life_n with_o the_o sense_n or_o thought_n original_o exist_v and_o the_o wonder_n of_o all_o being_n or_o substance_n 4._o thus_o we_o apprehend_v the_o three_o principle_n viz_o the_o source_n or_o quality_n of_o this_o world_n with_o the_o star_n and_o element_n to_o be_v a_o creature_n frame_v out_o of_o the_o wonder_n of_o the_o eternal_a wisdom_n eternal_a or_o wisdom_n substantiality_n the_o three_o principle_n manife_v both_o the_o first_o 5._o note_n 5._o note_n though_o indeed_o each_o of_o they_o be_v manifest_a in_o itself_o yet_o nevertheless_o the_o eternal_a substance_n in_o its_o wonder_n which_o have_v become_v discover_v in_o the_o wisdom_n will_v manifest_v itself_o in_o such_o a_o property_n viz_o according_a to_o the_o ground_n of_o eternity_n according_a to_o the_o fierce_a wrathful_a and_o the_o love-source_n or_o quality_n and_o have_v create_v all_o into_o a_o creature_o and_o figure_a substance_n according_a to_o the_o eternal_a original_a evil_a and_o good_n 6._o as_o it_o be_v before_o our_o eye_n that_o in_o this_o world_n there_o be_v evil_a and_o good_a of_o which_o yet_o the_o devil_n be_v a_o great_a cause_n who_o in_o the_o creation_n in_o their_o fall_n have_v more_o vehement_o move_v the_o fierce_a wrathful_a matrix_fw-la in_o the_o fierce_a wrath_n 7._o in_o which_o god_n according_a to_o the_o property_n of_o the_o fierce_a wrath_n have_v move_v yet_o more_o exceed_o to_o thrust_v they_o forth_o out_o of_o the_o light_n into_o the_o death_n of_o the_o fierce_a wrathfulness_n whence_o also_o the_o heavenly_a substantiality_n become_v together_o devil_n together_o or_o kindle_v by_o the_o pride_n of_o the_o devil_n move_v so_o that_o very_o much_o be_v become_v shut_v up_o together_o in_o the_o earthly_a substantiality_n that_o have_v stand_v free_a in_o the_o liberty_n 8._o as_o we_o apprehend_v by_o the_o gold_n and_o its_o tincture_n which_o be_v free_a from_o the_o earthly_a substance_n for_o it_o subsi_v in_o the_o fire_n and_o in_o all_o source_n quality_n or_o condition_n no_o source_n or_o quality_n can_v overpower_v it_o but_o only_a god_n will_v and_o somewhat_o must_v often_o be_v do_v for_o the_o sake_n of_o the_o world_n unworthiness_n 9_o and_o when_o we_o right_o consider_v the_o create_v of_o this_o world_n and_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o three_o principle_n viz_o take_v before_o we_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o great_a world_n with_o the_o star_n and_o element_n then_o we_o find_v the_o eternal_a world_n property_n and_o as_o it_o be_v mix_v as_o a_o great_a wonder_n whereby_o god_n the_o high_a good_n will_v manifest_v the_o eternal_a wonder_n which_o stand_v in_o secret_a and_o bring_v they_o into_o substance_n 10._o we_o find_v evil_a and_o good_a and_o we_o find_v in_o all_o thing_n the_o centre_n of_o nature_n viz_o the_o anguish_n chamber_n especial_o we_o find_v the_o spirit_n of_o the_o great_a world_n in_o two_o source_n or_o quality_n in_o heat_n and_o cold_a by_o the_o cold_a we_o apprehend_v the_o centre_n of_o the_o harsh_a sharp_a fierce_a wrath_n by_o the_o heat_n the_o principle_n in_o the_o fire_n yet_o they_o have_v but_o one_o original_a out_o of_o another_o 11._o the_o fire_n come_v out_o of_o the_o fierce_a wrath_n of_o the_o cold_a the_o cold_a out_o of_o the_o centre_n of_o nature_n out_o of_o the_o harsh_a astringent_a sharp_a anguish_n where_o the_o harsh_a astringency_n draw_v so_o very_o strong_o in_o itself_o and_o make_v substantiality_n 12._o as_o be_v to_o be_v apprehend_v that_o in_o the_o move_a of_o the_o father_n in_o the_o creation_n it_o have_v make_v earth_n and_o stone_n whereas_o there_o be_v no_o substance_n or_o matter_n for_o it_o but_o only_o its_o own_o substance_n which_o in_o both_o the_o principle_n viz_o in_o the_o light_a world_n and_o in_o the_o death_n world_n in_o both_o the_o desire_n be_v become_v generate_v 13._o that_o which_o in_o the_o move_a attain_v the_o fierce_a wrath_n that_o be_v together_o create_v for_o the_o globe_n of_o the_o earth_n and_o therefore_o man_n find_v therein_o many_o sort_n of_o evil_n and_o of_o good_n 14._o and_o it_o come_v often_o to_o pass_v that_o man_n can_v out_o of_o the_o worst_a of_o all_o make_v that_o which_o be_v best_a while_o the_o centre_n of_o nature_n be_v therein_o if_o a_o man_n bring_v it_o into_o the_o fire_n the_o pure_a child_n of_o the_o eternal_a substantiality_n may_v be_v bring_v out_o of_o it_o when_o it_o become_v free_a from_o death_n as_o be_v to_o be_v see_v in_o gold_n 15._o though_o indeed_o in_o this_o world_n we_o can_v reach_v to_o attain_v the_o eternal_a fire_n and_o therefore_o also_o we_o can_v bring_v forth_o nothing_o out_o of_o this_o principle_n out_o of_o defect_n want_v the_o eternal_a fire_n which_o we_o can_v attain_v but_o only_o in_o the_o imagination_n through_o which_o a_o man_n have_v might_n and_o power_n to_o bring_v the_o life_n out_o of_o death_n and_o to_o bring_v it_o into_o divine_a substantiality_n which_o can_v be_v do_v only_o in_o man_n that_o which_o be_v without_o or_o beyond_o man_n belong_v to_o god_n and_o remain_v to_o the_o renovation_n in_o the_o end_n of_o this_o time_n now_o you_o be_v to_o understand_v the_o substance_n and_o the_o property_n of_o the_o principle_n thus._n 16._o the_o first_o principle_n stand_v in_o the_o fire_n of_o the_o willing_a and_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o both_o the_o other_o also_o of_o the_o life_n and_o understanding_n and_o a_o preservation_n of_o nature_n as_o also_o of_o all_o property_n of_o the_o father_n 17._o the_o second_o principle_n stand_v in_o the_o light_n viz_o in_o the_o fire_n of_o the_o desire_n this_o desire_n make_v substance_n out_o of_o the_o property_n of_o the_o first_o principle_n 18._o and_o every_o life_n how_o will_v then_o one_o principle_n strive_v against_o the_o other_o see_v continual_o the_o one_o vehement_o desire_v the_o other_o 20._o for_o the_o angelical_a light-world_n and_o this_o outward_a visible_a world_n must_v have_v the_o dark_a death_n essence_n to_o its_o life_n or_o source_n and_o quality_n it_o be_v a_o continual_a hunger_n after_o it_o 21._o only_o this_o be_v it_o each_o principle_n make_v the_o source_n according_a to_o its_o own_o property_n it_o give_v to_o the_o evil_n its_o good_a and_o unit_v itself_o therewith_o and_o make_v of_o three_o one_o so_o that_o there_o be_v no_o strife_n or_o repugnancy_n between_o the_o principle_n but_o in_o the_o essence_n be_v the_o strife_n that_o must_v be_v else_o all_o will_v be_v a_o nothing_o 22._o only_o we_o be_v to_o consider_v whence_o enmity_n arise_v god_n have_v create_v in_o each_o principle_n creature_n out_o of_o the_o substance_n and_o property_n of_o the_o principle_n therein_o to_o continue_v if_o they_o continue_v not_o therein_o but_o lead_v or_o introduce_v another_o through_o their_o imagination_n into_o themselves_o into_o their_o property_n then_o that_o be_v a_o enmity_n and_o pain_n 23._o as_o the_o devil_n and_o fall_v man_n who_o be_v both_o of_o they_o go_v out_o of_o the_o light-world_n the_o devil_n into_o the_o abyss_n of_o the_o strong_a fierce_a wrathful_a may_v or_o power_n of_o or_o out_o of_o pride_n and_o man_n into_o this_o world_n into_o the_o mystery_n of_o much_o skill_n and_o knowledge_n viz_o into_o the_o wonder_n 24._o now_o man_n have_v necessity_n and_o strife_n that_o he_o may_v go_v out_o again_o and_o this_o world_n into_o which_o he_o be_v go_v hold_v he_o for_o it_o will_v have_v he_o and_o if_o he_o go_v out_o with_o might_n at_o any_o time_n it_o become_v enrage_v with_o he_o assault_v he_o and_o will_v not_o suffer_v he_o in_o itself_o 25._o hence_o it_o come_v that_o the_o child_n of_o this_o world_n hate_n and_o be_v at_o enmity_n do_v plague_n vex_v worry_v beat_v kill_v and_o drive_v the_o child_n of_o light_n from_o they_o for_o the_o spirit_n of_o this_o world_n drive_v they_o to_o it_o to_o which_o also_o the_o devil_n help_v for_o he_o know_v that_o this_o world_n stand_v upon_o the_o abyss_n and_o that_o he_o shall_v get_v the_o child_n of_o this_o world_n in_o the_o break_n of_o this_o mystery_n into_o his_o kingdom_n and_o therefore_o he_o banish_v or_o drive_v the_o child_n of_o god_n from_o the_o child_n of_o this_o world_n that_o they_o bring_v not_o the_o child_n of_o this_o world_n also_o along_o with_o they_o into_o the_o light-world_n 26._o but_o if_o man_n have_v be_v create_v to_o this_o world_n he_o will_v let_v he_o well_o be_v at_o peace_n but_o he_o will_v fain_o continual_o possess_v his_o royal_a seat_n which_o he_o have_v and_o be_v thrust_v out_o from_o it_o and_o though_o he_o may_v by_o no_o mean_n attain_v it_o yet_o he_o can_v afford_v that_o to_o the_o child_n that_o shall_v possess_v it_o 27._o this_o be_v therefore_o now_o high_o to_o be_v consider_v by_o man_n and_o not_o to_o be_v so_o blind_a that_o though_o indeed_o man_n be_v enter_v into_o the_o mystery_n of_o this_o world_n he_o shall_v not_o so_o eager_o as_o a_o prisoner_n even_o enter_v into_o the_o earthly_a seek_v or_o malady_n of_o the_o shut_v up_o of_o death_n but_o shall_v be_v a_o apprehender_n and_o skilful_a knower_n of_o the_o mystery_n and_o not_o the_o devil_n owl_n and_o fool_n and_o shall_v with_o the_o imagination_n constant_o go_v forth_o again_o into_o the_o light-world_n to_o which_o he_o be_v create_v that_o the_o light_n may_v give_v he_o its_o glance_n or_o lustre_n that_o he_o may_v know_v himself_o and_o see_v the_o outward_a mystery_n and_o then_o he_o be_v a_o man._n 28._o but_o if_o not_o then_o he_o be_v a_o fool_n and_o a_o ape_n or_o mimic_n of_o the_o light-world_n as_o a_o ape_n will_v be_v witâ—y_a or_o full_a of_o trick_n and_o play_v with_o every_o thing_n and_o imitate_v every_o thing_n thus_o it_o be_v also_o with_o the_o earthly_a man_n which_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o a_o ape_n 29._o his_o juggle_a trick_n with_o the_o light-world_n when_o he_o press_v not_o thereinto_o with_o earnestness_n but_o play_v only_o therewith_o that_o the_o devil_n deride_v and_o hold_v he_o for_o a_o fool_n and_o so_o he_o be_v he_o be_v a_o beast-man_n so_o long_o as_o with_o his_o willing_a he_o hang_v to_o the_o outward_a and_o account_v this_o world_n good_a for_o his_o treasure_n he_o be_v but_o a_o man_n with_o this_o world_n substance_n and_o not_o with_o the_o substance_n of_o the_o divine_a light_a world_n and_o he_o give_v his_o body_n to_o this_o world_n that_o be_v to_o the_o earth_n and_o his_o soul_n to_o the_o abyss_n of_o the_o dark-world_n 30._o thus_o understand_v the_o tree_n of_o the_o three_o principle_n agree_v very_o well_o one_o in_o another_o but_o the_o creature_n not_o for_o the_o creature_n of_o each_o principle_n desire_v not_o those_o of_o the_o other_o and_o therefore_o also_o there_o be_v a_o fast_a sluice_n or_o gulf._n or_o lock_v bar_n cliffe_n or_o gulf._n enclosure_n between_o they_o so_o that_o one_o can_v nor_o shall_v not_o see_v the_o other_o 31._o only_o the_o devil_n envy_n strive_v against_o mankind_n for_o they_o have_v possess_v his_o seat_n therefore_o all_o the_o stress_n lie_v in_o this_o o_o man_n seek_v thyself_o see_v what_o thou_o be_v have_v a_o care_n and_o beware_v of_o the_o devil_n thus_o much_o concern_v the_o second_o point_n how_o the_o three_o principle_n can_v agree_v and_o unite_v one_o with_o the_o other_o the_o three_o point_n the_o four_o chapter_n of_o the_o original_a of_o contrariety_n in_o the_o sprout_n or_o vegetation_n in_o that_o the_o life_n be_v strive_v in_o itself_o 1._o a_o thing_n that_o be_v one_o that_o have_v only_o one_o willing_a it_o strive_v not_o against_o itself_o but_o where_o there_o be_v many_o willing_n in_o one_o thing_n there_o they_o be_v strive_v for_o every_o one_o will_v go_v its_o conceive_a and_o apprehend_v way_n 2._o but_o if_o one_o be_v lord_n of_o the_o other_o so_o that_o it_o have_v full_a power_n over_o the_o other_o so_o that_o it_o can_v break_v it_o or_o subdue_v it_o when_o it_o will_v not_o be_v obedient_a there_o the_o multiplicity_n of_o a_o thing_n subsi_v in_o one_o substance_n for_o the_o multiplicity_n of_o the_o willing_a give_v itself_o altogether_o in_o obedience_n to_o its_o lord_n 3._o thus_o also_o it_o be_v in_o the_o contrariety_n of_o the_o life_n for_o the_o life_n stand_v in_o many_o willing_n every_o essence_n may_v produce_v a_o willing_a and_o do_v produce_v it_o also_o for_o harsh_a astringency_n bitter_a anguish_n and_o soureness_n be_v each_o of_o they_o contrary_a source_n each_o of_o which_o have_v its_o property_n and_o altogether_o contrary_a against_o one_o another_o 4._o also_o the_o fire_n be_v a_o enemy_n to_o all_o the_o other_o for_o it_o set_v every_o source_n in_o great_a anguish_n so_o that_o there_o be_v great_a contrariety_n between_o they_o the_o one_o always_o be_v at_o enmity_n with_o the_o other_o as_o be_v to_o be_v see_v in_o heat_n and_o cold_a also_o in_o water_n and_o fire_n in_o life_n and_o death_n 5._o in_o like_a manner_n the_o life_n of_o man_n be_v at_o enmity_n with_o itself_o one_o form_n of_o disposition_n be_v at_o enmity_n with_o the_o other_o in_o all_o creature_n unless_o that_o the_o form_n or_o condition_n of_o the_o life_n get_v a_o meek_a amiable_a lord_n under_o who_o subjection_n it_o must_v be_v which_o can_v break_v its_o authority_n and_o willing_a 6._o that_o be_v the_o light_n of_o life_n that_o be_v the_o lord_n of_o all_o form_n or_o constitution_n it_o can_v subdue_v they_o all_o they_o must_v all_o give_v up_o their_o willing_a to_o the_o light_n and_o they_o do_v it_o also_o ready_o for_o the_o light_n give_v they_o meekness_n and_o power_n so_o that_o its_o stern_a harsh_a bitter_a anxious_a form_n become_v altogether_o charge_v into_o amiableness_n they_o give_v up_o their_o willing_n altogether_o to_o the_o light_n of_o life_n and_o the_o light_n give_v they_o meekness_n 7._o thus_o the_o multiplicity_n become_v change_v into_o one_o into_o one_o willing_a and_o that_o be_v call_v the_o mind_n and_o be_v the_o wellspring_n where_o the_o one_o only_a will_n can_v create_v out_o of_o it_o evil_a and_o good_a which_o be_v do_v through_o imagination_n or_o through_o representation_n of_o a_o thing_n that_o be_v evil_n or_o good_a and_o so_o
only_a pilgrim_n and_o stranger_n who_o will_v fain_o leave_v all_o this_o world_n that_o they_o may_v but_o inherit_v the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n 49._o all_o this_o god_n set_v before_o the_o evil_a doer_n in_o the_o lise_n light_n and_o warn_v he_o thereby_o to_o conversion_n again_o but_o will_v he_o not_o than_o the_o anger_n of_o god_n make_v hellish_a fire_n out_o of_o it_o and_o in_o the_o end_n gnew_v he_o to_o see_v if_o yet_o he_o will_n know_v himself_o and_o so_o repent_v and_o a_o mend_v 50._o but_o if_o he_o stay_v and_o harden_v himself_o in_o the_o evil_n and_o free_a from_o that_o thing_n which_o be_v without_o or_o beyond_o it_o 2._o thus_o the_o divine_a power_n and_o light_n dwell_v in_o itself_o be_v comprise_v or_o comprehend_v in_o nothing_o nothing_o in_o the_o three_o principle_n in_o that_o it_o change_v all_o and_o every_o enimicitious_a essence_n and_o source_n or_o quality_n into_o meekness_n that_o do_v god_n light_n in_o the_o form_n of_o the_o eternal_a nature_n 5._o it_o shine_v the_o form_n and_o out_o of_o the_o form_n that_o be_v it_o kinld_v the_o form_n or_o nature_n so_o that_o they_o all_o get_v the_o light_n willing_a and_o unite_v themselves_o and_o whole_o give_v up_o themselves_o to_o the_o light_n they_o sink_v down_o out_o of_o their_o own_o essence_n and_o become_v as_o the_o if_o they_o have_v no_o might_n or_o power_n in_o themselves_o and_o desire_v only_o the_o light_n power_n and_o may_v thus_o the_o light_n take_v their_o power_n and_o might_n into_o itself_o and_o shine_v out_o of_o that_o same_o power_n and_o thus_o all_o source_n of_o nature_n come_v to_o the_o light_n and_o the_o light_n be_v one_o will_v with_o nature_n and_o the_o light_n remain_v lord_n 6._o else_o if_o the_o will_n in_o the_o see_v form_n of_o nature_n will_v be_v lord_n than_o there_o will_v be_v a_o schism_n or_o rent_n and_o a_o eternal_a enmity_n for_o one_o form_n continual_o be_v at_o enmity_n with_o the_o other_o every_o one_o lift_v up_o itself_o from_o whence_o come_v the_o contrariety_n or_o opposition_n that_o a_o creature_n be_v so_o evil_a angry_a and_o enimcitious_a that_o often_o the_o life_n be_v strive_v in_o itself_o 7._o as_o we_o now_o apprehend_v and_o know_v that_o the_o light_n in_o the_o stern_a life_n of_o nature_n come_v to_o help_v the_o property_n of_o the_o essence_n so_o that_o a_o frolic_n cheerful_a life_n exi_v and_o so_o change_v itself_o into_o the_o light_n so_o be_v the_o life_n of_o the_o dark_a fierce_a wrathfulness_n enemy_n to_o the_o light_n for_o it_o can_v conceive_v or_o apprehend_v the_o light_n 8._o 1.5_o 8._o john_n 1.5_o the_o eternal_a light_n shine_v through_o the_o darkness_n and_o that_o can_v comprehend_v it_o for_o the_o multitude_n of_o will_v 's_o the_o dark_a nature_n be_v all_o shut_v or_o lock_v up_o in_o death_n the_o light_n shine_v not_o in_o it_o but_o through_o it_o it_o see_v conceive_v or_o receive_v not_o the_o light_n 9_o nevertheless_o the_o light_n be_v in_o the_o dark_a world_n but_o it_o fill_v not_o the_o darkness_n and_o therefore_o the_o essence_n of_o the_o dark_a world_n continue_v to_o be_v a_o
