the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n publicklie_o and_o private_o by_o voice_n and_o by_o pen_n by_o word_n and_o by_o writ_n at_o home_o and_o abroad_o alive_a and_o dead_a and_o his_o conversation_n be_v so_o answerable_a to_o his_o profession_n and_o calling_n that_o the_o very_a malicious_a adversary_n and_o enemy_n themselves_o can_v not_o nor_o dare_v not_o charge_v he_o with_o any_o imputation_n but_o we_o need_v not_o sir_n to_o praise_v he_o unto_o you_o who_o know_v he_o so_o well_o and_o who_o be_v so_o familiar_o conversant_a with_o he_o and_o his_o word_n do_v speak_v sufficient_o to_o other_o who_o know_v he_o not_o now_o sir_n thâ—se_a his_o lecture_n we_o grant_v be_v not_o so_o absolute_a as_o many_o will_v require_v and_o we_o ourselves_o will_v wish_v for_o neither_o deliver_v language_n and_o plausible_a word_n shall_v find_v no_o small_a comfort_n in_o peruse_v of_o they_o for_o not_o only_o for_o the_o duty_n we_o ought_v to_o the_o author_n our_o love_a master_n but_o also_o for_o your_o cause_n and_o earnest_a request_n to_o who_o we_o be_v so_o much_o oblige_v have_v we_o take_v some_o yea_o no_o small_a pain_n herein_o as_o they_o who_o be_v accustom_v with_o such_o case_n may_v easy_o consider_v that_o his_o own_o matter_n may_v be_v set_v down_o in_o his_o own_o phrase_n and_o style_v so_o near_o as_o possible_o we_o can_v that_o with_o the_o great_a like_n and_o approbation_n they_o may_v be_v peruse_v by_o such_o as_o seek_v â—o_o be_v edify_v and_o so_o much_o the_o more_o careful_a be_v we_o herein_o because_o we_o find_v that_o his_o other_o lecture_n publish_v by_o we_o before_o as_o on_o the_o colossian_n thesselonian_n and_o other_o several_a text_n of_o scripture_n and_o narâ—lie_v the_o lecture_n last_o publish_v upon_o the_o passion_n and_o resurrection_n ever_o receive_v with_o great_a like_n and_o contentment_n of_o many_o who_o acknowledge_v themeselue_n to_o be_v great_o edify_v thereby_o now_o sir_n these_o last_o lectures_n and_o our_o labour_n therein_o we_o present_v unto_o you_o to_o be_v publish_v abroad_o under_o your_o protection_n because_o most_o just_o in_o all_o respect_n they_o belong_v unto_o you_o for_o first_o few_o be_v ignorant_a how_o love_a and_o always_o beneficial_a you_o be_v to_o the_o author_n himself_o from_o the_o first_o time_n you_o know_v he_o even_o to_o the_o hour_n of_o his_o that_o we_o have_v speak_v in_o this_o matter_n this_o be_v it_o even_o that_o we_o believe_v in_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n the_o way_n to_o the_o father_n be_v christ_n when_o we_o believe_v in_o he_o we_o be_v walk_v in_o this_o way_n when_o our_o faith_n increase_v piece_n and_o piece_n we_o go_v on_o forward_o we_o continue_v and_o persevere_v in_o that_o way_n now_o in_o the_o end_n of_o the_o verse_n he_o prevent_v and_o answer_v the_o thing_n that_o some_o may_v have_v object_v against_o this_o doctrine_n that_o he_o be_v the_o way_n for_o it_o may_v have_v be_v say_v to_o christ_n albeit_o thou_o be_v the_o way_n to_o the_o father_n yet_o thou_o be_v not_o the_o only_a way_n there_o be_v many_o other_o way_n beside_o thou_o to_o this_o the_o lord_n answer_v i_o be_o the_o only_a way_n to_o come_v to_o the_o father_n for_o say_v he_o none_o come_v to_o the_o father_n but_o by_o i_o that_o be_v i_o be_o so_o the_o way_n to_o the_o father_n that_o there_o be_v narrow_a way_n by_o jesus_n christ_n indeed_o the_o way_n to_o hell_n be_v a_o very_a broad_a way_n that_o be_v there_o be_v many_o way_n that_o lead_v to_o damnation_n for_o there_o be_v not_o a_o sin_n that_o thou_o commit_v against_o god_n but_o it_o lead_v thou_o to_o hell_n whoredom_n lead_v a_o man_n to_o hell_n murder_n lead_v a_o man_n to_o hell_n drunkenness_n lead_v a_o man_n to_o who_o be_v speak_v the_o word_n that_o same_o word_n will_v have_v power_n to_o life_n and_o this_o be_v the_o mean_a the_o lord_n use_v while_o his_o come_n again_o and_o albeit_o the_o word_n of_o the_o cross_n of_o jesus_n to_o speak_v of_o a_o hang_a man_n die_v a_o death_n which_o be_v curse_v by_o god_n himself_o of_o jesus_n nail_v on_o the_o cross_n be_v the_o base_a thing_n and_o the_o most_o foolish_a thing_n in_o the_o world_n yet_o paul_n say_v the_o word_n of_o the_o same_o cross_n of_o jesus_n be_v the_o power_n of_o god_n to_o life_n to_o they_o who_o believe_v it_o be_v the_o power_n of_o god_n and_o the_o wisdom_n of_o god_n the_o great_a wisdom_n and_o power_n that_o any_o faithful_a soul_n can_v feel_v be_v the_o cross_n which_o be_v foolishness_n to_o the_o world_n and_o they_o think_v all_o the_o wisdom_n of_o man_n to_o be_v but_o foolishness_n in_o respect_n of_o the_o mean_a portion_n of_o that_o wisdom_n what_o mean_v this_o wisdom_n preach_v by_o weak_a man_n of_o the_o cross_n of_o a_o crucify_a man_n which_o convoy_v life_n into_o the_o soul_n it_o mean_v this_o that_o the_o crucify_a man_n be_v the_o god_n of_o glory_n therefore_o hold_v fast_o this_o ground_n and_o then_o thou_o shall_v find_v power_n come_v from_o he_o to_o quicken_v thy_o dead_a soul_n and_o through_o his_o death_n thou_o shall_v get_v life_n if_o he_o have_v not_o die_v thou_o have_v never_o see_v life_n so_o all_o our_o life_n and_o all_o our_o joy_n be_v in_o his_o death_n and_o therefore_o let_v this_o be_v all_o our_o glory_n and_o our_o joy_n to_o rest_v upon_o they_o grow_v in_o age_n and_o draw_v near_a death_n they_o shall_v be_v the_o more_o instant_a to_o seek_v life_n and_o when_o they_o grow_v to_o grey_a hair_n it_o be_v a_o great_a shame_n to_o see_v a_o old_a body_n profane_a they_o shall_v prepare_v themselves_o for_o the_o hour_n of_o death_n for_o death_n be_v a_o dangerous_a thing_n death_n be_v not_o to_o be_v jest_v with_o all_o man_n will_v say_v i_o will_v die_v but_o if_o thou_o die_v once_o woe_n be_v to_o thou_o if_o thou_o get_v not_o life_n for_o why_o death_n be_v a_o port_n whereby_o we_o either_o pass_v to_o that_o everlasting_a death_n or_o then_o to_o everlasting_a life_n look_v for_o no_o purgatory_n when_o as_o the_o soul_n be_v loose_v from_o the_o body_n it_o see_v a_o horrible_a darkness_n if_o in_o this_o present_a life_n it_o have_v not_o a_o foretasting_a of_o a_o better_a life_n therefore_o during_o the_o time_n of_o grace_n when_o â—â—_o we_o have_v space_n in_o our_o life_n let_v we_o the_o crown_n of_o glory_n in_o jesus_n christ_n whether_o thou_o be_v man_n or_o woman_n happy_a be_v thou_o who_o look_v for_o that_o life_n and_o say_v before_o the_o death_n draw_v near_o i_o must_v flit_v so_o during_o this_o life_n here_o we_o shall_v aye_o groan_v to_o feel_v that_o life_n and_o fasten_v heart_n and_o hand_n to_o find_v that_o life_n but_o then_o chief_o when_o we_o be_v draw_v near_o the_o door_n of_o death_n and_o daily_a we_o get_v many_o warning_n to_o flit_v and_o remove_v out_o of_o this_o life_n and_o the_o lord_n say_v by_o these_o sickness_n and_o calamity_n flit_v flit_v but_o then_o greedy_o we_o shall_v gripe_v to_o jesus_n christ_n and_o fasten_v to_o he_o who_o be_v life_n and_o if_o we_o get_v a_o gripe_n of_o he_o that_o death_n which_o be_v terrible_a otherways_o it_o will_v be_v turn_v to_o a_o sweet_a sleep_n paul_n say_v those_o who_o sleep_n in_o he_o he_o shall_v raise_v they_o up_o there_o death_n be_v but_o a_o sweet_a sleep_n woe_n to_o they_o that_o have_v no_o gripe_n of_o christ_n for_o at_o the_o last_o hour_n death_n shall_v be_v terrible_a unto_o they_o even_o as_o i_o begin_v so_o i_o end_v think_v not_o clothe_v with_o the_o glory_n of_o jesus_n christ_n paul_n in_o the_o second_o epist_n to_o the_o corinthian_n and_o the_o five_o chapter_n be_v sure_o of_o this_o after_o the_o dissolution_n of_o his_o body_n from_o the_o soul_n when_o as_o he_o say_v i_o know_v perfect_o if_o once_o the_o earthly_a house_n of_o this_o tabernacle_n be_v dissolve_v i_o shall_v get_v a_o lodging_n not_o make_v with_o the_o hand_n of_o man_n but_o eternal_a in_o the_o heaven_n before_o you_o flit_v out_o of_o a_o house_n here_o you_o will_v be_v sure_a of_o another_o to_o dwell_v in_o o_o fool_n be_v thou_o thou_o bestow_v it_o and_o see_v that_o thou_o die_v in_o a_o good_a cause_n and_o look_v that_o thou_o have_v a_o gripe_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o if_o thou_o will_v die_v give_v this_o life_n to_o he_o who_o be_v able_a to_o give_v thou_o a_o better_a life_n and_o see_v the_o time_n of_o trial_n draw_v near_o for_o aught_o we_o see_v and_o the_o time_n will_v declare_v who_o will_v die_v with_o jesus_n christ_n and_o offer_v their_o life_n up_o to_o he_o the_o lord_n give_v every_o one_o of_o we_o grace_n to_o die_v for_o jesus_n christ_n and_o say_v in_o thyself_o lord_n if_o it_o redound_v back_o again_o to_o the_o father_n and_o that_o glorious_a trinity_n delit_v in_o glorify_v one_o another_o for_o the_o glory_n come_v from_o the_o father_n upon_o the_o son_n and_o from_o the_o son_n to_o the_o holy_a spirit_n and_o back_o again_o from_o the_o holy_a ghost_n to_o the_o son_n &_o from_o the_o son_n to_o the_o father_n even_o as_o the_o sun_n make_v reflect_v from_o a_o mirror_n towards_o himself_o again_o no_o word_n be_v able_a to_o express_v this_o for_o it_o be_v a_o thing_n incomprehensible_a to_o see_v that_o glory_n betwixt_o the_o father_n the_o son_n and_o the_o holy_a ghost_n the_o consideration_n of_o this_o will_v confound_v all_o the_o creature_n both_o man_n and_o angel_n how_o the_o father_n put_v on_o the_o beam_n of_o his_o glory_n upon_o the_o son_n and_o from_o the_o son_n to_o the_o holy_a spirit_n and_o then_o it_o come_v about_o from_o the_o holy_a spirit_n and_z striketh_z on_o the_o son_n &_o on_o the_o father_n of_o this_o we_o be_v not_o capable_a nor_o no_o angel_n can_v sufficient_o
consider_v the_o deepness_n of_o this_o glory_n yet_o we_o may_v know_v that_o all_o glory_n come_v of_o the_o father_n and_o pass_v on_o the_o son_n and_o on_o the_o holy_a spirit_n and_o as_o it_o be_v in_o a_o circle_n the_o beam_n of_o that_o glory_n come_v back_o again_o glance_v on_o the_o father_n and_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o father_n be_v not_o diminish_v but_o ever_o he_o remain_v infinite_o glorious_a and_o the_o son_n and_o the_o holy_a spirit_n be_v nothing_o inferior_a in_o power_n majesty_n or_o glory_n unto_o the_o father_n for_o they_o differ_v nothing_o except_o in_o order_n the_o father_n be_v first_o and_o the_o son_n be_v the_o second_o person_n of_o the_o glorious_a trinity_n beget_v of_o the_o father_n and_o the_o bless_a holy_a spirit_n the_o third_o to_o he_o redound_v all_o glory_n in_o end_n all_o come_v home_n again_o till_o he_o as_o in_o a_o circle_n and_o mark_v this_o he_o say_v not_o this_o that_o thou_o may_v be_v glorify_v in_o the_o son_n but_o that_o the_o son_n may_v glorify_v the_o father_n if_o any_o man_n have_v get_v a_o spark_n of_o that_o glory_n let_v he_o not_o think_v that_o that_o glory_n shall_v only_o come_v back_o again_o to_o god_n but_o let_v he_o be_v the_o convoyer_n of_o it_o and_o let_v he_o say_v yea_o if_o he_o be_v a_o king_n who_o have_v get_v a_o crown_n lord_n i_o will_v take_v this_o crown_n and_o
