man_n but_o only_o of_o a_o middling_a sinner_n who_o sin_n against_o his_o conscience_n and_o transgress_v with_o reluctance_n which_o transgressor_n of_o a_o middle_a rank_n he_o particular_o represent_v under_o the_o person_n of_o a_o awake_v but_o as_o yet_o unregenerate_a jew_n who_o be_v one_o on_o who_o the_o law_n of_o moses_n have_v wrought_v some_o change_n but_o can_v not_o work_v viz._n that_o of_o time_n and_o season_n of_o the_o unconstancy_n of_o many_o man_n obedience_n perseverance_n necessary_a unto_o bliss_n the_o desperate_a case_n of_o apostate_n both_o as_o to_o fright_v by_o persecution_n and_o from_o that_o time_n their_o care_n slacken_v and_o their_o lust_n increase_v and_o grow_v too_o hard_o for_o grace_n and_o the_o gospel_n and_o thus_o what_o from_o inducement_n from_o within_o and_o what_o from_o occasion_n from_o without_o they_o be_v quite_o cut_v off_o from_o the_o service_n of_o god_n and_o religion_n and_o give_v themselves_o up_o to_o serve_v their_o lust_n for_o altogether_o and_o to_o a_o uninterrupted_a obedience_n of_o sin_n but_o now_o as_o for_o such_o a_o break_a service_n and_o obedience_n as_o this_o god_n will_v by_o no_o mean_n accept_v of_o it_o nor_o shall_v any_o man_n be_v ever_o the_o better_a by_o it_o for_o when_o christ_n come_v to_o judgement_n he_o will_v pass_v sentence_n upon_o man_n according_a to_o what_o they_o be_v then_o and_o not_o according_a to_o what_o they_o have_v be_v former_o if_o the_o righteous_a man_n turn_v away_o from_o his_o righteousness_n say_v ezekiel_n and_o commit_v obedience_n both_o towards_o god_n and_o man_n be_v a_o universal_a love_n it_o do_v the_o work_n without_o difficulty_n and_o carry_v we_o on_o to_o obey_v with_o ease_n in_o as_o much_o as_o all_o the_o particular_a precept_n and_o instance_n of_o obedience_n be_v but_o so_o many_o genuine_a effect_n and_o proper_a expression_n of_o it_o the_o effect_n of_o our_o love_n be_v the_o part_n of_o our_o obedience_n the_o product_n of_o our_o duty_n and_o religion_n as_o well_o as_o of_o our_o passion_n so_o that_o it_o be_v a_o most_o natural_a spring_n of_o our_o obedient_a service_n because_o it_o prompt_v we_o to_o the_o very_a same_o thing_n to_o which_o god_n have_v bind_v and_o oblige_v we_o by_o his_o precept_n but_o beside_o this_o way_n of_o a_o universal_a love_n influence_v a_o universal_a obedience_n through_o this_o coincidence_n of_o the_o effect_n of_o love_n and_o the_o instance_n of_o duty_n our_o love_n of_o god_n who_o be_v our_o king_n and_o governor_n be_v a_o sure_a principle_n of_o our_o obedience_n to_o he_o be_v his_o precept_n instance_a not_o in_o the_o same_o thing_n which_o be_v the_o effect_n of_o a_o general_a love_n which_o be_v the_o true_a case_n but_o in_o thing_n different_a from_o they_o for_o although_o our_o love_n will_v not_o prompt_v we_o to_o perform_v they_o by_o its_o natural_a tendency_n towards_o they_o and_o for_o their_o own_o sake_n yet_o it_o will_v through_o submission_n and_o duty_n and_o for_o his_o sake_n who_o enjoin_v they_o it_o will_v make_v we_o deny_v ourselves_o to_o pleasure_v he_o and_o produce_v other_o effect_n than_o our_o own_o temper_n incline_v we_o to_o to_o do_v he_o service_n for_o as_o love_n be_v for_o do_v hurt_v to_o none_o so_o lest_o of_o all_o to_o governor_n it_o will_v give_v to_o every_o one_o their_o own_o but_o to_o they_o most_o especial_o now_o duty_n and_o service_n be_v that_o which_o we_o owe_v to_o our_o ruler_n and_o the_o proper_a way_n of_o love_n exert_v itself_o in_o that_o be_v by_o obedience_n if_o we_o love_v we_o shall_v be_v industrious_a to_o please_v and_o the_o only_a way_n of_o please_v they_o be_v by_o do_v what_o they_o command_v we_o for_o there_o be_v no_o such_o offence_n to_o a_o governor_n as_o the_o transgression_n of_o his_o law_n no_o injury_n like_o that_o of_o oppose_v his_o will_n and_o despise_v his_o authority_n to_o do_v this_o be_v to_o renounce_v all_o subjection_n and_o to_o cast_v off_o his_o yoke_n and_o so_o be_v not_o to_o express_v love_n but_o to_o declare_v enmity_n not_o affectionate_o to_o own_o but_o in_o open_a malice_n to_o defy_v he_o but_o if_o any_o man_n will_v contribute_v to_o his_o delight_n there_o be_v no_o way_n for_o that_o but_o by_o a_o performance_n of_o his_o pleasure_n it_o be_v nothing_o but_o our_o obedience_n that_o can_v add_v to_o his_o contentment_n or_o evidence_n our_o love_n for_o disobedience_n to_o our_o governor_n be_v clear_o the_o most_o profess_a hatred_n as_o the_o observance_n of_o our_o duty_n be_v the_o most_o allow_a instance_n of_o friendship_n and_o good_a will_n so_o that_o love_n be_v a_o spring_n and_o principle_n of_o our_o obedience_n not_o only_o because_o the_o commandment_n and_o it_o run_v parallel_n and_o the_o instance_n of_o god_n law_n be_v the_o same_o with_o the_o effect_n of_o a_o general_a love_n but_o also_o because_o our_o love_n of_o god_n will_v make_v we_o obey_v he_o even_o in_o such_o instance_n of_o duty_n as_o differ_v from_o they_o for_o all_o that_o aversion_n which_o we_o have_v to_o the_o thing_n command_v will_v be_v outweigh_v by_o our_o desire_n to_o please_v he_o who_o command_v it_o and_o although_o we_o shall_v neglect_v it_o upon_o its_o own_o yet_o for_o his_o sake_n we_o shall_v certain_o fulfil_v and_o perform_v it_o and_o because_o our_o love_n of_o god_n and_o man_n be_v so_o natural_a a_o spring_n and_o so_o sweet_a and_o easy_a a_o principle_n to_o produce_v in_o we_o a_o perfect_a and_o entire_a obedience_n to_o all_o those_o law_n which_o concern_v either_o or_o to_o any_o other_o therefore_o have_v god_n promise_v so_o noble_o to_o reward_v it_o he_o never_o intend_v to_o crown_v a_o idle_a and_o unworking_a love_n but_o such_o only_a as_o be_v active_a and_o industrious_a for_o when_o he_o say_v that_o he_o who_o love_v god_n and_o man_n be_v know_v of_o god_n and_o accept_v by_o he_o and_o bear_v of_o he_o and_o that_o god_n dwell_v in_o he_o and_o have_v prepare_v heaven_n for_o he_o he_o speak_v metonymical_o and_o mean_v all_o the_o while_n a_o love_n with_o these_o religious_a effect_n a_o love_n that_o be_v productive_a of_o a_o entire_a service_n and_o obedience_n and_o to_o this_o point_n the_o scripture_n speak_v full_o for_o as_o for_o our_o love_n of_o god_n himself_o and_o of_o our_o saviour_n christ_n that_o be_v plain_o of_o no_o account_n in_o his_o judgement_n but_o when_o it_o make_v we_o keep_v his_o command_n and_o become_v industrious_o obedient_a if_o you_o love_n i_o say_v christ_n keep_v my_o commandment_n for_o he_o that_o have_v my_o commandment_n and_o keep_v they_o he_o it_o be_v that_o love_v i_o and_o he_o
