any_o pipe_n barrel_n or_o other_o cask_n or_o vessel_n in_o any_o the_o street_n lane_n or_o open_a passage_n aforesaid_a nor_o shall_v set_v out_o empty_a coach_n to_o make_v or_o mend_v or_o rough_a timber_n or_o stone_n to_o be_v saw_v or_o wrought_v in_o the_o street_n on_o the_o penalty_n of_o twenty_o shilling_n for_o every_o offence_n and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o the_o raker_n scavenger_n or_o other_o officer_n thereunto_o appoint_v every_o day_n in_o the_o wéek_v except_a sunday_n and_o other_o holiday_n shall_v bring_v or_o cause_n to_o be_v bring_v cart_n dung-pot_n or_o other_o fit_a carriage_n into_o all_o street_n and_o place_n within_o their_o respective_a ward_n parish_n charge_n and_o division_n where_o such_o cart_n or_o carriage_n can_v pass_v and_o at_o or_o before_o their_o approach_n by_o a_o bell_n horn_n clapper_n or_o otherwise_o shall_v make_v distinct_a and_o loud_a noise_n and_o give_v notice_n to_o the_o inhabitant_n of_o their_o come_n and_o make_v the_o like_a noise_n and_o give_v the_o like_a notice_n in_o every_o court_n alley_n or_o place_n into_o which_o the_o say_a cart_n can_v pass_v and_o abide_v and_o stay_v there_o a_o convenient_a time_n in_o such_o sort_n that_o all_o person_n concern_v may_v bring_v forth_o their_o respective_a ash_n dust_n dirt_n filth_n and_o soil_v to_o the_o respective_a cart_n or_o carriage_n so_o stay_v as_o aforesaid_a all_o which_o the_o say_a raker_n scavenger_n or_o other_o officer_n aforesaid_a shall_v daily_o carry_v or_o cause_n to_o be_v carry_v away_o upon_o pain_n to_o forfeit_v forty_o shilling_n for_o every_o offence_n or_o neglect_n respective_o and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o all_o the_o open_a street_n householder_n all_o open_a street_n to_o be_v pave_v and_o so_o keep_v by_o the_o several_a householder_n lane_n and_o alley_n within_o the_o say_a city_n and_o place_n aforesaid_a except_v only_o the_o new_a pave_v of_o such_o street_n and_o place_n for_o which_o any_o of_o the_o inhabitant_n have_v contribute_v and_o pay_v their_o respective_a proportion_n to_o the_o commissioner_n before_o name_v according_a to_o the_o rate_v aforesaid_a shall_v be_v forthwith_o sufficient_o repair_v or_o pave_v and_o from_o time_n to_o time_n hereafter_o maintain_v and_o keep_v sufficient_o repair_v or_o pave_v at_o the_o cost_n and_o charge_n of_o the_o householder_n in_o the_o same_o street_n lane_n and_o alley_n respective_o in_o manner_n follow_v that_o be_v to_o say_v every_o of_o the_o say_a householder_n to_o repair_v and_o pave_v and_o to_o keep_v repair_v and_o pave_v the_o street_n lane_n or_o alley_n before_o his_o house_n and_o so_o far_o as_o his_o house_n wall_n or_o building_n extend_v unto_o the_o channel_n or_o middle_a of_o the_o same_o street_n lane_n or_o alley_n upon_o pain_n to_o forfeit_v twenty_o shilling_n for_o every_o perch_n or_o rod_n and_o after_o that_o rate_n for_o a_o great_a or_o lesser_a quantity_n for_o every_o default_n pave_v the_o penalty_n for_o not_o pave_v and_o of_o twenty_o shilling_n a_o wéek_v for_o every_o repair_v and_o pave_v in_o other_o manner_n shall_v be_v hereafter_o repair_v pave_v and_o maintain_v in_o such_o sort_n and_o manner_n and_o by_o such_o person_n and_o person_n as_o have_v notwithstanding_o and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a lady-day_n candle_n or_o light_n to_o be_v hang_v out_o every_o night_n from_o michaelmas_n to_o lady-day_n that_o every_o householder_n within_o the_o say_a city_n the_o suburb_n and_o liberty_n thereof_o and_o in_o all_o other_o the_o place_n aforesaid_a who_o house_n adjoin_v unto_o and_o be_v next_o the_o street_n from_o michaelmas_n until_o our_o lady-day_n yearly_a shall_v every_o night_n set_v or_o hang_v out_o candle_n or_o light_n in_o lantern_n or_o otherwise_o in_o some_o part_n of_o his_o house_n next_o the_o street_n to_o enlighten_v the_o same_o for_o passenger_n from_o such_o time_n as_o it_o shall_v grow_v dark_a until_o nine_o of_o the_o clock_n in_o the_o evening_n upon_o pain_n by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o where_o there_o be_v not_o sufficient_a gravel_n chalk_n sand_n cinder_n or_o stone_n within_o any_o parish_n town_n village_n or_o hamlet_n to_o repair_v their_o common_a and_o public_a highway_n it_o shall_v be_v lawful_a for_o the_o surveyor_n and_o surveyor_n and_o such_o person_n and_o person_n as_o he_o or_o they_o shall_v appoint_v upon_o the_o allowance_n and_o approbation_n of_o any_o two_o justice_n of_o peace_n within_o the_o say_a county_n to_o dig_v take_v and_o carry_v away_o gravel_n chalk_n sand_n cinder_n or_o stone_n out_o of_o the_o waste_n and_o common_a of_o any_o neighbour_a parish_n town_n village_n or_o hamlet_n or_o upon_o the_o sea-coast_n without_o pay_v any_o thing_n for_o the_o same_o for_o the_o repair_n and_o amend_v of_o the_o highway_n aforesaid_a so_o as_o they_o fill_v up_o the_o place_n within_o one_o month_n next_o ensue_v if_o require_v by_o the_o owner_n of_o the_o soyl._n provide_v always_o and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a ground_n

be_v it_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o every_o person_n and_o person_n who_o by_o virtue_n of_o this_o present_a act_n be_v or_o shall_v be_v appoint_v or_o authorize_v to_o licence_n the_o imprint_n of_o book_n or_o reprint_v thereof_o with_o any_o addition_n or_o amendment_n as_o aforesaid_a shall_v have_v one_o write_v copy_n of_o the_o same_o book_n or_o book_n which_o shall_v be_v so_o license_v to_o be_v imprint_v or_o reprint_v with_o the_o title_n epistle_n preface_n table_n dedication_n and_o all_o other_o thing_n whatsoever_o thereunto_o annex_v keep_v how_o and_o where_o the_o say_a copy_n shall_v be_v keep_v which_o say_v copy_n shall_v be_v deliver_v by_o such_o licenser_n or_o licenser_n to_o the_o printer_n or_o owner_n for_o the_o imprint_n thereof_o and_o shall_v be_v sole_o and_o entire_o return_v by_o such_o printer_n or_o owner_n after_o the_o imprint_n thereof_o unto_o such_o licenser_n or_o licenser_n to_o be_v keep_v in_o the_o public_a registry_n of_o the_o say_a lord_n archbishop_n or_o lord_n bishop_n of_o london_n respective_o or_o in_o the_o office_n of_o the_o chancellor_n or_o vicechancellor_n of_o either_o the_o say_a university_n or_o with_o the_o say_a lord_n chancellor_n or_o lord_n keeper_n of_o the_o great_a seal_n for_o the_o time_n be_v license_v english_a book_n how_o to_o be_v license_v or_o lord_n chief_a justice_n or_o chief_a baron_n or_o one_o of_o they_o or_o the_o say_v principal_a secretary_n of_o state_n or_o with_o the_o earl_n marshal_n or_o the_o say_a king_n of_o arm_n or_o one_o of_o they_o of_o all_o such_o book_n as_o shall_v be_v license_v by_o they_o respective_o and_o if_o such_o book_n so_o to_o be_v license_v shall_v be_v a_o english_a book_n or_o of_o the_o english_a tongue_n there_o shall_v be_v two_o write_a copy_n thereof_o deliver_v to_o the_o licenser_n or_o licenser_n if_o he_o or_o they_o shall_v so_o require_v one_o copy_n whereof_o so_o license_v shall_v be_v deliver_v back_o to_o the_o say_a printer_n or_o owner_n and_o the_o other_o copy_n shall_v be_v reserve_v and_o keep_v as_o be_v aforesaid_a to_o the_o end_n such_o licenser_n or_o licenser_n may_v be_v secure_v that_o the_o copy_n so_o license_v shall_v not_o be_v alter_v without_o his_o or_o their_o privity_n and_o upon_o the_o say_a copy_n license_v to_o be_v imprint_v he_o or_o they_o who_o shall_v so_o licence_n the_o same_o shall_v testify_v under_o he_o or_o their_o hand_n or_o hand_n that_o there_o be_v not_o any_o thing_n in_o the_o same_o contain_v that_o be_v contrary_a to_o the_o christian_a faith_n or_o the_o doctrine_n or_o discipline_n of_o the_o church_n of_o england_n or_o against_o the_o state_n or_o government_n of_o this_o realm_n or_o contrary_a to_o good_a import_n the_o same_o in_o the_o port_n of_o london_n only_o and_o not_o elsewhere_o without_o the_o special_a licence_n of_o the_o archbishop_n of_o canterbury_n and_o bishop_n of_o london_n for_o they_o respective_o shall_v first_o acquaint_v the_o say_a master_n and_o warden_n of_o the_o say_a company_n of_o stationer_n for_o the_o time_n be_v or_o some_o or_o one_o of_o they_o for_o who_o the_o same_o press_n ironwork_n or_o letter_n be_v to_o be_v make_v forge_a cast_v bring_v or_o import_v upon_o pain_n that_o every_o person_n who_o shall_v erect_v any_o such_o printing-press_n or_o shall_v demise_n or_o let_v any_o house_n or_o room_n or_o suffer_v the_o same_o to_o be_v hold_v or_o use_v and_o every_o person_n who_o shall_v make_v any_o printing-press_n or_o any_o ironwork_n for_o a_o printing-press_n or_o shall_v make_v import_n or_o buy_v any_o letter_n for_o printing_n without_o give_v notice_n as_o aforesaid_a shall_v forfeit_v for_o every_o such_o offence_n the_o sum_n of_o five_o pound_n the_o one_o moiety_n whereof_o shall_v be_v to_o the_o use_n of_o our_o sovereign_a lord_n the_o king_n his_o heir_n and_o successor_n and_o the_o other_o moiety_n to_o the_o use_n of_o such_o person_n or_o person_n as_o shall_v sue_v for_o the_o same_o printer_n who_o and_o how_o many_o shall_v be_v master_n printer_n and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o death_n or_o otherwise_o reduce_v to_o the_o number_n of_o twenty_o and_o from_o thenceforth_o the_o number_n of_o twenty_o master-printer_n shall_v be_v continue_v and_o no_o more_o beside_o the_o in_o the_o court_n of_o kings-bench_n or_o before_o some_o one_o or_o more_o of_o the_o justice_n of_o assize_n or_o the_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n at_o their_o several_a quarter-session_n in_o the_o sum_n of_o three_o hundred_o pound_n not_o to_o print_v or_o suffer_v to_o be_v print_v in_o his_o house_n or_o press_v any_o book_n or_o book_n whatsoever_o but_o such_o as_o shall_v from_o time_n to_o time_n be_v lawful_o license_v and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a printing-presses_a who_o only_o may_v keep_v above_o two_o printing-presses_a that_o none_o of_o the_o say_a master_n printer_n so_o to_o be_v allow_v from_o time_n to_o time_n as_o aforesaid_a shall_v keep_v above_o two_o printing-presses_a at_o once_o unless_o he_o have_v be_v master_n or_o vpper-warden_n of_o the_o company_n who_o be_v hereby_o allow_v to_o keep_v three_o press_n and_o no_o more_o unless_o for_o some_o great_a and_o special_a occasion_n for_o the_o public_a he_o or_o they_o have_v for_o a_o time_n leave_v of_o the_o say_a lord_n archbishop_n of_o canterbury_n or_o lord_n bishop_n of_o london_n for_o the_o time_n be_v or_o to_o have_v or_o use_v one_o or_o more_o above_o the_o aforesaid_a number_n as_o their_o lordship_n or_o either_o of_o they_o shall_v think_v fit_a and_o be_v it_o also_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a retain_v what_o number_n of_o apprentice_n they_o may_v retain_v that_o no_o printer_n or_o printer_n except_o the_o king_n printer_n nor_o founder_n or_o founder_n of_o letter_n for_o print_v shall_v take_v or_o retain_v any_o more_o or_o great_a number_n of_o apprentice_n then_o be_v herein_o after_o limit_v and_o appoint_v that_o be_v to_o say_v every_o master_n printer_n and_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n for_o printing_n that_o be_v or_o have_v be_v master_n or_o upper_a warden_n of_o his_o company_n may_v have_v three_o apprentice_n at_o one_o time_n and_o no_o more_o and_o every_o master_n printer_n and_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n for_o printing_n that_o be_v of_o the_o livery_n of_o his_o company_n may_v have_v two_o apprentice_n at_o one_o time_n and_o no_o more_o and_o every_o master_n printer_n and_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n for_o print_v of_o the_o yeomanry_n of_o his_o company_n may_v have_v one_o apprentice_n at_o one_o time_n and_o no_o more_o neither_o by_o copartnership_n bind_v at_o the_o scrivener_n nor_o any_o other_o way_n whatsoever_o neither_o shall_v it_o be_v lawful_a for_o any_o master_n printer_n or_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n when_o any_o apprentice_n or_o apprentice_n shall_v run_v or_o be_v put_v away_o to_o take_v another_o apprentice_n or_o other_o apprentice_n in_o he_o or_o their_o place_n or_o place_n unless_o the_o name_n or_o name_n of_o he_o or_o they_o so_o go_v away_o be_v raze_v out_o of_o the_o hall-book_n and_o never_o admit_v again_o and_o because_o a_o great_a part_n of_o the_o secret_a print_n in_o corner_n have_v be_v cause_v for_o want_n of_o orderly_a employment_n for_o journeymen-printer_n the_o say_v several_a master_n printer_n employ_v journeyman_n printer_n and_o founder_n of_o letter_n to_o be_v employ_v and_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n for_o print_v so_o to_o be_v allow_v as_o aforesaid_a be_v hereby_o require_v to_o take_v special_a care_n that_o all_o journey-men-printer_n and_o journey-men-founder_n of_o letter_n for_o print_v who_o be_v lawful_o free_a of_o the_o say_v respective_a mystery_n be_v set_v to_o work_n and_o employ_v in_o their_o respective_a trade_n and_o if_o any_o such_o journey-man-printer_n or_o journey-man-founder_n of_o letter_n be_v of_o honest_a and_o good_a behaviour_n and_o able_a in_o his_o trade_n do_v want_n employment_n he_o shall_v repair_v to_o any_o of_o the_o say_a master_n printer_n or_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n respective_o for_o the_o time_n be_v who_o thereupon_o shall_v receive_v he_o or_o they_o into_o work_n if_o such_o master_n printer_n or_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n have_v not_o a_o journeyman_n already_o although_o such_o master_n printer_n or_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n respective_o with_o his_o apprentice_n or_o apprentice_n be_v able_a without_o the_o help_n of_o the_o say_a journeyman_n to_o discharge_v his_o own_o work_n upon_o pain_n that_o every_o master_n printer_n and_o master_n founder_n of_o letter_n respective_o refuse_v to_o receive_v such_o journeyman_n repair_v to_o he_o as_o aforesaid_a shall_v forfeit_v five_o pound_n to_o be_v recover_v by_o bill_n plaint_n or_o information_n in_o any_o court_n of_o record_n wherein_o no_o essoign_n wager_n at_o law_n privilege_n or_o protection_n shall_v be_v admit_v the_o moiety_n of_o which_o forfeiture_n shall_v go_v to_o the_o king_n majesty_n his_o heir_n and_o successor_n and_o the_o other_o moiety_n to_o the_o informer_n who_o shall_v sue_v for_o the_o same_o within_o six_o month_n next_o after_o the_o say_a offence_n commit_v and_o if_o any_o journeyman_n or_o journeyman_n printer_n or_o founder_n of_o letter_n for_o print_v shall_v refuse_v employment_n be_v offer_v to_o he_o or_o they_o by_o any_o the_o church_n of_o england_n or_o against_o the_o state_n and_o government_n then_o upon_o such_o suspicion_n to_o seize_v upon_o such_o book_n or_o book_n or_o part_n of_o book_n or_o book_n and_o to_o bring_v the_o same_o unto_o the_o say_a lord_n archbishop_n of_o canterbury_n and_z lord_z bishop_n of_o london_n for_o the_o time_n be_v or_o one_o of_o they_o or_o to_o the_o secretary_n of_o state_n or_o one_o of_o they_o respective_o who_o shall_v take_v such_o further_a course_n for_o the_o suppress_n thereof_o as_o to_o they_o or_o any_o of_o they_o shall_v seem_v fit_a and_o be_v it_o ordain_v and_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o all_o and_o every_o printer_n and_o printer_n of_o book_n founder_n and_o founder_n of_o letter_n for_o printing_n and_o all_o and_o every_o other_o person_n and_o person_n work_v in_o or_o for_o the_o say_a trade_n punish_v offender_n against_o this_o act_n how_o to_o be_v punish_v who_o from_o and_o after_o the_o ten_o day_n of_o june_n in_o in_o the_o year_n one_o thousand_o six_o hundred_o sixty_o and_o two_o shall_v offend_v against_o this_o present_a act_n or_o any_o article_n clause_n or_o thing_n herein_o contain_v and_o shall_v before_o any_o public_a vend_v of_o the_o say_a book_n bring_v they_o to_o the_o master_n of_o the_o company_n of_o stationer_n and_o deliver_v they_o to_o he_o one_o whereof_z shall_v be_v deliver_v to_o the_o keeper_n of_o his_o majesty_n library_n and_o the_o other_o two_o to_o be_v send_v to_o the_o vicechancellor_n of_o the_o two_o university_n respective_o for_o the_o use_n of_o the_o public_a library_n of_o the_o say_a university_n university_n proviso_n for_o the_o privilege_n of_o the_o two_o university_n provide_v always_o that_o nothing_o in_o this_o act_n contain_v shall_v be_v construe_v to_o extend_v to_o the_o prejudice_n or_o infringe_n of_o any_o the_o just_a right_n and_o privilege_n of_o either_o of_o the_o two_o university_n of_o this_o realm_n touch_v and_o concern_v the_o licens_v or_o print_v of_o book_n in_o either_o of_o the_o say_a university_n house_n peer_n house_n provide_v always_o that_o no_o search_n shall_v be_v at_o any_o time_n make_v in_o the_o house_n or_o house_n of_o any_o the_o péer_v of_o this_o realm_n or_o of_o any_o other_o person_n or_o person_n not_o be_v free_a of_o or_o use_v any_o of_o the_o trade_n in_o this_o act_n before_o mention_v but_o by_o special_a warrant_n from_o the_o king_n majesty_n under_o his_o sign_n manual_n or_o under_o the_o hand_n of_o one_o or_o both_o of_o his_o majesty_n principal_a shall_v be_v needful_a for_o repair_v of_o the_o several_a highway_n and_o place_n aforesaid_a and_o the_o say_v several_a surveyor_n in_o their_o respective_a county_n shall_v provide_v stone_n gravel_n and_o other_o material_n and_o necessary_n to_o be_v use_v for_o and_o towards_o the_o repair_v and_o amend_v the_o say_a highway_n at_o the_o place_n aforesaid_a and_o the_o say_a surveyor_n or_o three_o or_o more_o of_o they_o in_o their_o respective_a county_n be_v so_o meet_v and_o assemble_v be_v hereby_o authorize_v to_o appoint_v a_o receiver_n or_o collector_n of_o toll_n and_o such_o other_o officer_n and_o officer_n as_o they_o shall_v find_v necessary_a in_o their_o respective_a county_n for_o carry_v on_o the_o say_a work_n with_o such_o moderate_a allowance_n as_o shall_v be_v think_v fit_a to_o be_v approve_v of_o by_o any_o two_o or_o more_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n for_o the_o say_v respective_a county_n for_o which_o such_o officer_n be_v so_o choose_v live_v near_o to_o the_o say_a highway_n or_o place_n aforesaid_a or_o otherwise_o to_o be_v remove_v and_o other_o fit_a person_n or_o person_n to_o be_v choose_v in_o his_o or_o their_o place_n by_o the_o say_a justice_n in_o the_o say_v several_a and_o respective_a county_n and_o for_o the_o better_a effect_v thereof_o be_v it_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o the_o say_a surveyor_n or_o any_o three_o or_o more_o of_o they_o in_o their_o several_a county_n carriage_n charge_v of_o cart_n and_o carriage_n shall_v from_o time_n to_o time_n as_o they_o shall_v see_v cause_n appoint_v and_o require_v all_o and_o every_o person_n and_o person_n inhabit_v within_o three_o mile_n of_o the_o place_n aforesaid_a be_v within_o their_o several_a and_o respective_a county_n who_o by_o any_o law_n or_o statute_n of_o this_o realm_n now_o in_o force_n be_v or_o be_v chargeable_a to_o find_v any_o wain_n or_o cart_n for_o the_o amend_v of_o the_o highway_n and_o every_o other_o person_n and_o person_n chargeable_a to_o labour_v in_o the_o highway_n upon_o reasonable_a notice_n to_o send_v he_o or_o their_o cart_n or_o wain_n and_o team_n or_o to_o come_v to_o labour_v in_o the_o say_a highway_n at_o any_o the_o place_n aforesaid_a within_o their_o respective_a county_n so_o furnish_v as_o by_o the_o law_n and_o statute_n of_o this_o realm_n be_v direct_v for_o the_o amend_v of_o other_o highway_n when_o and_o so_o often_o as_o the_o say_a surveyor_n for_o their_o say_a several_a county_n owner_n allowance_n of_o wage_n to_o labourer_n and_o owner_n or_o any_o three_o or_o more_o of_o they_o shall_v think_v needful_a and_o appoint_v for_o which_o the_o say_a surveyor_n shall_v pay_v unto_o such_o labourer_n and_o to_o the_o owner_n of_o such_o team_n cart_n and_o wain_n according_a to_o the_o usual_a rate_n of_o the_o country_n and_o in_o case_n any_o person_n so_o charge_v to_o send_v he_o her_z or_o their_o team_n to_o work_v as_o aforesaid_a shall_v refuse_v or_o neglect_v so_o to_o do_v such_o person_n so_o refuse_v or_o neglect_v refuse_v the_o penalty_n for_o refuse_v shall_v forfeit_v ten_o shilling_n for_o every_o day_n that_o he_o or_o they_o shall_v make_v such_o default_n and_o every_o labourer_n eighteen_o penny_n for_o every_o day_n he_o shall_v neglect_v or_o refuse_v to_o work_v as_o aforesaid_a charge_v how_o far_o and_o often_o cart_n and_o carriage_n may_v be_v charge_v provide_v that_o no_o person_n or_o person_n by_o virtue_n of_o this_o act_n be_v compel_v or_o compellable_n to_o labour_n or_o to_o send_v he_o or_o their_o team_n cart_n or_o wagon_n for_o the_o mend_n of_o the_o say_a highway_n to_o any_o of_o the_o say_a place_n be_v above_o three_o mile_n distant_a from_o his_o dwellinghouse_n or_o not_o in_o the_o same_o county_n nor_o to_o labour_n or_o send_v he_o or_o their_o team_n cart_n or_o wagon_n for_o amend_v of_o the_o say_a highway_n above_o three_o day_n in_o any_o one_o wéek_v nor_o at_o any_o time_n in_o séed-time_n hay_n or_o corn-harvest_n wage_n who_o may_v determine_v difference_n about_o carriage_n and_o labourer_n wage_n and_o in_o case_n that_o any_o question_n shall_v happen_v to_o arise_v touch_v the_o hire_n to_o be_v give_v by_o the_o say_a surveyor_n for_o such_o team_n cart_n or_o wagon_n or_o concern_v the_o wage_n of_o such_o labourer_n employ_v in_o mend_v the_o say_a highway_n that_o then_o the_o say_a justice_n of_o the_o peace_n in_o the_o county_n where_o such_o difference_n arise_v or_o any_o two_o or_o more_o of_o they_o shall_v and_o may_v determine_v and_o set_v down_o what_o hire_n for_o such_o team_n cart_n or_o wagon_n and_o also_o what_o wage_n to_o such_o labourer_n shall_v be_v pay_v or_o allow_v by_o the_o say_a surveyor_n and_o such_o order_n in_o that_o behalf_n to_o be_v make_v shall_v conclude_v all_o party_n and_o be_v further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o where_o there_o be_v not_o sufficient_a gravel_n chalk_n sand_n or_o stone_n within_o any_o parish_n town_n village_n or_o hamlet_n wherein_o the_o say_a highway_n take_v how_o gravel_n chalk_v stone_n etc._n etc._n may_v be_v take_v or_o place_n aforesaid_a or_o any_o of_o they_o do_v lie_v to_o repair_v the_o say_a highway_n at_o any_o of_o the_o place_n aforesaid_a it_o shall_v and_o may_v be_v lawful_a for_o the_o say_a surveyor_n in_o their_o several_a and_o respective_a county_n or_o any_o three_o or_o more_o of_o they_o and_o such_o person_n and_o person_n as_o they_o shall_v appoint_v to_o dig_v take_v and_o carry_v away_o gravel_n chalk_n sand_n or_o stone_n out_o of_o the_o waste_n or_o common_a of_o any_o neighbour_a parish_n town_n village_n or_o hamlet_n without_o pay_v any_o thing_n for_o the_o same_o for_o the_o repair_n or_o amend_v of_o the_o say_a highway_n at_o any_o the_o place_n aforesaid_a or_o where_o there_o be_v not_o sufficient_a of_o such_o material_n in_o any_o common_a or_o waste_a ground_n thereunto_o near_o adjoin_v to_o dig_v in_o the_o several_a ground_n of_o any_o person_n or_o person_n not_o be_v a_o house_n garden_n orchard_n yard_n or_o park_n store_v with_o dear_a be_v within_o any_o parish_n chargeable_a towards_o the_o repair_n of_o the_o say_a highway_n and_o place_n so_o to_o be_v repair_v where_o any_o such_o material_n be_v or_o may_v be_v find_v and_o from_o time_n to_o time_n to_o carry_v away_o such_o and_o so_o much_o thereof_o as_o the_o say_a surveyor_n or_o any_o three_o or_o more_o of_o they_o in_o their_o respective_a county_n shall_v adjudge_v necessary_a for_o the_o say_a reparation_n without_o pay_v any_o thing_n for_o such_o material_n save_v only_o such_o reasonable_a satisfaction_n to_o the_o owner_n or_o occupier_n of_o the_o ground_n where_o the_o same_o shall_v be_v so_o dig_v &_o carry_v away_o as_o for_o the_o damage_n he_o or_o they_o shall_v thereby_o sustain_v to_o be_v assess_v and_o adjudge_v by_o the_o say_a justice_n of_o the_o county_n where_o the_o same_o be_v dig_v at_o the_o next_o or_o any_o other_o quarter-session_n for_o the_o say_a county_n in_o case_n of_o difference_n concern_v the_o same_o and_o that_o the_o pit_n and_o place_n where_o and_o from_o whence_o such_o material_n shall_v be_v dug_n and_o carry_v away_o for_o the_o reparation_n aforesaid_a shall_v with_o all_o convenient_a speed_n to_o be_v adjudge_v by_o the_o say_a justice_n of_o peace_n as_o aforesaid_a be_v fill_v up_o and_o level_v with_o earth_n or_o other_o material_n or_o else_o rail_v about_o so_o as_o that_o the_o same_o may_v not_o be_v deem_v dangerous_a or_o prejudicial_a to_o man_n or_o beast_n and_o for_o the_o defray_n of_o the_o charge_n of_o such_o reparation_n to_o be_v do_v in_o the_o place_n aforesaid_a be_v it_o further_o enact_v that_o from_o and_o after_o the_o choice_n of_o the_o surveyor_n aforesaid_a it_o shall_v and_o may_v be_v lawful_a to_o and_o for_o the_o say_a surveyor_n for_o the_o time_n be_v with_o such_o consent_n and_o approbation_n as_o be_v aforesaid_a passenger_n who_o may_v appoint_v the_o take_n of_o toll_n or_o custom_n of_o all_o carriage_n and_o passenger_n of_o the_o say_a justice_n of_o the_o several_a county_n within_o their_o own_o county_n and_o not_o elsewhere_o to_o choose_v and_o appoint_v one_o or_o more_o fit_a person_n or_o person_n to_o receive_v or_o take_v such_o sum_n or_o sum_n of_o money_n in_o the_o name_n of_o toll_n or_o custom_n to_o be_v pay_v for_o all_o such_o horse_n cart_n coach_n wagon_n drove_n and_o gang_v of_o cattle_n as_o in_o time_n to_o come_v shall_v pass_v be_v lead_v or_o drive_v in_o or_o through_o the_o say_a way_n or_o place_n aforesaid_a as_o be_v hereafter_o by_o this_o act_n limit_v enact_v that_o all_o and_o every_o person_n and_o person_n which_o since_o the_o five_o and_o twenty_o day_n of_o march_n one_o thousand_o six_o hundred_o sixty_o and_o two_o have_v act_v or_o do_v any_o thing_n in_o the_o dismantling_n of_o any_o city_n or_o town_n or_o demolish_n of_o wall_n and_o fortification_n thereof_o or_o relate_v thereunto_o shall_v be_v and_o be_v hereby_o indemnify_v and_o save_v harmless_a and_o whereas_o some_o doubt_n have_v arisen_a upon_o the_o say_a act_n what_o estate_n shall_v be_v charge_v with_o or_o towards_o foot_n be_v it_o therefore_o enact_v and_o there_o call_v welland_n may_v be_v assess_v and_o charge_v to_o find_v and_o serve_v in_o the_o train_v band_n of_o the_o county_n of_o lincoln_n as_o former_o according_a to_o the_o say_v mention_v sell_v and_o how_o employ_v together_o with_o the_o churchyard_n belong_v to_o such_o church_n shall_v be_v and_o be_v hereby_o vest_v in_o the_o lord_n mayor_n and_o alderman_n of_o the_o city_n of_o the_o say_a mayor_n and_o commonalty_n and_o citizen_n and_o their_o successor_n or_o to_o their_o deputy_n or_o deputy_n officer_n or_o assign_v by_o the_o master_n owner_n or_o owner_n or_o other_o person_n or_o person_n take_v charge_n of_o any_o ship_n or_o vessel_n whereupon_o the_o same_o shall_v be_v lade_v before_o they_o shall_v break_v bulk_n or_o have_v a_o meet_a assign_v for_o the_o measure_n or_o weigh_v of_o any_o coal_n aforesaid_a to_o be_v deliver_v from_o on_o board_n any_o such_o ship_n or_o vessel_n the_o same_o to_o be_v pay_v at_o such_o place_n or_o place_n as_o by_o the_o say_a mayor_n and_o court_n of_o alderman_n shall_v from_o time_n to_o time_n be_v appoint_v for_o the_o receipt_n thereof_o upon_o receipt_n whereof_o the_o party_n appoint_v to_o receive_v the_o same_o shall_v without_o delay_n fee_n or_o reward_n deliver_v a_o receipt_n to_o the_o person_n or_o person_n who_o shall_v pay_v the_o say_a duty_n which_o receipt_n shall_v for_o so_o much_o aforesaid_a that_o the_o coal-meter_n for_o the_o city_n of_o london_n appoint_v or_o to_o be_v appoint_v and_o every_o of_o they_o same_o coal-meter_n duty_n for_o levy_v the_o same_o and_o their_o respective_a deputy_n in_o their_o turn_n &_o course_n of_o attendance_n respective_o so_o soon_o as_o any_o ship_n or_o vessel_n freight_v with_o coal_n shall_v be_v unlade_v shall_v forthwith_o deliver_v a_o true_a certificate_n in_o writing_n unto_o the_o deputy_n or_o deputy_n officer_n or_o assign_v of_o the_o say_a mayor_n and_o commonalty_n and_o citizen_n who_o shall_v be_v appoint_v to_o receive_v the_o say_a imposition_n of_o the_o sort_n quantity_n and_o number_n of_o cauldron_n or_o tun_n of_o coal_n respective_o which_o shall_v be_v measure_v or_o weigh_v and_o deliver_v from_o on_o board_n any_o such_o ship_n or_o vessel_n on_o pain_n for_o he_o or_o their_o default_n therein_o to_o be_v suspend_v from_o the_o execution_n and_o benefit_n of_o he_o or_o their_o coal_n so_o conceal_v over_o and_o above_o the_o imposition_n aforesaid_a the_o sum_n of_o five_o shilling_n for_o which_o in_o case_n of_o refusal_n to_o pay_v the_o same_o such_o ship_n or_o vessel_n or_o any_o the_o tackle_n furniture_n or_o apparel_n thereof_o may_v be_v attach_v and_o detain_v by_o warrant_n from_o the_o mayor_n of_o the_o say_a city_n for_o the_o time_n be_v until_o payment_n thereof_o provide_v nevertheless_o that_o if_o the_o importer_n upon_o such_o certificate_n deliver_v in_o by_o the_o coal-meter_n shall_v within_o four_o and_o
parliament_n not_o have_v account_v for_o all_o the_o money_n by_o he_o receive_v and_o to_o be_v account_v for_o upon_o such_o act_n or_o act_n before_o christmas_n one_o thousand_o six_o hundred_o sixty_o seven_o shall_v be_v appoint_v receiver_n for_o any_o the_o money_n due_a by_o this_o act_n and_o shall_v intermeddle_v therein_o every_o such_o person_n shall_v forfeit_v the_o sum_n of_o
