food_n or_o raiment_n we_o be_v not_o worthy_a so_o much_o as_o to_o cast_v up_o our_o eye_n towards_o heaven_n the_o habitation_n of_o god_n holiness_n but_o what_o then_o shall_v we_o never_o make_v our_o humble_a address_n to_o the_o throne_n of_o god_n grace_n because_o we_o be_v not_o worthy_a to_o ask_v or_o to_o have_v our_o petition_n hear_v and_o grant_v by_o he_o shall_v we_o refuse_v any_o favour_n the_o kindness_n of_o heaven_n offer_v to_o we_o because_o they_o be_v beyond_o our_o merit_n or_o more_o than_o we_o can_v challenge_v or_o expect_v it_o be_v not_o say_v here_o in_o the_o text_n he_o that_o be_v unworthy_a to_o eat_v and_o drink_v of_o this_o sacrament_n if_o he_o do_v it_o eat_v and_o drink_v damnation_n to_o himself_o if_o it_o be_v than_o indeed_o we_o may_v all_o be_v just_o afraid_a of_o come_v to_o this_o royal_a feast_n but_o he_o that_o eat_v and_o drink_v unworthy_o now_o there_o be_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o difference_n between_o these_o two_o thing_n between_o a_o man_n be_v unworthy_a to_o receive_v this_o sacrament_n and_o his_o receive_n it_o unworthy_o which_o i_o shall_v thus_o illustrate_v he_o for_o example_n who_o have_v gross_o wrong_v malicious_o slander_v or_o without_o any_o provocation_n of_o i_o treat_v i_o very_o ill_a be_v as_o you_o will_v all_o grant_v utter_o unworthy_a of_o any_o kindness_n or_o favour_n from_o i_o but_o now_o if_o notwithstanding_o this_o unworthiness_n i_o do_v he_o some_o considerable_a kindness_n and_o offer_v he_o some_o favour_n his_o unworthiness_n be_v no_o let_v or_o hindrance_n to_o his_o receive_n it_o and_o if_o he_o accept_v it_o with_o a_o due_a sense_n and_o a_o grateful_a mind_n and_o by_o it_o be_v move_v to_o lay_v aside_o all_o his_o former_a enmity_n and_o animosity_n and_o hearty_o repent_v he_o of_o his_o former_a ill-will_n against_o i_o and_o study_n how_o to_o requite_v this_o courtesy_n it_o be_v then_o plain_a that_o though_o he_o be_v unworthy_a of_o the_o favour_n yet_o he_o have_v now_o receive_v it_o worthy_o that_o be_v after_o a_o due_a manner_n as_o he_o ought_v to_o have_v do_v and_o that_o it_o have_v have_v its_o right_a effect_n upon_o he_o so_o we_o be_v all_o unworthy_a to_o partake_v of_o this_o holy_a banquet_n but_o be_v invite_v and_o admit_v we_o may_v behave_v ourselves_o as_o become_v we_o in_o such_o a_o presence_n at_o such_o a_o solemnity_n and_o if_o by_o it_o we_o thankful_o commemorate_v the_o death_n of_o our_o lord_n and_o renounce_v all_o our_o sin_n and_o former_a evil_a way_n and_o there_o give_v up_o ourselves_o to_o be_v govern_v by_o he_o and_o vow_v better_a obedience_n and_o be_v affect_v with_o a_o true_a sense_n of_o his_o love_n then_o though_o unworthy_a of_o so_o great_a a_o favour_n yet_o we_o have_v worthy_o that_o be_v after_o a_o right_a manner_n as_o to_o god_n acceptance_n receive_v this_o bless_a sacrament_n but_o if_o now_o unworthy_a of_o so_o great_a honour_n and_o favour_n we_o also_o receive_v it_o unworthy_o after_o a_o profane_a disorderly_a manner_n not_o at_o a_o mind_v the_o end_n use_v or_o design_n of_o it_o without_o any_o repentance_n for_o sin_n past_a or_o resolution_n of_o amendment_n for_o the_o future_a and_o without_o any_o grateful_a affection_n of_o love_n towards_o our_o saviour_n die_v for_o we_o we_o do_v by_o this_o mean_n indeed_o high_o provoke_v god_n almighty_a and_o just_o incur_v his_o most_o grievous_a displeasure_n 3._o those_o who_o be_v unworthy_a and_o be_v true_o sensible_a of_o their_o own_o unworthiness_n be_v the_o very_a person_n for_o who_o this_o sacrament_n be_v appoint_v and_o for_o who_o benefit_n it_o be_v institute_v be_v we_o not_o all_o sinner_n we_o have_v no_o need_n of_o such_o mean_n of_o grace_n as_o sacrament_n be_v nor_o of_o such_o instrument_n of_o religion_n christ_n come_v not_o to_o call_v the_o righteous_a but_o sinner_n to_o repentance_n they_o that_o be_v whole_a need_v be_v a_o great_a argument_n and_o motive_n to_o engage_v we_o not_o any_o long_a to_o delay_v the_o use_n of_o these_o mean_n but_o to_o hasten_v to_o the_o sacrament_n there_o to_o receive_v supply_n and_o assistance_n suitable_a and_o proportion_v to_o our_o want_n and_o necessity_n the_o more_o unworthy_a we_o find_v ourselves_o the_o more_o we_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o this_o holy_a sacrament_n whereby_o our_o good_a resolution_n may_v be_v strengthen_v and_o confirm_v and_o divine_a power_n and_o grace_v communicate_v to_o we_o to_o enable_v we_o by_o degree_n to_o subdue_v all_o our_o lust_n and_o passion_n and_o to_o resist_v all_o temptation_n and_o so_o by_o often_o receive_v this_o sacrament_n we_o shall_v every_o time_n become_v less_o unworthy_a to_o partake_v
