of_o sanctification_n to_o which_o repentance_n pertain_v be_v a_o effect_n of_o the_o satisfaction_n and_o a_o fruit_n of_o the_o merit_n of_o christ_n how_o then_o can_v god_n be_v move_v to_o communicate_v so_o great_a a_o good_a to_o man_n without_o precede_a repentance_n or_o without_o something_o else_o equivalent_a to_o a_o satisfaction_n and_o if_o he_o can_v love_v his_o creature_n so_o much_o notwithstanding_o his_o justice_n as_o to_o give_v they_o one_o to_o make_v satisfaction_n for_o they_o to_o the_o end_n they_o may_v be_v capable_a of_o repentance_n and_o beatitude_n why_o can_v he_o not_o give_v they_o both_o repentance_n and_o beatitude_n too_o without_o that_o satisfaction_n answ_n this_o deserve_v to_o be_v further_o display_v that_o so_o the_o harmony_n which_o be_v between_o the_o part_n of_o christian_a religion_n may_v become_v more_o conspicuous_a satisfaction_n be_v to_o be_v consider_v in_o two_o respect_n first_o as_o it_o be_v a_o and_o in_o this_o respect_n it_o be_v a_o act_n of_o mercy_n as_o for_o the_o first_o see_v it_o be_v a_o exercise_v of_o the_o justice_n of_o god_n upon_o the_o sin_n of_o man_n there_o need_v no_o affection_n which_o zaleucus_n have_v for_o his_o son_n who_o sight_n without_o question_n have_v he_o have_v no_o other_o consideration_n he_o ardent_o wish_v may_v remain_v safe_a and_o perfect_a his_o paternal_a compassion_n will_v lead_v he_o to_o this_o but_o the_o sacred_a authority_n of_o his_o law_n obstruct_v his_o desire_n and_o restrain_v his_o natural_a inclination_n that_o he_o shall_v not_o do_v injury_n to_o justice_n now_o in_o reference_n to_o the_o first_o sort_n of_o mercy_n we_o grant_v that_o it_o may_v be_v in_o god_n towards_o his_o sinful_a creature_n without_o any_o previous_a satisfaction_n or_o condition_n of_o repentance_n but_o yet_o withal_o it_o do_v no_o injury_n to_o justice_n because_o it_o bring_v nothing_o to_o effect_n the_o consideration_n of_o the_o law_n transgress_v by_o the_o creature_n intercept_v it_o so_o that_o man_n remain_v in_o his_o condemnation_n for_o the_o other_o which_o real_o and_o effectual_o confer_v repentance_n and_o
