a and_o holy_a appertain_v only_o unto_o he_o let_v they_o show_v that_o they_o be_v in_o deed_n his_o officer_n see_v then_o it_o be_v so_o that_o he_o have_v lift_v they_o up_o unto_o such_o a_o dignity_n of_o which_o they_o be_v in_o no_o respect_n worthy_a let_v they_o at_o least_o show_v this_o that_o in_o his_o name_n it_o be_v that_o they_o have_v all_o authority_n &_o that_o they_o refer_v it_o unto_o he_o you_o see_v then_o how_o prince_n ought_v to_o discharge_v themselves_o of_o their_o duty_n every_o one_o ought_v to_o do_v the_o like_a in_o his_o family_n &_o household_n let_v those_o unto_o who_o god_n of_o his_o goodness_n have_v grant_v to_o have_v man_n servant_n &_o maid_n consider_v well_o that_o there_o be_v a_o master_n above_o they_o all_o who_o ought_v so_o to_o be_v obey_v that_o his_o right_n always_o be_v reserve_v unto_o he_o whole_o &_o entire_o loe_o what_o instruction_n all_o superior_n in_o what_o degree_n soever_o they_o be_v aught_o to_o learn_v the_o instruction_n i_o say_v which_o they_o be_v teach_v &_o command_v of_o obedience_n to_o god_n moreover_o when_o father_n &_o mother_n &_o magistrate_n will_v raise_v up_o themselves_o against_o god_n and_o be_v lift_v up_o with_o such_o tyranny_n as_o to_o challenge_v to_o themselves_o that_o which_o pertain_v unto_o god_n alone_o when_o they_o will_v turn_v we_o from_o his_o obedience_n you_o see_v a_o exception_n which_o before_o we_o have_v put_v down_o which_o make_v that_o they_o ought_v not_o to_o be_v obey_v it_o behove_v therefore_o that_o god_n go_v before_o and_o then_o that_o the_o creature_n follow_v after_o in_o their_o subaltern_n as_o we_o may_v say_v that_o be_v their_o several_a &_o successive_a order_n and_o in_o very_a deed_n the_o cause_n why_o for_o the_o most_o part_n that_o meekness_n &_o humility_n be_v so_o little_o regard_v in_o the_o world_n that_o the_o child_n arm_v themselves_o against_o father_n &_o mother_n and_o behave_v themselves_o as_o wild_a beast_n that_o the_o people_n be_v full_a of_o wickedness_n and_o rebellion_n that_o servant_n also_o be_v full_a of_o disloyalty_n and_o disobedience_n that_o there_o be_v no_o deal_n with_o any_o of_o these_o to_o reclaim_v they_o in_o what_o sort_n soever_o be_v the_o just_a punishment_n of_o god_n upon_o they_o which_o abuse_v the_o dignity_n which_o he_o have_v give_v they_o for_o oftentimes_o we_o see_v that_o the_o prince_n bear_v not_o rule_v to_o magnify_v and_o set_v forth_o the_o name_n and_o glory_n of_o god_n to_o cause_v that_o he_o be_v honour_v as_o he_o deserve_v but_o they_o draw_v clean_o backward_o herein_o they_o will_v set_v up_o and_o make_v themselves_o idol_n even_o to_o pluck_v god_n as_o it_o be_v cut_v of_o his_o seat_n to_o place_v themselves_o therein_o one_o shall_v see_v this_o at_o the_o least_o one_o shall_v see_v the_o prince_n reign_n and_o bear_v rule_v licentious_o even_o with_o all_o the_o reins_n of_o the_o bridle_n loose_v and_o god_n therefore_o must_v needs_o revenge_v himself_o of_o they_o as_o for_o father_n and_o mother_n what_o zeal_n have_v they_o to_o instruct_v their_o child_n in_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n all_o be_v one_o with_o they_o so_o they_o may_v advance_v and_o set_v they_o up_o in_o the_o world_n yea_o it_o seem_v they_o be_v dispose_v to_o bring_v they_o up_o in_o all_o impiety_n and_o ungodliness_n in_o all_o contempt_n of_o god_n and_o of_o this_o word_n if_o the_o father_n be_v wolf_n themselves_o they_o will_v have_v their_o child_n wolf_n whelp_n if_o they_o be_v old_a fox_n they_o will_v have_v young_a cub_n to_o their_o child_n if_o they_o be_v serpent_n themselves_o they_o will_v have_v also_o a_o serpent_n brood_n we_o see_v this_o to_o be_v so_o it_o be_v therefore_o good_a reason_n that_o god_n avenge_v himself_o when_o the_o creature_n of_o forget_v themselves_o and_o especial_o when_o man_n know_v not_o and_o acknowledge_v that_o god_n have_v stretch_v forth_o his_o hand_n to_o lift_v they_o up_o &_o to_o communicate_v unto_o they_o part_n of_o his_o honour_n even_o in_o a_o degree_n right_n underneath_o he_o it_o behove_v we_o bear_v this_o always_o in_o mind_n but_o what_o be_v not_o this_o a_o wicked_a &_o villainous_a unthankfulness_n when_o a_o man_n which_o be_v in_o authority_n of_o justice_n know_v not_o to_o say_v who_o be_o i_o loe_o i_o be_o a_o poor_a worm_n of_o the_o earth_n &_o yet_o god_n vouchsafe_v that_o i_o bear_v his_o name_n as_o in_o his_o behalf_n withal_o that_o i_o execute_v the_o authority_n which_o he_o have_v give_v i_o when_o a_o man_n forget_v thus_o to_o reason_n with_o himself_o be_v he_o not_o overmuch_o unthankful_a again_o when_o father_n consider_v not_o to_o say_v lo_o god_n which_o be_v only_a father_n of_o all_o mankind_n yet_o notwithstanding_o he_o yield_v unto_o i_o this_o so_o honourable_a a_o title_n it_o be_v then_o great_a reason_n that_o i_o advise_v myself_o well_o to_o render_v a_o account_n hereof_o when_o master_n &_o mistress_n know_v not_o to_o think_v thus_o we_o be_v no_o better_a than_o other_o yet_o god_n have_v honour_v we_o not_o only_o in_o create_v we_o after_o his_o own_o image_n &_o likeness_n but_o in_o give_v we_o this_o preeminence_n above_o they_o which_o be_v under_o our_o subjection_n when_o i_o say_v man_n will_v not_o know_v &_o think_v thus_o must_v we_o not_o say_v that_o they_o be_v become_v altogether_o brutish_a &_o beastly_a let_v we_o therefore_o diligent_o note_v that_o rebellion_n often_o time_n proceed_v from_o they_o which_o be_v in_o authority_n which_o know_v not_o their_o office_n namely_o that_o they_o
