make_v he_o that_o be_v ceremonial_o unclean_a to_o be_v thirst_n without_o the_o camp_n and_o to_o continue_v so_o till_o he_o be_v legal_o cleanse_v the_o second_o mar_v the_o man_n peace_n before_o god_n the_o 2d_o distinction_n be_v of_o a_o twofold_a court_n wherein_o this_o uncleanness_n be_v charge_v upon_o the_o man_n the_o one_o be_v a_o court_n wherein_o the_o man_n flesh_n iâ—_n as_o it_o be_v judge_v and_o that_o be_v by_o man_n according_a to_o his_o external_a procession_n the_o other_o be_v a_o court_n wherein_o his_o spiritual_a 〈◊〉_d be_v judge_v and_o that_o be_v his_o conscience_n in_o the_o first_o court_n if_o the_o moral_a law_n charge_v he_o not_o with_o guilt_n it_o be_v not_o ask_v whether_o his_o conscience_n be_v guilty_a or_o not_o but_o he_o be_v on_o his_o outward_a cleanse_n admit_v to_o church_n privilege_n but_o the_o second_o court_n which_o be_v call_v the_o court_n of_o conscience_n look_v not_o aâ—_n thing_n as_o they_o appear_v before_o man_n but_o as_o they_o be_v before_o god_n and_o therefore_o will_v challenge_v when_o man_n do_v not_o challenge_v the_o 3d._a distinction_n be_v of_o a_o twofold_a sanctification_n the_o first_o be_v that_o of_o the_o flesh_n speak_v of_o v_o 13._o and_o that_o be_v when_o a_o man_n be_v make_v external_o clean_a or_o holy_a whereby_o he_o be_v admit_v to_o the_o congregagation_n the_o other_o be_v that_o which_o be_v inward_a which_o admit_v not_o only_o to_o external_a church-fellowship_n but_o to_o real_a internal-fellowship_n with_o god_n and_o to_o peace_n and_o calmness_n of_o conscience_n now_o for_o quiet_v the_o conscience_n and_o for_o give_v a_o man_n peace_n he_o tell_v they_o that_o though_o these_o external_a ceremony_n admit_v he_o to_o the_o congregation_n yet_o they_o do_v not_o purify_v his_o conscience_n but_o that_o notwithstanding_o of_o all_o these_o the_o quarrel_n be_v not_o take_v away_o before_o god_n and_o so_o they_o can_v not_o be_v the_o ground_n of_o inward_a peace_n nor_o bring_v it_o in_o to_o the_o man_n soul_n and_o conscience_n but_o that_o its_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n which_o only_o do_v that_o and_o therefore_o his_o sacrifice_n be_v more_o excellent_a than_o all_o these_o ceremonial_a sacrifice_n sprinkling_n and_o wash_n for_o it_o admit_v a_o man_n to_o peace_n with_o god_n and_o give_v he_o quietness_n in_o his_o own_o conscience_n to_o leave_v the_o comparison_n then_o we_o have_v in_o the_o latter_a part_n of_o these_o word_n which_o we_o intend_v to_o insist_v on_o a_o notable_a effect_n and_o the_o great_a efficacy_n of_o christ_n blood_n in_o purge_v of_o the_o conscience_n hold_v forth_o in_o these_o particular_n 1._o it_o be_v employ_v that_o the_o state_n of_o a_o man_n conscience_n by_o nature_n be_v this_o viz._n it_o be_v pollute_v and_o defile_v by_o dead_a work_n 2._o that_o the_o great_a mean_a whereby_o the_o conscience_n be_v purge_v and_o make_v clean_o be_v the_o blood_n of_o christ._n 3_o the_o end_n wherefore_o the_o conscience_n of_o man_n be_v make_v clean_o be_v that_o they_o they_o may_v serve_v the_o live_a god_n 4._o the_o proof_n and_o demonstration_n of_o the_o efficacy_n of_o this_o blood_n in_o these_o word_n of_o the_o former_a part_n of_o the_o verse_n the_o blood_n of_o christ_n who_o through_o the_o eternal_a spirit_n offer_v himself_o without_o god_n he_o cast_v in_o two_o requisite_a qualification_n of_o their_o come_n for_o remove_v these_o obstruction_n and_o to_o let_v we_o see_v that_o though_o he_o allow_v of_o the_o well_o ground_a confidence_n of_o faith_n yet_o he_o do_v not_o allow_v of_o carnal_a presumption_n in_o approach_v to_o god_n the_o 1._o thing_n that_o stand_v in_o their_o way_n be_v carnalness_n and_o deceit_n of_o heart_n and_o the_o qualification_n which_o he_o require_v for_o remove_v of_o it_o be_v in_o these_o word_n let_v we_o draw_v near_o with_o a_o true_a heart_n which_o be_v not_o to_o be_v understand_v of_o a_o simple_o sinless_a heart_n but_o of_o a_o sincere_a honest_a and_o upright_a heart_n a_o clean_a heart_n loathe_v and_o work_v out_o the_o remainder_n of_o pollution_n and_o impurity_n for_o it_o be_v oppose_v to_o a_o unclean_a deceitful_a and_o hypocritical_a heart_n otherways_o the_o next_o word_n of_o sprinkle_v and_o wash_v will_v not_o be_v add_v but_o because_o 2_o believer_n win_v not_o in_o this_o life_n to_o that_o perfection_n in_o purity_n and_o sincerity_n but_o still_o they_o be_v conscious_a to_o themselves_o of_o a_o remainder_n of_o deceit_n impurity_n and_o hypocrisy_n to_o be_v and_o abide_v in_o they_o so_o that_o if_o they_o have_v no_o more_o but_o the_o testimony_n of_o their_o own_o purity_n and_o sincerity_n to_o look_v to_o it_o will_v be_v but_o as_o one_o leg_n to_o walk_v upon_o in_o their_o draw_v near_o to_o god_n they_o may_v therefore_o object_v alace_o we_o have_v but_o little_a if_o any_o thing_n of_o a_o pure_a and_o sincere_a
