here_o which_o have_v not_o his_o weight_n for_o by_o the_o day_n of_o his_o flesh_n he_o mean_v that_o the_o time_n of_o our_o misery_n be_v determine_v and_o limit_v which_o must_v needs_o bring_v great_a solace_n unto_o us._n it_o be_v a_o troublesome_a estate_n yea_o and_o unpossible_a to_o be_v bear_v if_o some_o hope_n be_v not_o set_v before_o we_o that_o we_o shall_v come_v from_o under_o deliver_v from_o his_o trouble_n and_o this_o he_o say_v to_o the_o end_n none_o shall_v think_v that_o christ_n have_v a_o heart_n of_o brass_n without_o feeling_n for_o we_o must_v always_o consider_v to_o what_o end_n every_o thing_n be_v speak_v if_o christ_n have_v not_o be_v touch_v with_o any_o sorrow_n what_o consolation_n will_v have_v come_v unto_o we_o by_o his_o passion_n but_o when_o we_o hear_v that_o he_o feel_v not_o bodily_a pain_n alone_o but_o also_o endure_v sharp_a torment_n in_o his_o spirit_n herein_o be_v the_o similitude_n show_v between_o he_o and_o us._n for_o when_o christ_n say_v he_o endure_v death_n and_o other_o misery_n it_o be_v not_o to_o the_o end_n he_o shall_v set_v they_o light_n or_o not_o be_v touch_v with_o any_o feel_n of_o they_o for_o he_o pray_v with_o cry_n and_o tear_n by_o which_o he_o give_v testimony_n of_o the_o great_a anguish_n that_o be_v in_o his_o heart_n the_o apostle_n then_o by_o these_o tear_n and_o strong_a cry_n will_v express_v a_o vehement_a dolour_n it_o be_v a_o ordinary_a manner_n of_o speech_n to_o note_v out_o that_o which_o be_v do_v by_o the_o sign_n neither_o do_v i_o doubt_v but_o that_o he_o speak_v of_o admonish_v not_o to_o sue_v unto_o any_o for_o deliverance_n out_o of_o our_o misery_n but_o to_o god_n alone_o for_o what_o better_a rule_n of_o prayer_n can_v we_o have_v than_o the_o example_n of_o christ_n now_o he_o direct_v his_o prayer_n to_o none_o but_o to_o his_o father_n o_o my_o father_n say_v he_o if_o it_o be_v possible_a etc._n etc._n matth._n 26.39_o and_o the_o apostle_n show_v spirit_n and_o be_v hear_v in_o that_o which_o he_o fear_v some_o have_v translate_v for_o his_o reverence_n but_o i_o do_v not_o at_o any_o hand_n approve_v of_o it_o for_o first_o the_o adiective_n he_o be_v not_o add_v in_o the_o greek_a moreover_o the_o word_n which_o follow_v signify_v of_o or_o some_o word_n like_a unto_o it_o see_v then_o that_o the_o greek_a noun_n which_o be_v put_v here_o signify_v oftentimes_o rather_o fear_n or_o care_n i_o doubt_v not_o but_o the_o apostle_n mean_v to_o show_v that_o christ_n be_v hear_v in_o that_o which_o he_o fear_v that_o be_v to_o say_v albeit_o he_o be_v overwhelm_v with_o sorrow_n and_o adversity_n yet_o he_o fall_v not_o under_o the_o flesh_n ourselves_o our_o obedience_n chief_o appear_v in_o the_o denial_n of_o ourselves_o to_o yield_v to_o that_o which_o be_v please_v unto_o god_n then_o and_o never_o till_o then_o do_v our_o obedience_n appear_v this_o i_o say_v be_v a_o singular_a and_o evident_a testimony_n of_o perfect_a subjection_n when_o as_o we_o prefer_v death_n itself_o to_o which_o we_o be_v call_v of_o god_n although_o it_o bring_v fear_n and_o horror_n before_o life_n which_o all_o of_o we_o do_v rather_o natural_o desire_v and_o be_v consecrate_v be_v make_v etc._n etc._n verse_n 9_o this_o be_v the_o last_o or_o further_a end_n as_o they_o say_v wherefore_o it_o behoove_v christ_n to_o suffer_v to_o wit_n that_o by_o this_o mean_v he_o may_v be_v establish_v and_o consecrate_v into_o his_o office_n of_o priesthood_n cross_n christ_n be_v consecrate_v into_o his_o office_n of_o and_o that_o the_o promise_n which_o he_o publish_v be_v not_o receive_v as_o a_o thing_n of_o any_o certainty_n yet_o to_o the_o end_n the_o infidelity_n and_o obstinacy_n of_o the_o people_n shall_v be_v no_o discouragement_n unto_o he_o the_o lord_n command_v he_o to_o seal_v up_o that_o doctrine_n which_o he_o have_v teach_v among_o a_o very_a few_o of_o the_o faithful_a and_o it_o be_v as_o much_o as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v the_o doctrine_n which_o thou_o have_v deliver_v be_v reject_v of_o the_o great_a part_n yet_o there_o be_v some_o notwithstanding_o although_o a_o little_a the_o incredulity_n of_o the_o people_n and_o therefore_o it_o especial_o belong_v to_o christ_n who_o shall_v be_v assail_v of_o the_o jew_n with_o a_o more_o obstinate_a and_o furious_a rebellion_n than_o all_o the_o prophet_n be_v which_o be_v before_o he_o nay_o do_v we_o not_o see_v that_o those_o who_o have_v succeed_v israel_n and_o call_v themselves_o by_o the_o name_n of_o christian_n have_v not_o only_o reject_v his_o gospel_n but_o do_v also_o furious_o set_v themselves_o against_o he_o but_o howsoever_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n be_v esteem_v a_o stone_n of_o offence_n to_o those_o that_o be_v in_o the_o bosom_n of_o the_o church_n yet_o god_n will_v not_o have_v it_o fall_v to_o ruin_v for_o all_o that_o but_o will_v rather_o command_v it_o to_o be_v seal_v up_o among_o his_o disciple_n and_o christ_n in_o the_o name_n of_o all_o the_o doctor_n as_o their_o head_n or_o rather_o as_o the_o only_a doctor_n who_o guide_v we_o by_o their_o ministry_n pronounce_v that_o although_o we_o see_v such_o a_o desperate_a unthankfulness_n in_o the_o world_n yet_o there_o shall_v always_o be_v some_o which_o shall_v yield_v themselves_o obedient_a unto_o god_n thus_o you_o see_v how_o this_o place_n of_o isaiah_n be_v fit_o apply_v unto_o christ_n and_o thereupon_o the_o apostle_n gather_v that_o we_o be_v one_o with_o he_o because_o he_o associate_n we_o with_o himself_o when_o he_o offer_v himself_o and_o we_o together_o with_o he_o to_o his_o father_n for_o they_o who_o obey_v god_n under_o one_o and_o the_o same_o rule_n of_o faith_n make_v also_o oneself_o same_o body_n can_v any_o thing_n be_v say_v more_o proper_o for_o the_o praise_n of_o faith_n than_o when_o we_o be_v make_v companion_n with_o the_o son_n of_o god_n who_o exhort_v we_o by_o his_o example_n and_o show_v we_o the_o way_n wherefore_o if_o we_o follow_v the_o word_n of_o god_n we_o know_v assure_o that_o we_o have_v christ_n for_o our_o guide_n contrariwise_o those_o who_o turn_v from_o the_o obedience_n of_o the_o word_n do_v nothing_o at_o all_o belong_v to_o christ_n be_v there_o any_o thing_n i_o pray_v you_o more_o desirable_a than_o this_o to_o wit_n father_n have_v ordain_v unto_o life_n those_o he_o commit_v to_o the_o tuition_n of_o his_o son_n to_o the_o end_n he_o may_v conserve_v and_o keep_v they_o and_o that_o be_v it_o which_o he_o say_v joh._n 6.37_o all_o that_o the_o father_n have_v give_v i_o shall_v come_v unto_o i_o therefore_o when_o we_o feel_v that_o we_o can_v submit_v ourselves_o unto_o god_n in_o obedience_n of_o faith_n and_o not_o testament_n but_o because_o the_o greek_a word_n diathece_n have_v these_o two_o signification_n to_o wit_n of_o the_o covenant_n and_o of_o the_o testament_n for_o this_o cause_n the_o apostle_n allude_v to_o the_o second_o signification_n affirm_v that_o the_o promise_n can_v not_o otherwise_o be_v of_o any_o weight_n or_o stability_n unless_o they_o have_v be_v seal_v by_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n
which_o some_o do_v ask_v and_o quite_o from_o the_o purpose_n to_o wit_n whether_o christ_n be_v not_o always_o present_a there_o for_o the_o apostle_n dispute_v here_o only_o of_o the_o intercession_n by_o which_o he_o enter_v into_o the_o celestial_a sanctuary_n not_o that_o he_o shall_v offer_v himself_o often_o verse_n 25_o etc._n etc._n how_o be_v he_o then_o a_o priest_n objection_n may_v some_o man_n say_v if_o he_o make_v no_o sacrifice_n i_o answer_v answer_v it_o be_v not_o require_v in_o the_o person_n or_o office_n of_o a_o priest_n to_o be_v always_o in_o the_o which_o never_o perish_v or_o have_v a_o end_n and_o here_o again_o he_o show_v what_o difference_n there_o be_v and_o in_o what_o thing_n between_o christ_n and_o the_o leviticall_a priesthood_n as_o touch_v the_o sanctuary_n he_o have_v speak_v heretofore_o but_o he_o note_v a_o difference_n in_o the_o kind_n of_o sacrifice_n because_o christ_n offer_v himself_o and_o not_o a_o beast_n and_o then_o he_o note_v another_o difference_n to_o wit_n that_o he_o do_v not_o often_o offer_v this_o sacrifice_n as_o under_o the_o law_n where_o they_o often_o yea_o and_o almost_o continual_o reiterated_a their_o sacrifice_n for_o than_o he_o must_v have_v often_o suffer_v verse_n 26_o etc._n etc._n he_o show_v how_o absurd_a and_o unreasonable_a a_o thing_n it_o shall_v be_v if_o we_o content_v not_o ourselves_o with_o the_o only_a sacrifice_n of_o christ_n for_o from_o thence_o he_o conclude_v that_o he_o must_v then_o have_v often_o suffer_v because_o death_n be_v always_o join_v
