after_o a_o undue_a manner_n seem_v to_o i_o to_o show_v somewhat_o more_o respect_n to_o god_n and_o his_o command_n than_o he_o who_o whole_o neglect_v it_o and_o beside_o there_o be_v hardly_o any_o wicked_a man_n that_o dare_v come_v to_o the_o sacrament_n without_o some_o good_a thought_n and_o resolution_n or_o who_o be_v not_o for_o a_o little_a time_n before_o and_o after_o the_o receive_n of_o it_o more_o careful_a of_o himself_o and_o his_o action_n and_o though_o this_o do_v not_o last_v long_o but_o he_o soon_o return_v to_o his_o former_a wickedness_n yet_o however_o this_o be_v something_o better_a than_o continue_v in_o sin_n and_o wickedness_n without_o any_o intermission_n or_o cessation_n moreover_o such_o a_o one_o use_v the_o best_a mean_n of_o become_v better_a which_o by_o god_n grace_n at_o some_o time_n may_v prove_v effectual_a whereas_o he_o that_o cast_v off_o all_o these_o duty_n be_v in_o a_o more_o desperate_a and_o irreclaimable_a state_n in_o short_a be_v there_o neither_o sin_n nor_o danger_n in_o omit_v this_o sacrament_n and_o yet_o so_o great_a hazard_n in_o the_o receive_n it_o unworthy_o prudence_n and_o interest_n may_v engage_v we_o to_o choose_v the_o safe_a side_n and_o not_o to_o meddle_v with_o it_o at_o all_o but_o if_o we_o expose_v ourselves_o as_o certain_o to_o god_n anger_n and_o displeasure_n by_o whole_o neglect_v this_o duty_n as_o by_o perform_v it_o undue_o than_o these_o word_n of_o the_o apostle_n can_v be_v no_o pretence_n or_o excuse_n for_o our_o abstain_v from_o this_o communion_n for_o will_v not_o this_o be_v a_o odd_a way_n of_o argue_v because_o intemperate_a eat_n and_o drink_v be_v very_o prejudicial_a to_o our_o health_n and_o often_o breed_v mortal_a disease_n therefore_o partake_v of_o it_o with_o great_a reverence_n and_o devotion_n than_o they_o have_v use_v to_o do_v let_v the_o danger_n of_o receive_v unworthy_o be_v never_o so_o great_a the_o consideration_n of_o this_o institution_n or_o to_o lessen_v that_o awe_n and_o dread_v you_o have_v of_o receive_v it_o unworthy_o only_o i_o will_v not_o have_v man_n afraid_a of_o or_o scruple_n do_v their_o duty_n there_o be_v preparation_n and_o good_a disposition_n of_o mind_n require_v for_o prayer_n and_o the_o right_a performance_n of_o other_o religious_a duty_n as_o well_o as_o this_o of_o the_o sacrament_n we_o ought_v therefore_o to_o be_v afraid_a of_o these_o three_o thing_n 1._o of_o neglect_v to_o receive_v this_o sacrament_n for_o that_o be_v to_o live_v in_o disobedience_n to_o a_o plain_a command_n of_o our_o saviour_n 2._o of_o receive_v it_o unworthy_o without_o reverence_n or_o attention_n to_o the_o meaning_n of_o it_o without_o hearty_a repentance_n and_o sincere_a resolution_n of_o amendment_n for_o that_o be_v to_o affront_v and_o profane_v our_o saviour_n most_o excellent_a institution_n 3._o of_o turn_v to_o your_o evil_a course_n after_o receive_v it_o for_o then_o your_o have_v take_v this_o sacrament_n will_v be_v a_o great_a aggravation_n both_o of_o your_o sin_n and_o condemnation_n a_o sermon_n preach_v before_o the_o late_a king_n at_o new-market_n the_o three_o sermon_n prov_n i._o 10._o if_o sinner_n entice_v thou_o consent_v thou_o not_o in_o scripture_n we_o often_o find_v that_o the_o evil_a spirit_n be_v represent_v as_o tempter_n go_v to_o and_o fro_o in_o the_o earth_n and_o walk_v up_o and_o down_o in_o it_o seek_v who_o they_o may_v devour_v and_o to_o that_o end_n as_o furnish_v with_o all_o manner_n of_o wile_n his_o kingdom_n in_o the_o world_n by_o entice_a man_n to_o and_o plead_v for_o sin_n and_o irreligion_n and_o this_o they_o do_v just_a for_o the_o same_o ill-natured_a reason_n namely_o to_o make_v other_o as_o bad_a as_o themselves_o that_o they_o may_v be_v also_o as_o miserable_a that_o this_o may_v a_o little_a comfort_n they_o against_o the_o gnaw_a fear_n of_o future_a punishment_n that_o if_o they_o shall_v chance_v to_o befall_v they_o as_o be_v threaten_v yet_o they_o have_v make_v sure_a of_o company_n enough_o and_o this_o may_v afford_v we_o one_o consideration_n of_o no_o little_a force_n to_o secure_v we_o against_o the_o solicitation_n of_o sinner_n that_o though_o they_o may_v pretend_v to_o great_a love_n and_o kindness_n and_o tell_v we_o of_o the_o excellency_n
