and_o practice_n of_o repentance_n apollo_n this_o renew_a repentance_n of_o the_o godly_a repentance_n take_v the_o beginning_n from_o a_o godly_a sorrow_n engender_v in_o the_o heart_n by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n upon_o the_o discovery_n of_o our_o daily_a infirmity_n and_o fall_n as_o the_o apostle_n teach_v we_o 2_o corinthian_n 7._o 10._o godly_a sorrow_n bring_v forth_o repentance_n untimely_a death_n as_o be_v to_o be_v see_v in_o achitophel_n and_o judas_n therefore_o they_o be_v to_o be_v warn_v to_o abandon_v and_o put_v far_o from_o their_o heart_n this_o worldly_a sorrow_n which_o not_o only_o can_v profit_v nothing_o but_o thereby_o no_o man_n can_v either_o redeem_v his_o loss_n or_o shame_n or_o remove_v his_o fear_a punishment_n but_o bring_v forth_o a_o dangerous_a and_o deadly_a fruit_n and_o to_o labour_v to_o convert_v it_o into_o a_o godly_a sorrow_n to_o grieve_v according_a to_o god_n for_o this_o have_v great_a commodity_n in_o it_o for_o as_o it_o please_v god_n be_v engender_v by_o himself_o in_o the_o heart_n which_o mourn_v even_o here_o hence_o because_o the_o most_o merciful_a god_n be_v offend_v by_o transgression_n of_o his_o law_n therefore_o worthy_o call_v godly_a sorrow_n so_o it_o have_v a_o notable_a bless_a issue_n for_o it_o lead_v to_o repentance_n and_o that_o to_o life_n or_o salvation_n for_o as_o it_o can_v be_v but_o such_o as_o have_v their_o heart_n smite_v with_o heaviness_n because_o of_o the_o displeasure_n of_o their_o love_a god_n by_o their_o sin_n but_o they_o will_v meditate_v a_o turn_n from_o it_o and_o a_o amendment_n so_o they_o who_o enter_v into_o this_o course_n of_o repentance_n and_o so_o continue_v it_o will_v at_o last_o lead_v they_o to_o salvation_n and_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n it_o be_v a_o good_a testimony_n unto_o they_o that_o they_o be_v save_v person_n if_o it_o be_v no_o more_o but_o that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n say_v of_o heart_n contrite_a &_o sorrowful_a for_o their_o sin_n that_o they_o be_v a_o sacrifice_n to_o god_n and_o that_o the_o sob_n and_o sigh_n of_o a_o trouble_a spirit_n grieve_v for_o iniquity_n do_v proceed_v from_o the_o holy_a spirit_n psal._n 51._o rom._n 8._o sure_o this_o be_v sufficient_a to_o move_v every_o christian_n to_o pray_v and_o labour_n for_o this_o godly_a grief_n that_o he_o may_v get_v his_o heart_n touch_v with_o it_o the_o melt_a heart_n the_o sostened_a heart_n soon_o move_v to_o grief_n upon_o sense_n of_o a_o sin_n be_v a_o bless_a heart_n the_o very_a habitation_n and_o lodging_n of_o god_n
