thou_o and_o thou_o be_v find_v guilty_a pro._n 3.10_o he_o give_v two_o reason_n of_o his_o advice_n the_o one_o be_v that_o his_o complain_n may_v so_o vex_v the_o servant_n over_o who_o he_o have_v no_o jurisdiction_n that_o it_o may_v cause_v they_o in_o their_o impatience_n to_o vex_v he_o with_o their_o reproach_n of_o he_o which_o a_o ingenuous_a mind_n shall_v strive_v to_o avoid_v the_o a_o soul_n shame_n to_o be_v find_v faulty_a to_o conclude_v this_o point_n we_o shall_v remember_v that_o of_o the_o apostle_n what_o have_v thou_o to_o do_v to_o judge_v another_o man_n servant_n he_o stand_v or_o fall_v to_o his_o own_o master_n rom._n 14._o second_o that_o all_o master_n have_v authority_n over_o their_o servant_n though_o the_o master_n be_v a_o poor_a man_n or_o a_o ignorant_a man_n or_o a_o cruel_a man_n or_o a_o froward_a man_n or_o a_o hard_a man_n yet_o the_o servant_n must_v be_v subject_a to_o he_o and_o bear_v himself_o as_o reverent_o and_o obedient_a as_o if_o he_o be_v the_o rich_a or_o wise_a or_o worthy_a master_n in_o the_o world_n and_o the_o reason_n be_v because_o the_o subjection_n be_v due_a not_o to_o the_o master_n riches_n or_o gift_n or_o greatness_n but_o to_o the_o authority_n which_o god_n have_v give_v he_o as_o a_o master_n and_o therefore_o servant_n must_v look_v to_o this_o point_n and_o the_o rather_o because_o it_o will_v be_v the_o great_a trial_n of_o their_o snbjection_n and_o singleness_n of_o heart_n when_o neither_o fear_n nor_o reward_n nor_o any_o outward_a respect_n do_v compel_v or_o constrain_v they_o but_o simple_o the_o conscience_n of_o god_n commandment_n and_o the_o master_n authority_n three_o we_o may_v here_o inquire_v how_o master_n come_v by_o this_o authority_n over_o servant_n by_o nature_n they_o have_v it_o not_o and_o therefore_o must_v have_v it_o by_o law_n the_o law_n of_o man_n can_v make_v one_o man_n a_o servant_n and_o another_o a_o master_n therefore_o it_o be_v by_o the_o law_n of_o god_n since_o it_o be_v by_o the_o law_n of_o god_n if_o we_o have_v recourse_n to_o the_o ten_o commandment_n master_n we_o shall_v find_v that_o it_o be_v the_o five_o commandment_n upon_o the_o thirteen_o to_o the_o roman_n avouch_v it_o that_o priest_n and_o monk_n yea_o apostle_n evangelist_n and_o prophet_n must_v be_v subject_a to_o secular_a power_n and_o bernard_n reason_n the_o ecclesiastical_a government_n be_v great_a than_o the_o secular_a jure_fw-la divino_fw-la and_o therefore_o churchman_n ought_v not_o to_o be_v subject_n because_o the_o superior_a ought_v not_o to_o be_v subject_a to_o the_o inferior_a ans._n the_o ecclesiastical_a government_n be_v superior_a to_o the_o secular_a government_n and_o it_o be_v inferior_a to_o it_o it_o be_v superior_a in_o respect_n of_o the_o rule_n over_o themselves_o in_o the_o thing_n of_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n by_o mean_n appoint_v of_o christ_n viz._n the_o word_n and_o sacrament_n etc._n etc._n but_o it_o be_v inferior_a in_o respect_n of_o civil_a subjection_n in_o the_o obedience_n or_o submission_n that_o concern_v body_n and_o good_n the_o prince_n must_v be_v subject_a to_o the_o church_n in_o matter_n of_o faith_n and_o godliness_n and_o the_o church_n subject_n to_o the_o prince_n in_o matter_n of_o this_o life_n and_o civil_a subjection_n how_o far_o prince_n have_v power_n in_o case_n ecclesiastical_a will_v be_v show_v afterward_o they_o object_n that_o divers_a counsel_n do_v except_o the_o clergy_n from_o the_o bar_n and_o tribunal_n of_o prince_n and_o divers_a pope_n have_v sheep_n shall_v rule_v and_o judge_v the_o shepherd_n prince_n be_v but_o sheep_n and_o priest_n be_v the_o shepherd_n answ._n magistrate_n be_v not_o sheep_n in_o all_o thing_n but_o in_o spiritual_a thing_n in_o matter_n of_o faith_n and_o so_o minister_n be_v shepherd_n to_o feed_v their_o soul_n but_o in_o civil_a thing_n the_o magistrate_n be_v the_o shepherd_n and_o the_o clergyman_n sheep_n because_o citizen_n or_o subject_n but_o they_o say_v that_o clergyman_n be_v free_v by_o privilege_n from_o the_o emperor_n and_o by_o the_o law_n of_o the_o empire_n ans._n if_o that_o be_v so_o than_o their_o privilege_n be_v jure_fw-la humano_fw-la not_o divixo_fw-la second_o they_o plead_v a_o false_a privilege_n for_o in_o thing_n in_o question_n they_o be_v never_o privilege_v that_o be_v in_o matter_n of_o obedience_n to_o the_o law_n or_o in_o matter_n of_o punishment_n in_o thing_n criminal_a three_o if_o it_o be_v so_o than_o they_o be_v subject_a to_o prince_n for_o he_o that_o grant_v a_o privilege_n be_v great_a than_o he_o to_o who_o it_o be_v grant_v but_o the_o last_o and_o best_a answer_n be_v that_o prince_n can_v grant_v no_o such_o privilege_n can_v a_o father_n free_a his_o son_n that_o he_o shall_v not_o honour_v he_o or_o a_o husband_n free_a his_o wife_n that_o she_o shall_v not_o be_v subject_a to_o he_o no_o more_o can_v a_o prince_n free_a by_o duke_n some_o by_o prince_n or_o earl_n or_o the_o like_a four_o because_o in_o the_o new_a testament_n christ_n do_v not_o at_o all_o employ_v himself_o in_o settle_v any_o order_n for_o the_o
