against_o thy_o neighbour_n albeit_o it_o be_v enormous_a and_o very_o far_o out_o ofsquare_n and_o this_o be_v do_v not_o only_a when_o the_o name_n of_o god_n be_v swear_v by_o but_o when_o we_o swear_v by_o the_o cross_n mass_n sacrament_n saint_n or_o by_o our_o own_o life_n for_o every_o one_o of_o these_o be_v heinous_a sin_n also_o &_o idolatrous_a for_o by_o protest_v by_o they_o we_o place_v they_o in_o god_n stead_n which_o unlawful_a oath_n be_v much_o reprehend_v in_o the_o holy_a scripture_n because_o of_o the_o injury_n which_o be_v offer_v to_o the_o divine_a majesty_n great_o to_o blame_v be_v they_o and_o much_o have_v they_o to_o answer_v for_o who_o swear_v of_o custom_n for_o every_o light_a matter_n have_v no_o respect_n how_o or_o wherefore_o they_o swear_v neither_o do_v repent_v themselves_o of_o this_o custom_n neither_o endeavour_n to_o root_v out_o this_o corrupt_a and_o deprave_a use_n neither_o be_v they_o to_o be_v excuse_v if_o they_o say_v that_o they_o do_v not_o swear_v of_o set_a purpose_n or_o it_o be_v not_o their_o mind_n and_o intent_n to_o sweat_v vain_o for_o the_o case_n be_v put_v that_o they_o be_v willing_a to_o entertain_v this_o naughty_a and_o corrupt_a custom_n they_o be_v also_o willing_a to_o entertain_v that_o which_o follow_v of_o it_o that_o be_v this_o and_o such_o like_a evil_n and_o therefore_o they_o be_v not_o free_a from_o great_a and_o enormous_a wickedness_n wherefore_o a_o christian_a ought_v to_o endeavour_n himself_o as_o much_o as_o lie_v in_o he_o to_o banish_v and_o root_v out_o this_o evil_a custom_n lest_o this_o incircumspection_n prove_v his_o bane_n that_o this_o may_v be_v do_v the_o more_o easy_o we_o must_v diligent_o observe_v and_o mark_v that_o counsel_n of_o christ_n 5_o and_o of_o his_o most_o love_a disciple_n james_n say_v before_o all_o thing_n my_o brethren_n swear_v not_o neither_o by_o heaven_n nor_o by_o earth_n nor_o by_o any_o other_o oath_n but_o let_v your_o yea_o be_v yea_o and_o your_o nay_o nay_o lest_o you_o fall_v into_o condemnation_n he_o mean_v that_o the_o custom_n of_o swear_v shall_v not_o draw_v they_o to_o false_a swear_n and_o therefore_o shall_v be_v judge_v and_o condemn_v to_o everlasting_a death_n neither_o ought_v any_o man_n to_o swear_v by_o the_o life_n of_o his_o son_n another_o or_o of_o any_o other_o in_o his_o family_n and_o he_o must_v also_o diligent_o take_v heed_n that_o as_o no_o man_n swear_v after_o this_o manner_n in_o his_o family_n so_o let_v he_o cast_v out_o of_o his_o house_n all_o such_o oath_n by_o admonish_v &_o chastice_v all_o that_o be_v under_o his_o jurisdiction_n and_o if_o there_o be_v any_o man_n to_o who_o this_o custom_n be_v so_o turn_v into_o a_o nature_n that_o he_o can_v hardly_o expel_v it_o let_v he_o accustom_v himself_o that_o for_o every_o such_o offence_n he_o give_v some_o thing_n to_o the_o poor_a or_o exact_v some_o other_o thing_n of_o himself_o that_o by_o it_o he_o may_v not_o only_o be_v put_v in_o mind_n of_o his_o repentance_n but_o also_o that_o it_o may_v be_v a_o admonition_n unto_o he_o not_o to_o incur_v the_o same_o fault_n again_o ¶_o of_o murmur_a detraction_n and_o rash_a judgement_n another_o sin_n which_o every_o one_o ought_v to_o fly_v and_o avoid_v be_v murmur_v which_o vice_n do_v no_o less_o reign_n in_o the_o world_n at_o this_o day_n then_o that_o before_o for_o there_o be_v neither_o house_n nor_o assembly_n of_o religious_a person_n nor_o holy_a place_n which_o be_v altogether_o free_a from_o murmur_v and_o although_o this_o for_o all_o thing_n taste_v not_o alike_o to_o all_o man_n sweet_a taste_n displease_v this_o man_n and_o sour_a taste_n please_v another_o and_o some_o please_v their_o taste_n in_o sweet_a thing_n so_o the_o will_n of_o some_o man_n be_v so_o corrupt_a and_o replete_a with_o hurtful_a and_o melancholy_a humour_n that_o they_o have_v not_o any_o pleasure_n in_o any_o thing_n that_o be_v join_v with_o virtue_n they_o can_v away_o to_o hear_v their_o neighbour_n praise_v and_o nothing_o do_v please_v they_o but_o evil_o speak_v and_o scorn_v other_o so_o that_o in_o all_o their_o conversation_n they_o seem_v dull_a and_o benumb_v but_o if_o they_o
their_o deep_a poverty_n abound_v into_o the_o riches_n of_o their_o liberality_n this_o be_v one_o of_o the_o chief_a degree_n of_o patience_n charity_n and_o perfection_n to_o which_o a_o humane_a creature_n may_v ascend_v but_o few_o ascend_v so_o high_a and_o therefore_o the_o lord_n have_v command_v it_o unto_o none_o but_o these_o be_v not_o so_o to_o be_v understand_v as_o though_o we_o ought_v to_o rejoice_v at_o the_o death_n calamity_n and_o tribulation_n of_o our_o neighbour_n parent_n and_o kinsfolk_n much_o less_o of_o the_o church_n for_o the_o same_o charity_n which_o
